Easy as pie to use, worked just fine right out of the box...couldn't have ask for a better experience.

Works well with laptop. Note that you might have to use 2 USB-A connections close to each other in order to power the reader/writer.

The Asus R/W External DVD was precisely what I needed for a recently purchased small laptop I use for some trips and keeping track of the items I set up for my radio show. Lock, load, and let her rip. CD ready to go. I had a little trouble, (my own ignorance), in dealing with the DVD aspect, but after asking a friend w/more knowledge about such things, I'm off to the races!

This was desperately needed to play an older dvd-rom of very nostalgic film footage. I could not find any current product I had including blu-ray that could play the content. This played seamlessly and perfectly to my laptop! Perfect.

This unit has "two cables"; one for the unit and one for power. One cable goes into the computer and the other for power. Please read this information before you purchase. You need a power source besides the cable into the computer. The “two” cables are USB A; you have to understand what you are buying. We were able to send CD music to computer, save (from computer to write on CD, DVD) Very easy Mac compatible. Has disc for PC. Thank you Best Buy for having it on sale.

Opens and plays CD older LG would not! Must have a bigger buffer or better read head!
