I purchased this machine on a Black Friday Sale and got a fabulous deal! Purchased to process and render video using adobe products and it does an amazing job. Build wise, it is made of plastic and not metal, but it seems to be durable. Screen is large and crispy clear with 120hz refresh. If I was a gamer, I would love it as well, but it's perfect for my productivity needs on the go! Only quip is the camera isn't fantastic...but usable and the mousepad is kinda weird... Still working on that.

I purchased 3 of these when they were on sale and our family members truly enjoy them. Two were BB Geek Squad Certified Open Box and one was brand new but all 3 were in the same like new condition. The laptop's IPS screen is a bright, the keyboard is backlit and changes color and the laptop is very easy to use. The speakers are OK perhaps a little tinty but acceptable. It plays recent games well like Just Cause 4 and Call of Duty Medal of Honor. Where the kids use it for gaming I use mine primarily for 4K drone video editing. The laptop in my mind is light for a 17 inch gaming laptop, easy to lug around, and not big and bulky. It has an ample number of USB ports on the left side. The head set speaker port projects well. It was very easy to remove the bottom cover to add an additional 8gb of memory (bringing the total to 16gb) and a Gaming Seagate Firecuda 2Tb 2.5" SSHD to the empty HD caddy on each of the 3 laptops bringing the total storage on each to 2.5tb. Getting them on sale and buying these added components also on sale around Black Friday still kept the total price exceptionally reasonable for all 3 laptops. All in all a great addition this holiday season.

Best laptop keyboard (says my wife)

My wife was due for a new laptop this year. Her main gripe on most laptops was that the keyboard was too noisy or just did not feel right. I read some reviews on this laptop and saw several that mentioned the keyboard. Plus, she can adjust the backlight color to suit her mood that day.
As her tech guy, I always prefer gaming laptop performance, since that level of performance is tough to max out, especially considering that my wife does not game.

I use it for school and to play games like Overwatch, Skyrim, Minecraft, etc. It runs all of the games very smoothly. It caps at 70fps on Overwatch, no matter how much i mess around with the display settings. The keyboard is really nice, as well as the IPS display. All in all, it’s a GREAT hybrid laptop for school and gaming.

Watch out for the cheap screen

The laptop was working well overall. Was able to play most games on descent graphic settings. Rust had to be played on low settings and even then it struggled. I upgraded the ram and added a 1gb ssd hard drive. The laptop was always very stiff to open so i would always use two hands, until the day I didn't. I opened it one handed at the top left side of the screen and the lower right side of the screen cracked. When this happens the screen is black and useless. Pulled the laptop apart to get the screen number for a replacement and found out they attached the screen to the plastic cover with double sided sticky tape and two flimsy plastic shims that run the length of the screen. What a horribly cheap setup. The screen is not meant to be replaced and it is the weakest part of the laptop. I am now the proud owner of a $780 paperweight. I will pay for a more quality product next time.

This gaming laptop is fast and does everything I need fast even while using multiple programs at the same time. I plan on maxing out the ram and eventually upgrading the CPU to a ryzen threadripper.

I purchased this item for my son. It has been only a few days since he received the laptop and it has crashed on him three times. The graphics for the laptop are awesome when it works. The laptop has different modes for the fan depending on your usage. The sound quality is amazing. We haven’t returned it yet or taken it to be checked out. If it should happen again, then it really warrants a visit by the geek squad. Not sure if it can’t handle the Additional software that has Been downloaded or if it’s the laptop itself. But overall, not bad but has it’s glitches and purchased when on sale.

The only drawback this thing had when I got it was only 8GB of ram, but adding more is pretty easy. So far rocks all the games I've thrown at it.

Overall this is a decent laptop for what I paid for it. I got it on sale for ~$650 before tax. It runs Destiny 2 just fine and handles streaming from my PS4 like a champ. Overall I like this laptop my only two complaints are that the cooling fans are quite loud when the kick in fully and that you have to have to download TUF Aura Core from the microsoft store to input settings for the RGB keyboard, I feel like that software should've been pre-installed. Other than that I'm really happy with this purchase and would totally do it again.

Have had it now for nearly 2 years. I upgraded the RAM to 16GB and installed a second SSD drive that was 1TB in size. Still running strong 2 years later. Running Forza Horizon 5 on it in Medium to High Graphic settings. Looks great on the 17" screen. Hooked it up to my 75" 4K TV and was blown away. Very suprised the GTX 1650 can run the resolution so well. This thing is fast! Never had any issues and it gets left powered on almost always. Looking at upgrading. Definitely going back and look at the new models of these.
