Loving it so far. Combo of these specs can't be found with anything else around this price. Especially with SSD-512 gb + Hard Drive-2 tb storage. 16 gb of ram, 4K display as well make this a bit future proof hopefully for the next 5 yrs or so. The 2 in 1 feature is nice to have but I don't see myself going to tablet mode too often. That's what my separate tablet & smart phone are for. I got a wireless mouse which works perfectly. The built in mouse may be one of the few things I am not thrilled with. The brushed "chocolate" aluminum finish with gold hinges make this beautiful & premium looking. Due to this material it is a fingerprint magnet. But easily maintained with a microfiber cloth & at times a little bit of Windex. The facial recognition is neat & this thing is so fast with start up & shut down due to the SSD. From turned off to online & ready, probably about 10-15 seconds. Shut down much faster, if not shutting down with updates probably 5-7 seconds. So far the battery is actually ok. If using power saving mode (i.e. auto brightness) I get about 6-7 hrs. However I am not a gamer. Still a lot for me to tinker with but this is my feedback for now.

This ASUS sets new standards in design , capacity , performance and value for money. Gamers or business developers can take advantage of what is a portable , high spec server. High memory loads or high disk I/O intensive apps run seamlessly on this ASUS. The color of the device is very attractive for presentations , trade shows and overall image. Well recommended to you the reader and well spec'd by BEST BUY

I chose this computer based on a few requirements: 1. intel I7 processor and dedicated graphics for Protools, phot editing, and video processing power. It gets the job done nicely. 2. Large capacity storage AND SSD. This machine has both and its hard to find SSD with over a 1TB drive unless you go to work stations. With this laptop, I have the benefit and speed on an SSD and can always upgrade the 2TB traditional drive to a SSD because the components are easy access unlike most of the compact platform laptops today. 3. The touch screen and resolution look and respond amazingly. The only downsides are that some programs are not really 4k ready and menus get distorted. Thats not the fault of the laptop - thats just the pain that comes with being ahead of the game. Lastly, the battery life is so so. It's about 3.5 hours with normal continuous use. Not great, but my last lenovo I7 used for as a digital Audio Workstation barely could get 1 hour out of a 9 cell 48whr battery - so 3+ hours seems great. If you want computing power, graphics, speed, and the ability to change components then look no further. If you want 10+ hrs of surfing and doodling around this isn't what your looking for.

This computer is exactly what I needed, its very fast, graphics are excellent, The SSD coupled with 16gb of ram makes the operating system fast and efficient and the 2Tb drive allows for plenty of data. I use ASUS from laptops to the motherboards I build my PC's with because of their Quality and reliability!!

Unless I was misinformed by Best Buy, this computer has been discontinued by Asus. By the time I decided to pull the trigger on this, I was initially upset to not find this on the floor at Best Buy. The "newer" Asus supposedly taking its place is inferior spec wise & costs less. This model has only been around since about April I believe with excellent reviews. Perhaps it was not selling the way they wanted at that price point. There was one left as an open box and it was marked down from 1499 to 1274, and the BB salesperson knocked a bit more off the price bringing it to 1190. That was a steal & I may have gotten the last of this computer at my local BB if it really is discontinued. After my OCD inspection the computer is perfect, can't see a scratch or any imperfection anywhere. Just setting it up so far, hooked up a blu ray disc drive, wireless mouse, printer, and so far so good on this being as good as brand new. Even for the full priced 1500 this is hard to beat spec wise. Combo of the 16gb of RAM, 512 gb SSD & 2 tb hard drive, i7 processor, 4K display, and premium quality metal material is not just hard to find in other laptops, but desktops as well. I am coming from a 5 yr old more basic Gateway (for about 450) that had run its course. 3 gb ram, no ssd, i3 processor, 320 gb hard drive. In 2011 it was very good but now it is like a turtle to get going. This Asus is like lightning in comparison. From turned off to scanning your face, booting up, and online...probably a bit under 10 seconds. Shut down is almost immediate, 2 to 3 seconds, but if you have the keyboard lit that part shuts off in about 7 seconds. To say this bad boy is a breath of fresh air is an understatement... The touch screen & foldover to tablet features are very nice to have too; however I will probably use the standard laptop mode most of the time on this. My smartphone is my preferred touch screen tablet. If you are wanting this kind of computer and see it still available, even if just an open box (still returnable and with the same warranty), grab it. Especially now since you will get a great deal on it most likely.

