    A year has past since i bought this laptop, and decided to upgrade the rams today just to notice that its missing a couple of screws, which makes me think that this was not a brand new laptop, just a heads up to anyone planning to purchase this laptop, also i have been dealing with high cpu temperatures which is getting much worse over time, and you will start getting the BSOD pretty frequently the more you stress the laptop when gaming.

      We do understand your concern about a missing screw and the thermal issues you are experiencing. This laptop doesn't comes with screws, you do not need screws to upgrade the RAM. Regarding the excessive hear it is normal that excessive heat is generated while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

      To resolve the stability or blue-screen issues, ensure Windows, drivers, BIOS, games and applications are up to date. Updates for this laptop are available from our product support page at:  https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-g18-2024/helpdesk_download/ . Keeping the laptop updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.     POOR QUALITY - NOT RECOMMENDED

    As background, I have been a loyal customer of ASUS, my first gaming laptop I bought in 2018, and it worked very well for 5 years, for this reason I decided to buy a new laptop brand ASUS, however this time, it has been a tremendously bad experience, the new gaming laptops come with two types of thermal paste, and need more cooling, the system that ASUS offers and provides is not enough, and they do not tell you to buy a PAD COOLER to maintain the temperature. Within 6 months of my purchase, the graphic started to fail, slow games, the laptop restarted. Take into account that it only took 6 months, after that, it could be verified that I had metalic liquid from the paste under the GPU processor, basically my laptop is no longer useful to play games and no one has taken responsibility for this situation.     Thr Bluetooth will not pair to anything longer than seconds. Everything SEEMS to work but it seems like everything i buy from best buy has been junk lately so maybe it will get worse

    I don't know if it is Windows or Hardware, with other windows laptop, I always experience screen flicker and screen freezing up even with the latest updates, I am not surprised that this did the same thing. I cannot suggest getting this laptop just because for college applications, I can just buy a macbook pro 14inch for 1000 dollars cheaper. If you really want to game, please build your own PC rig, it will be better I presume.

    I hate this computer. I went with this one only because it had the right key pad and the Razor I wanted didn’t. Constant glitches, sound goes off randomly when you switch between windows, so you aré screwed if you are trying to present something professionally! No face recognition sign in, so get ready to type in that password. Constant software glitches with my mouse because of the Asus Bluetooth software. The list goes on and on and on. Go for the Razor. You will thank me later.

    This review is about the poor customer service I received from Best Buy. Never in all the years shopping at this chain have I received such horrendous “service” which will make me pause before making any further purchases. If you call them, you do not get a store, you get someone overseas who tells you that you can return your product to any store. This is a lie as I was only allowed to return this defective laptop to the store in Tustin. I made multiple complaints to the people on the phone about none of the stores by me allowing the return and they proceeded to assure me that I could. There is obviously ZERO communication between the stores and the over the phone service providers. I was also told by the Chino store that they wouldn’t accept the return as it was a high dollar laptop. Are you kidding me?! You sell MacBooks that are over 3k. This is why customers buy from Amazon. Very disappointing experience which, if not remedied, will lose customers.

    Expensive Junk Lasted Only 1 Year

    This laptop was great for 1 year. It died 1 week after the manufacturer warranty ended. I forgot to buy the additional insurance on it too. Manufacturer wont do anything for it. I spent over $3,000 on this thing thats essentially a brick now. Took it for a diagnostic and was told it requires a whole new motherboard. I've never regretted buying anything from Best Buy before, but this laptop was a huge mistake.
