new computer did not come with a much needed cd drive. plugged it in and it works, not much else because that's all it needs to do is work.

Had to purchase after windows 10 deleted my drive on my laptop. Which (windows 10) also made installation more difficult than necessary. Although it was basically plug and play. Haven’t used it much yet but seems to keep up. It DOES have 2 power connections but so far have only used one as I am low on space.

My wife and I bought this CD drive when it was listed among the Best Buy's daily deals. It's fast for its price, and is very durable and portable. It may not be able to read Blu-Ray discs, but for CD and DVD functions, this drive is perfect.

My son's new pc didnt have an optic drive, but this was fairly cheap and works perfect! Plug and play! No issues at all, installs his disc games and runs them, just hook up the 2 usbs to the top of his pc and it's good to go. I'm glad it comes with its own CD install/driver disc just in case, but it wasnt needed.

I purchased this item thinking it would be like any other I have used in the past, but oh boy! was I wrong? By comparison to the last one I used a few years back, this is super quiet and software is intuitive and easy to use. As a Microsoft certified systems engineeer, I highly recommend this product. You will not regret the purchase at all not to mention the price and quality hit the target!

Reads fast enough. Easy to connect and set up. Very compact

This works great for what I use it for. Since my new laptop does not have a DVD/CD slot, I wanted something I could plug into it to play my CDs. It operates easily and works as it should. I haven't had a need to write/rewrite, but for playing, it's perfect.

Worked well for me. I didn't realize it used two USB cables, but I was able to play CDs on my computer with only one of the USB cables plugged in, which was good since my computer doesn't have a second working USB port... That's my only complaint - that it wasn't clear the CD/DVD drive may have needed two ports.

This was an easy install. My only negative on this product is i wish it would have had movie player software instead of just burning software.

Easy to use external hard drive for any laptop that requires a disc drive for any reasons. So you simply unwrap it, insert USB into the laptop port, and wait for the download; if any before writing or burning CD or disc. Highly recommended for any customers or students looking for a great presentation on a disc!

Bought a new pc and it did not have a cd drive. Needed to load some software that is only available via cd. Found this and have been happy with it. It does what it should. I have not tried to write any data, only read.

Easy to set up. Functions well. A big step up from cheaper ones I've had before.

Works as expected, great value. Purchased with a new co.puter that did not have a CD DVD included.

Used it for saving some music to my computer worked great

For the last few years PCs don’t come with an internal disc drive. This one is well built and I’ve used it with zero problems. The connecting cord has 2 male USB connectors. If the main one for data transfer isn’t getting enough power from your computer port to drive it, just plug the second one into another port and the two connections will solve the problem.
