Customers value the ROG Zephyrus 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop's performance, build quality, and graphics capabilities, frequently praising its excellent gaming performance and portability. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's tendency to overheat and generate noticeable fan noise, while others find the speakers and lack of a built-in webcam to be shortcomings. Positive feedback also highlights the laptop's impressive refresh rate and comfortable keyboard. The lightweight design is another frequently cited advantage.

Purchased this gaming laptop 2 years ago and it works just as great as the first day I bought it. Runs all of the games very smoothly even the new games they have come out recently. Great to us for students and for business purposes. Great purchase. Highly Recommend this laptop.

Fast great looking gaming device with a few issues

The size and weight of this device are exactly what I want in a laptop of this caliber! Insanely fast in every benchmark & daily usage task it performs. Really really insane performance for the price (on sale under 2k with tax!) However that performance comes with a cost and the battery life while downloading games and watching some videos has a little to be desired, I can only get about 3.5/4 hours with the laptop in its default state, however lowering the refresh rate and making a few other adjustments you can squeeze just about 5 hours, but still not as much as I was expecting even with a hefty 90kwh battery! The CPU while doing normal tasks on & off battery power regularly exceeds 80C & while gaming reached a maximum of 89.3C playing Halo Infinite multiplayer (the main game I plan to play on this device) for around an hour, while it’s not the worst, it definitely limits clock speeds so don’t expect anything passed 3.2ghz out of these 8 cores. But luckily it doesn’t throttle, since the ceiling is so high (105C!!) so at least the performance doesn’t degrade while using the device. The GPU stays in a very comfortable temperature range of 70-73C while gaming in Halo Infinite multiplayer. Settings are default that puts at high quality & runs at about 100FPS which is super smooth and looks amazing on its screen. For me the device does not get hot enough not to touch it, but does feel a little uncomfortable on the lap, definitely a “desk” laptop and not a couch gaming device. Sometimes on some surfaces for some reason the device doesn’t feel perfectly level, and the right side wobbles a few millimeters making me feel like the device is warped. My only real QC complaint is that it seems slightly off like a chair that isn’t perfectly on the ground at times. Biggest negative I hope ASUS listens to is please stop soldering RAM to the motherboard, as it is typically one of the most common points of failure in any PC, and if one module fails the whole device is rendered unusable. I can only hope for the longevity of this laptop but I have a feeling it will be rather short. I would maybe look to other options in the future if this devices fails but for now I put my faith in ASUS for hopefully making a laptop that lasts 3+ years

This is ridiculous. Asus is a garbage company that makes garbage products. This is legitimately my 4th try to get a non defective laptop from them and my 4th defective laptop. This one arrived with dead pixels on the screen. They claim there is no known issues, yet this is my 4th try. Spend your money on something that wont be defective out of the box. They will also have their staff do some damage controll by commenting on this post, but they are of 0 help. Avoid this headace and get something that works correctly.

Hands down one of the best laptops you will ever get. There are some pros and cons, The cons of this laptop are only when you first open it out of the box and start typing. If you are like me I just type really fast So working with stiff keys at the start was slightly stressful but over time they become just right. It can run hot when you start maxing out every setting Now the Pros... One of the most customizable laptops that exist. With the laptop, you have the option to change between 3 settings, Silent, Performance, and Turbo. Silent doesn't make any noise even if you play games like Destiny you will barely notice the graphic difference. Performance and Turbo increase the graphics and overall performance but you most likely will hardly tell the difference depending on the game. However, once those settings are on it can get hot and the fans may be loud, but you barely notice them with the amazing sound quality of this computer. You have the ability to customize the audio quality which is very very nice. Oh, and if you are like me I keep my laptop plugged in at all times and don't want to degrade my battery. This laptop will allow you to set the max battery percentage to 60% so you don't cause any wear and tear on the system. I'll be real, I was hesitant to buy this laptop forever due to the price and was scared of wasting my money on a computer that doesn't work. But after taking that leap of faith it was worth it. I would personally not let anyone discourage you from buying this laptop. Now if you are a person who focuses on every little detail you might be able to tell the difference in graphics between a 3090 TI and a 3080, but personally, I can't and I think it is as comparable to my brother's Computer setup. It runs all my modeling software very smoothly and runs everything pretty fast like code. When I first watched reviews on this laptop I thought the screen was going to be small and everything was going to be smooshed, but in reality, it's not, and feels like I am staring at a TV most of the time. You also have the customization to experience different screen settings depending on the game. It is customizable to the user/ The computer comes with an LED keyboard that has a few different settings and customizable lighting. It is a powerhouse of a laptop and I recommend it. Especially if it is 400 dollars off right now, It is totally worth it if you use it all the time. Feel free to ask any questions if you are still unsure to purchase this beauty of a laptop.

