As soon as I installed this router, buffering issues started instantly. I was attempting to replace my Asus RT-1900AC router just as an upgrade. I could not get the buffering issues to subside on the Blue Cave. It was a total nightmare of an experience. I spent half of a day trying different options. I could not get this router to operate without major buffering issues. I eventually had to return and use my previous router and everything was back to normal. Im not sure if I bought a dud, or this is the normal experience with this router. Either way, I cannot recommend until those issues are ironed out.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For the price when it's on sale (less than $100), it seems like a bargain for an AC2600 router. However, I've found that this router doesn't work well with certain wifi devices. Specifically in my experience, certain TP-Link smart devices like the HS200 smart switch and Eufycam indoor cameras. When trying to connect such devices to the router's wifi, the router itself crashes and all wired/wireless connections to it stop working. Need to reboot the router when this happens and make sure those problematic devices don't try to connect to the router again. I'm pretty sure the issue is with the router and not the client devices. There are lots of reports on the web that you can search for on this issue. I've also read that certain TP-Link smart plugs have the same issue (although I can confirm the HS110 and HS105 smart plugs work fine with the router).

This model undergoes intensive quality control testing and final inspection for both hardware and software. ASUS provides a warranty for the unit in order to fix or repair any isolated issue. 1. Turn the router power off.
2. Press and hold the "WPS" button and turn the router on.
3. Power light is on (keep holding the WPS button).
4. Power light starts flashing for about 5 seconds.
5. Keep holding until the power light stops flashing and the router will automatically reboot.

Having only two bands will limit the backhaul capability, but reviews show it as a good choice for many transfer options. AC86U or AC5300 are faster, but do look like "routers"; this looks very different

It also handles my two networks pretty well and I can add/turn on a guest one when needed. Love it!
