Of course, Sergeant Valdes. Here’s the revised version with that added in—still sharp and direct:
---
I’m torn on this one. The GPU performance is great—I’ve genuinely enjoyed it. That said, I would’ve chosen the white variant if it had been available at Best Buy at the time of purchase.
This was listed as “open-box excellent,” but the box arrived not looking so excellent, and some of the accessories (the included extras) were missing. That was disappointing right out of the gate.
What ultimately brought this down to 3 stars is the warranty situation. Even as a Total member, I was told I couldn’t add additional protection. After speaking with an ASUS rep, I was informed that if anything happens to this open-box card and the original warranty was already claimed, there’s nothing I can do. At this price point, that’s a huge risk.
With GPU prices already sky-high, a card hovering around a $1K MSRP selling for nearly double should absolutely come with some form of protection. Between the condition not fully matching the listing, limited color options, lack of warranty security, and inflated pricing, I couldn’t justify rating it higher.
If you don’t care about purchase protection and just want top-tier performance from one of the most respected names in gaming hardware, it delivers. But I wouldn’t recommend paying anywhere near current “new GPU” prices without guaranteed coverage.

Coming from a 9070XT, which is very good for the money. I was having some input lag issues on random competitive shooter type games. The Astral 5080 solves all those issues and more. Price tag is a little steep for some but hands down the best graphics card I’ve ever owned. I would purchase again without hesitation.

An amazing gpu may be a little pricey for some but I’m very happy with my purchase. I originally wanted a 5090 but got booted out during the verification process so ended up with this one for the mean time. It has gave me exceptional performance especially while over clocking. Would recommend to anyone that has the budget but cant obtain a 5090 at a reasonable price.

Got this to replace my Strix Rtx 4080 due to vram shortages and price hikes. Who knows next gen gpus might be scarce or piced higg. This card runs and performs better than my 4080 hands down.

This card is a beast, all you need for gaming, anything higher is just an overkill unless you're into other projects (e.g., AI, 3D Design, etc.). Most games run maxed out (4K, etc.) without any issues. Make sure you pair it up with a good processor.

Just upgraded to the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 and it’s absolutely insane. Straight out of the box, the build quality feels premium—solid metal shroud, sleek black finish, and the RGB lighting is super clean without being over the top. Performance-wise, it's a monster. I’m getting buttery-smooth frame rates in every game I’ve thrown at it, including stuff at 4K with ray tracing maxed out.
The cooling is impressive too—quad fans and some kind of vapor chamber setup. It stays cool under load and stays whisper quiet until things really heat up. I did notice a bit of coil whine during heavy gaming sessions, but it's not too distracting. Only minor gripe is the RGB and overclocking software can be a little finicky sometimes.
Overall, if you're looking to build a high-end rig or just want next-gen performance without compromise, this card delivers. It's expensive, yeah, but it feels worth it.

Spent almost 2000 dollars to receive a used card full of dog hair in a crumpled retail box. If you order this or any other card, be sure to pick it up in store that way you can not have to go through what I went through.

Was simply looking to get into a 50-series card for future proofing my system. This card is MASSIVE and extremely heavy. It does come with a device to help with sag. I has 4 fans for exceptional cooling. It barely gets hot under a consistent load. In comparison to my 4090 equipped system, the biggest difference is the VRAM. 16GB is ok for today, but will not cut it for the future keeping the 4090 powerhouse in the mix for a while. Head-to-head, these cards perform similar in my day-to-day use. The 5080 does draw less power making it a little easier on the electric bill. The card is extremely quiet making no audible sounds such as coil whine or any other things I have read about. I purchased it from Best Buy who delivered it within 2-days of purchase. Other than the enormous markup on this card over MSRP, I am pleased with the purchase overall. I would recommend this card to friends with the warning of its very high cost to purchase.

Absolute beast of a GPU. Super fast, runs great, and looks awesome. Noise doesn't bother me at all. Only warning: it's huge, so make sure it fits your case!

I absolutely love this card this card looks so nice!! For anyone who wants an rtx 5080 i would recommend a cheaper one based on your budget but i love the way this card looks, performs, and the temperatures are really low to the point the fans only spin up to 500 rpm