Never have I used a PC notebook as good as this one. This thing is definitely great at gaming, has awesome battery life, is lightweight, a good screen, and is fast. The trackpad is as good as my MacBook pro, which is saying alot. I've owned several notebooks over the years and this one is by far the best. Only downsides are it gets a bit noisy when in turbo and it puts off a bit of heat, both negatives I feel are unavoidable when using a laptop for gaming.

Pros: Build quality on mine is pretty good. No noticeable issues. RTX 3080 GPU, although it's only 80W, has no issues running my games at max settings. Love the 165Hz refresh rate on a laptop, especially a 1440p IPS panel. Cons: Only one memory module that can be upgraded (half the memory is soldered to the motherboard The max brightness of the panel could be better. Hard to see in direct sunlight. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of this laptop. I don't play a lot of demanding AAA games, so I'm willing to accept some compromises in terms of power in exchange for a laptop that looks sleek and not too over-the-top. I miss signing in with Windows Hello on my Surface Pro 4, but a fingerprint scanner works just fine.

I just got this laptop last Saturday, and it's great! The screen is exceptionally beautiful to use at 1440p and the 165hz really does help make the screen smooth and playable in games like Minecraft with shaders; on 1.19.2 on the Iris and Sodium launcher with Sidhurs lite and Complementary shaders I have been getting at least 130 FPS minimum on the 1440p display and 140 on FHD. I have yet to test this with fortnite, roblox, and apex legends but I am sure this computer will do exceptionally well at rendering the graphics, considering the 3080 chipset. As of writing this right now, this laptop can last around 10 hours if you use extreme battery saving tactics. The keyboard is also really mushy but very comfortable to type on, its as if I am typing on a premium ultrabook from HP and Dell. The trackpad is really huge as well and I feel really comfortable using it, its as if this computer was a macbook pro with an M1 chip but built for gaming on windows 10. My only downside is the price-to-performance ratio on this laptop. I paid $1700 after a price match but I don't think its justified given that the RTX3080 is shown to underperform compared its 3070 counterpart. Overall, I love this device. It lasts a while and has an excellent, premium build quality and I recommend using this device on the go as well. What also helped me the most to get the most battery life out of this machine is by following the battery guides on both the r/ZephyrusG15 and r/ZephyrusG14 subreddit communities on the Reddit messaging board platform, they are extremely helpful in getting the battery life ASUS claims these devices have.

Very good laptop, I use for architecture school and programs. Have not had a problem since I’ve gotten this laptop. I use AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Suite, as well as Rendering softwares such as Lumion, Enscape, Vray. One thing I love about this laptop is the light weight but durable exterior and the screen itself is great for viewing drawings/documents wether outside or inside. I carry it everywhere as well for productivity and for some gaming. I use steam and have at least ram Diablo IV, Satisfactory, GTAV, League of Legends, Valorant, etc. all have ran smoothly no issues