The Asus Q534UX is a great value with all of the high end specs they were able to cram in for the price, with the main draw being the beautiful screen. This unit comes equipped with a beautiful 4K resolution screen that is a bit ahead of its time. For the average student, home, or office user the screen, as wonderful as it is, will be more a point of frustration than something you'll actually use. Many software applications, if not most, are not yet designed or updated to display in a 4K format meaning many legacy or infrequently updated applications will be displayed far to small to read, while applications that have been updated will appear crisp and readable but may seem disproportionately small compared to the actual size of the display. That being said, if your main goal is to watch or edit 4K media in its native resolution than you will likely see my complaints as a necessary evil. Beyond the screen there were only a few things that I would want in a "perfect" laptop such as a less fingerprint prone finish (before I clean it mine looks like I used it after working a deep fryer), and a better fan system. The fans seem to do their job of keeping the innards of the laptop from cooking themselves, but with even mildly demanding tasks they get pretty noisy. It could for instance disturb someone in the same room late at night when running on the warm side. Finally, the trackpad is pretty inaccurate out of the box. I had to go into the settings and nearly max out the sensitivity in order to make it usable. I would highly recommend a Bluetooth mouse when using it. Even with the flaws I've described above, the unit is still a great value. First off, this is one of the very very few laptops out there that supports Windows Hello out of the box, which is a feature that uses a built in Kinect-like camera to create a 3D map of your facial features that can be used to identify you and log you in automatically. This works well in my experience so far and makes typing in a password seem very 2015. In addition it supports thunderbolt, USB 3.0 with fast charge, comes with a core i7, 16GB of RAM, and BOTH a 512GB SSD and a huge 2TB HDD along with dedicated Nvidia graphics...wow! And did I mention that it comes in the box, with its own dedicated subwoofer? Yes you read that correctly, this laptop comes with no additional charge, it's own subwoofer that uses a dedicated, seperate-from-your-headphone-jack port. It won't shake your windows, but it definitely adds a significant amount of bass to the already excellent bang and olufsen speakers that are built in. All in all its a fantastic deal for the price, with comparable specs on other units easily costing over hundreds of dollars more, and often lacking a feature here and there such as the subwoofer, and Windows Hello camera. I would highly recommend this laptop for anyone who wants a fast unit, with plenty of storage, great sound, a great screen (if you need 4K), that can handle basic video editing, casual gaming, and anything else you want to throw at it.

So far so god. The only negative thing I have to say is that the little subwoofer that comes with it broke (the connector piece to the subwoofer). Thankfully it did not break in the jack, but when I went to ask Asus if I could send it in to exchange since I felt I had it for 3 days and had not mistreated it... they said I needed to put all that through repairs with Best Buy and I would have to come in to a store to do it. This is definitely not a convenient solution and I wish that their model was more like Dell's in this regard. However, it is a very small component and accessory to the laptop. The laptop itself, I really love the color, the casing, the ability to use as a tablet, the 16gigs of ram, the 2 tbytes of storage space (plus 500 ssd for the boot time), the biometric id (creepy but convenient), and the display. The speakers are not as awesome, but I am also a sound guy and a lot of the time I have it hooked up to a speaker system via audio card, bluetooth, or whatnot, and it's not like I expect laptop speakers to really do it for me anyway. I work with computers all day - I only gave it 4 stars bc I would consider 5 stars to be perfect. All in all, even with any critiques probably my favorite computer I have had in a while.

I set a fairly high bar for my next laptop purchase. I wanted a Core i7 with at least 8GB of RAM, dedicated GPU. I wanted an SSD (for performance) and at least 512GB of storage. My wife wanted a laptop that could be folded back into a tablet. Last but not least I wanted a USB Type-C or DisplayPort 3 port. (I own a nexus 6p wanted to be able to connect my phone via a Type-C to Type C cable and to future proof if USB Type-C continues to grow). I could only find 5 laptops in all of BestBuy.com's inventory that could meet these specifications and I choose this one. I've only purchased Dell and HP laptops in the best and I was sure what I was going to think about an ASUS, but so far I love it. Performance has been great and there's been no issues to speak of so far.

This is a solid laptop. Brilliant 4k screen. Plenty of storage (2.5 TB). Fast! The one drawback is the battery. It failed in less than a year and I had to return the laptop. Despite the warranty, you have to pay shipping to the repair shop. Not cool. And they wipe your hard drives. This is entirely unnecessary to replace a battery. It has, however run well since the repair. I would still recommend this product to friends but would warn them about the problem with the battery.

I have used my system for just under a month. It is fast, lighter than my last laptop and has the ability to add many devices without compromising that speed. It is working well with spreadsheets, programming, virtual machines and databases. Of course it handles word processing, email and web applications. Cloud programs haven't slowed it down. The UHD4K screen provides clarity for movies, digital photography and video editing. Needing an external Blue-Ray has pros and cons. 250 pixels per inch. (pros: easy to replace if upgrading to 4K disc player or if the Blue-Ray fails less time in Geek Squad - even though the plan would cover that, con: an extra item on desk) I preferred to have Windows 10 Pro rather than the Home edition it came with, so I upgraded to it. I'm glad I skipped the Windows 8 / 8.1 Metro interface. This OS brings the best of classic Windows 95 through Windows 7 with a beautiful desktop (not a bunch of squares). It is kept hidden in the menus. The 2-in-1 feature makes it a nice sized tablet rather than a laptop for an airplane (no worries if the person in front of you leans back). The touch screen is a pleasant surprise. I still need to test dual web cam. The processor is a 6th Gen i7 and I see some 7th Gen i7 out now. I don't know how long this system will be available.

