If you ever need a disc drive, run, get this one, now

It worked fine for me. The only thing I didnt like about it was that you have to use two usb plugs and one of the usb is too short to fit. My laptop has usb on each side. Luckly I had a adapter and it all worked out.

Not too much to say bad about this product. It's an external CD\DVD writer that's bus-powered so you don't need a separate AC adapter or Y-cable to use it. Other than that it's pretty run of the mill. Includes some basic software to get you started creating disks but your OS's built-in disk burning utilities are probably better. For the price it's a good choice.

Been using it for a few weeks now, and it's working great. Once or twice a disc wasn't recognized and i had to pop it open and re-close it, but we've been using it heavily and that hasn't happened much. Good device, much better than LG.

Works fine. Reads DVD disks without errors. I'm using this on an Acer laptop and needed a DVD drive. I have no need to write disks, so I haven't tested that feature.

It works yay. So happy i can still use my DVD 's agent guidec me as to what to buy. The one i purchased before would not work witj my computer . So thankful.

I was looking for a portable cd rom to use with my laptop and found this at Best Buy. Hands down, best investment! Includes complimentary software to use, and it reads/writes flawlessly!

Bought for my Asus laptop works fine and its small

Bought this knowing it was inexpensive so I wasn't expecting much. The only complaint I would have is the usb cord is very short , fortunately I have a box "O" cords and found a longer cord.

Works well but the fact that it requires 2 USB ports defeats its portability. It's especially annoying when my laptop has zero USB A ports so I need two dongles to get this to work. Reading of discs is pretty quiet, so that's nice.

Son wanted it for his computer to burn cds a thing of the past but he enjoys it and it works well

A super deal picked up during Black Friday, already made a dvd disk and are very happy with this player.

First, the PC OS I wanted to use the device on is running Windows 11. The entire device felt like it would fall apart if handled too rough. Very flimsy. Loading and unloading DVD takes a very soft touch otherwise you can damage the device very easily while loading and unloading disks. Next was the cable used to attach it to the PC. Extremely short about 12 inches. Connected it to my desktop while my PC was on. System recognized it right away. Went to update drivers but according to the windows OS the best drivers were already loaded. Loaded a game with DVD's. Loaded ok. After that it went downhill. The problem started when the game that was just installed needed to have the PC restarted to complete the installation. If you leave the DVD drive on and attached to the PC during the restart process, it will corrupt the system file and will require a system restore. Luckily, I had just a system restore point before installing the DVD drive. DO NOT LEAVE ATTACHED TO THE PC WHEN STARTING OR RESTARTING YOUR PC. Otherwise, the disk drive works great for reading disks. Haven't tried to burn any CDs yet. Still within the 15 day return window. Kinda up in the air about returning it.

Most of the games I play on my new computer are all digital downloads. I needed to restore data from old CD archives and picked this up. It works perfectly for what I need it for.

Good for the intended use. Two USB plugs isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing.

It’s a bit slow but I could have done better if I knew what I was doing. So the product does what it needs to do as advertised.

Ok unit, wish it was USB C though. Uses two micro USB cables and a type A. Quality of plastic is cheap, but fine.

Daughter loves it easy to hook up to computer and helps her play games on computer

I bought a new laptop that did not have a DVD-CD drive and I needed it to load several programs that I use daily. It works great and has a good speed for downloading. I have not used it yet for Write / Rewrite.