Asus needs better quality control. Got it Wednesday. Took it back Sunday and got refunded. Out of the box the speakers sounded horrible. Very tinny, No bass what so ever. Now it was probably blown speakers out of the factory but I wasn't risking it. I tried 4 days of trying everything. I talked to Asus tech, Microsoft tech, Tried numerous Drivers, PC resets, etc. Asus tech finally gave up and said take it back to the store of purchase. OK that was the bad. Here is the good. Runs cool, Very cool. As long as you under volt it by 1% You can maintain 80 C. Playing a highly modified GTA V game maxed out settings average 60 FPS. lows 33 FPS. Battery life surprisingly was very good. Not gaming on battery of course. Build quality other than the speakers being blown was excellent. I always buy Asus but after the fiasco with my Asus ROG G703GXR GPU going bad after only 2 years. I switched to a Razer blade 14. That one only lasted 4 months when the GPU went bad on that. I'm done with trying to play high end modded games on laptops. I purchased a gaming desktop PC. I would only recommend this laptop if you're just using it for un modded AAA games. I've read other reviews where the speakers were blown or blew after a few days. If you wear headphones while gaming then this won't be an issue either way. As for me I only play with headphones on when my wife is watching TV.

    15" Laptop with RTX 3080

This was one of a series of laptops I was looking to upgrade to. I wanted a Ryzen 9 chip with a RTX 3080 graphics card. Wanted power when needed but also something portable. The higher wattage 3080 laptops are 16" and up. So although this is under-volted, the power to weight ratio is a sweet spot for me. The lighter weight than other laptops in this class is due to the mostly plastic construction. I prefer a more solid build but I am coming from MacBooks so... Also, I wish the screen could be slightly better? (Although still plenty good.) I wish it could be slightly brighter and I am not sure how to describe it, but inputs feel slightly laggy. It's not slow, but I wouldn't call it snappy with a hi-res image with a lot of motion....

Great laptop, would definitely recommend for someone who wants good graphics. I'm no computer mastermind or expert though, and this review is from the viewpoint of a rookie. The battery life is phenomenal compared to my old gaming laptops, and can easily run 6+ hours on battery (when not playing games). Maybe I lucked out but there's no screen bleed or dead pixels, as the last model had issues with. I'm a bit miffed that there's no camera, but it makes up for it with its extremely small size. It fits much more easily in bags with laptop sleeves than my last laptop. Speed is great and the 3080 doesn't feel underpowered at all, e.g. Roblox - 300 fps (Max graphics), Osu - 330 fps (max, with compatibility mode on or off), Minecraft - 280 fps (w/o shaders). Only problem is if you forget to shut it off and only close the lid, the laptop stays on or something and maintains a consistent 55-60 degree Celsius internal temperature. It uses a bit of battery too, so if you're planning on bringing it anywhere, make sure to shut it off first. The keyboard also feels like it has a slightly higher actuation force compared to other ROG laptop membrane keyboards I've used, but maybe that's just because its new.

Hello, I'm not too sure how long it's been since I've bought this but I am sure of my experience. I'll start off with the issues I guess. 1. HOT device - Laptop is super hot unless you turn off CPU boost, afterwards it's still hot so if you're gaming, DO NOT use your hands on this keyboard, the keyboard itself will be hot to touch because air travels up on the keys. Even if temps are 70's on CPU and GPU, it will burn your lap. If you're not gaming it'll still get pretty hot especially on silent mode because it doesn't use much air. So yeah, use external keyboard to game and optimize this laptop like I did unless you wanna burn those fingers. 2. 3080 max q -It's GPU shouldn't have an actual difference against the 3070 model, they're both max q with means they use the same wattage and they're both 8 gigs of vram which means this 3080 and 3070 the exact same! 3. Quality issues - I'm sure everyone knows that the zephyrus lineup really loves its quality issues, make sure to get that extended warranty on this thing especially since hot air hits the actual screen 4. Keyboard - The keyboard isn't bad, but if you're doing anything that's not light work, the laptop will get hot and the air actually travels up the keyboard, which means the heat will be hitting your keys, creating extra resistance on the keys and making them warm. 5. I'm done with the negatives, basically if you want thin and light, it'll do the work just fine however if you want to game on it, absolutely do not unless you optimize it and get a external keyboard. Only recommending this if you take my advice.

Unbelievable performance and quality for the price. My only complaint is that you cannot easily upgrade the RAM. The processor and the 3080 run starfield with no issues on high level settings.