What can this computer not do? The 512 SSD lets my computer fully boot in less than ten seconds & with Windows Hello Face recognition on this device I'm logged in near instantly. Thanks to the dedicated NVIDIA Video Card I can complete my graphic design homework with ease as well as do some serious gaming for a laptop. The beautiful 4k display is amazing as well. As usual with ASUS products you have that 2 in 1 feature, great battery life & awesome hardware. Not to mention the thing weighs only around 5 lbs which is light for a computer this powerful. The included subwoofer is also great for just chilling out & listening to some music. Also not to mention this thing is BEAUTIFUL. I would definitely recommend this to any of my fellow college students.

Before I bought this computer, I traveled to Best Buy each week to look at several different ones. I tortured the sales reps with questions on pros, cons, features for each. It took 2 months or 8 trips before I decided. The Asus has what I ultimately wanted. An I7 Intel processer, a 1/2 Terabyte flash drive, a Terabyte hard drive, a dedicated graphics accelerator card, a touch screen, and a great sound system. The flip screen 2 in 1 feature is a bonus, although I rarely use it. I use Auto Cad and this computer has plenty of muscle to run it with no dragging. I purchased the Kapersky security suite and the Office 365 both with multiple licenses when I bought the computer and I never looked back. I love the face sign in feature. I use this baby every day at home. It's my toy and a gift I gave myself with my bonus. It wasn't cheap, but the money I spent on it I don't regret. I don't think you will ether.

This laptop starts up lightning fast, in less than 15 seconds. It has the best of everything you can get with a solid state drive for fast start up and conventional spinning hard drive for large capacity storage. The only thing it does not have is a detachable screen. We are very happy with this laptop and highly recommend it!

Asus is well known for having a nice combination of the assets and components that come with their products, making you get the bang for your buck. This is no exception, and if you manage to get this on a discount, boy, I don't see what you are waiting for. It comes with what it says, 4K resolution, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD, a 950M graphics card, 2TB of Hard Drive, Touch Screen and a flexible and nice looking laptop. The only real downside of this model is that the battery itself lasts too little, 3 hours tops with power save mode. But with power outlets everywhere, that is far from a problem these days.

Pros: Beautiful 4K screen, it is like I am truly seeing for the first time! 16 GB of RAM 2TB HDD and 512 SSD!!! BOTH!!! Excelent touchscreen response and great trackpad too! Really great speakers! Cons: Battery life is pretty sad. I am afraid to travel to far from a plug-in. While the 4K is beautiful, most applications just aren't as cool as those of us who have this cutting edge technology and the resolution and proportions end up looking kind of wonky. Bottom Line: This laptop was so enticing, it convinced me to switch from my Macbook... and I certainly don't regret it!

I was looking into buying a laptop for school. I needed one that would handle all over the applications I would be running. With a 512Gb, and 2Tb hard drive, as well as 16Gb memory, this computer is more than qualified to process all my applications. I bought this planning ahead, knowing that this computer would last me a few years. I could've bought a cheaper one with less memory and no solid state drive, but after a year or so, it would be an antique. If you have the money and want to invest, this laptop will provide all that you need.

The two things that were most important to me were the overall computational capability of the hardware and, second, the connectivity alternatives. The CPU, video card and 512 GB SS drive answered the first issue. The thunderbolt port, drives two 4K monitors, multiple USB 3.0 ports, 512 GB SS drive answer the second. I didn't care that much about 2 TB HD but it is an extra for video editors who don't always work on-line. Everything performed as advertised -- very close to plug-and-;play. This laptop should be able to be part of tech upgrades for at least five years, I think, so in that way a great investment for someone buying a laptop now that they want to keep for a longer run vs a $400 one good for the moment.

This is my 4th computer in a month. Thank God BB allowed me to return the previous 3 terrible computers. As with all things,,, you get what you pay for. Apparently, if you want a 2-in-1 touch screen laptop that works,,, Plan on spending at least $1500. I don't know jack about all the tech stuff so for the sake of keeping this review simple I'll just say this. EVERYTHING works flawlessly and FAST af. It's unfortunate that my journey took me through 3 horrible computers before I found this one. Mostly it was my own fault because I was being cheap and I was sticking to popular brand names like HP and Toshiba. I never EVER thought I would fall in love with an ASUS.... but this thing is the perfect computer and it's FAST AF !!!!
