This review was difficult to word... I love this card. It was great, but I keep looking at the absolutely horrendous price that Nvidia gave it. In 2011, I bought a Nvidia GTX 480 reference card for about $400.. the RTX 4080 reference card is over $1,200 when you do the real math. Knowing this, spending over $1,700+ after tax/etc... for this AIB card, it was a tough decision to make. Performance for this card is as expected, it's a *little* improvement over my RX6950XT for rasterization and immense for RT, but truth be told, it wasn't worth the price.. If you have an RTX 2080, it would be worth it more to uprade to this card. If you own a RTX 3080 or RX6900/6950XT, I'd keep it for value and sensibility. All in all, I see performance improvements, but I don't feel like the inflated price was worth it. That is the justification behind my ratings. If this card was priced around $850 or closer, I'd would have given it 5/5 across the board. It's a good card with a good performance uplift and it's built very very well, the PRICE though Nvidia, come on... If I find a 4090 with some luck, I may return this card for it. But I don't see that happening within my return window, so I may settle for it.

    A Premium Card

Love this card. It's more expensive than I would like and had BestBuy had a different one in stock that was cheaper, I would have bought that one instead, but it really is a premium card. It feels incredible to hold and the build quality is really nice. Not a huge fan of the red and blue on the fan side of the card, but it's facing down in my build so I will never see it. Only downside so far is the fact I can't get the Asus software to show the card so I can't adjust the RGB. As for performance, I am hitting 260 FPS at 1440p in Modern Warfare II. I have it paired with a 13900k and 32GB of DDR5 ram, and it's just killing it. If you can afford it, definitely pull the trigger. Last thing, I saw another review mention coil whine, but thankfully my card doesn't have any.

    Excellent performance

Excellent performance, I got it for 1800 dollars, to play in 1080p (for now) in which I change my monitor, but excellent equipment and it does justice to its size because it does not exceed 61°C in titles such as Halo Infinite, Portal with Rtx, COD MWII, Cyberpunk 2077 and Fly Simulator all at more than 80fps, all in ultra on a borrowed 4k monitor, in my case it hasn't exceeded 320W of consumption. COUPLED TO A 13900kf AND 32GB DDR5 6000MHZ, it barely exceeded 650W at full load in the benchmarks, so I have more than enough of the 850W PSU. In short: expensive? Yes, but it's worth every penny... Penny.

Its big, its expensive, it requires another type of power cable. (3 way adapter is included). It performs well, though the cost per frame is bad. I should have just got the 4090 instead.

Playing at 1440p this card does everything I need it too. Paired with a 5800X3D Im able to get 120-165 fps on the new resident evil 4 remake with RTX enabled and all settings maxed. The card is ridiculously fast as well as being the best looking card in its class.

This video card is 1 of the best i ever bought, from being able to play games at max settings to everyday use, i can barely hear the fans when they spin up during game play, and when im just working on other stuff, fans stay completely off.

Many are saying the 4080, especially the strix edition is a waste due to the gap in performance with the 4090. To that, I say it depends on what resolution you are playing in. I bought this card playing in 3440 x 1440. I think it's perfect for this particular resolution. The gap in performance with the 4080 and 4090 is only large in 4K.. if you look up 1440p or 1440p ultrawide results, it's not as significant. The 4090 excels in 4k and if I was playing in 4k, I would've only considered the 4090. So, I say if you're just trying to maximize your high frames in 1440p, this is a great card for that. The strix in particular is great, I got it on sale for 1400ish bucks which isnt too bad considering its normally 1550. It runs very cool under load, I wasn't exceeding 50c. Power draw is significantly less than my 3080. My 3080 was pulling close to 400 watts. This card barely pulls 300w. Last thing, it is HUGE. Make sure you double check dimensions, it BARELY fit in my case lol. All in all, I'm happy getting a high quality 4080 as it is great for anything under 4k. I did not notice any coil whine.

Upgraded to this from the 10 GB Strix 3080. I hesitated for for a while because I thought it would be a pointless upgrade. On a whim I purchased this thinking I could return it if I didn't see a difference but I'm glad I picked it up. Runs so much quieter than my 3080. The 3080 had so much coil noise for me. The 4080 also runs cooler and uses less power. Noticeable difference in FPS too. I don't care about ray tracing, I just want to run games on Ultra at 1440p at my monitors refresh rate which is 165 Hz. The 4080 achieves that where my 3080 struggled.

Great graphics card at 1440p! not a big gamer on 4k resolution since monitors to support 4k 144hz are very expensive. Great FPS numbers on demanding games like Call Of Duty MW2, at 1440p Ultra DLSS Performance setting I’m getting around 260 FPS. Which is awesome since it’s matching my 1440p 240hz gaming monitor. Games like Valorant and CSGO I’m reaching around 700-800 FPS. The card performs great as well during streaming as I currently have a single PC setup, Im using the Nvenc encoder built into the card which is supposed to not affect in game FPS while streaming. Even though it does still affect in game FPS, it’s only a 10-20 FPS drop in game, for example on MW2 I get 260 FPS while gaming but when I turn on my twitch stream it lowers to around 230-240 FPS which isn’t a problem for me since it still matches my 240hz monitor for a smooth gaming experience while streaming. Noise levels on the card are very low even when im pushing the card to its limits. Temperatures on the card are great even though the case I have has very good airflow the GPU temps are lower than my 3070 that im upgrading from. There are some reports of coil whine from the card but luckily that has not happened yet to my card as a few cards are like that to my knowledge. Overall this 4080 is a beast of a graphics card and would recommend to anyone if they have the money to buy it since it is the most expensive 4080 card on the market at the moment. But like people say, you get what you pay for!

I was not looking to spend more than I had to but after a few reviews, I decided why not. Definitely runs cool, even with the fans on auto and it does not get loud at all. Performance speaks for itself but the few degrees cooler (in Celsius) and the lack of noise in comparison to 30 series, really got me.
