    Great multi-floor router

    Great router that has many modern features and easy to use menu system. I have 2 with the 2nd set up as a wireless access point. Firesticks and the like need to be connected to an IoT network though. This requirement is new to me, but i had to figure it out myself.

    Shame on You Best Buy

    The device itself is great when working, but I got a bad one which happens. But after a lot of talking with Asus and there warranty the real bad guys are Best Buy. The deal with Asus is that Best Buy is a Authorized repair location for Asus and they should honor the Manufactures 3 year warranty, but instead want you to buy another warranty from them before they will help you after 14 days which then you must go to the devices Manufacture to get a repair. So I did but should have been able to take to Best Buy and they should have handled everything but because I did not buy there extended warranty they would not. Remember the device already has 3 years why should I need another warranty when Best Buy is a Authorized repair location for Asus.

    DO NOT BUY THIS ROUTER

    I have owned this router for about 4 weeks. The good: It has a good web interface and is easy to setup. Speed is good. Able to get 1400mbs on speed test, both wired and wifi on a 1200mbs internet connection. When it works. The bad: This router reboots randomly. Can’t even watch a whole movie without interruption. Video conferencing is out of the question. So far today it rebooted at (from the system logs): 5:51 09:24 10:02 10:07 10:21 11:29 11:34 12:46 12:51 15:17 17:47 Lots of posts online with the same issue. So I am not the only one. A router that doesn’t stay up is no more than a paperweight.

    If you need a Wifi 7 router, get this one!

    My router died on me randomly and after stopping down by best buy i was able to pick this router and havent had a problem since. Super fast speeds

    I find this router to be excellent. There are many negative reviews, but I have had no problem at all with the router. Speed is amazing, setup was very easy. Note that I have updated the router to the latest firmware as I write this review (March 8, 2025)

    Don’t be fooled by all the raving reviews

    I went off the reviews posted here at Best-buy. Two weeks in, I have had the most frustrating experience. This router will randomly drop all of your devices and remain offline from 10 minutes to over an hour. Not good when you have work and security depending on it. I never had a single issue with my Asus WiFi 6 router. I reset multiple times, changed settings per the Asus support forums and could never figure it out. Ended up taking it back and getting another model router. If you need reliable internet, please looks elsewhere.

    This entire line of asus routers apparently has issues as it very difficult to find any router from them OVER 4 stars. Come on asus get your act together

    Constantly keeps on disconnecting

    Wifi speed is great but it makes it very useless if its constanly powering off and rebooting itself. My netgear modem that is showing consistent connection while the asus is powering off

    Love this router great addition to my current mesh system as the primary router. I'm also able to see the difference in my wifi since the other router have a 2.5 backhaul back while utilizing a 10g WAN.

    I have tried two Asus routers and let’s just say, you usually get what you pay for however with this router you get less for more. Setting up is simple but consistent coverage is lacking. Wi-Fi randomly drops out. The fiddle with it and try to fix it factor is extremely high. The router is buggy and leaves so much to be desired.

    Decent, for a small area

    Bought this to replace Google Pro WiFi for WiFi 7, most things worked, but a few devices would just die for no reason. Had to return unit.

    Disconnects a lot

    We purchased this router several months ago and it has been a constant headache. We have a lot of equipment between two home offices, kids faming systems, security cameras, and "smart devices". Most features, like QoS, has to be kept off since it utilitizes a RAM and kicks everything offline. In fact, almost every feature this thing has is unusable for this very reason. What is the point of having these features. We've found many others online experiencing the same issues with this model. Asus used to make a great router and we're disappointed by how much we spend troubleshooting and restarting.

To resolve this issue, check if the router’s security settings matches with your ISP’s modem credentials, verify if the PC or device connecting to the router is working properly and within range to the router, the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6E or WIFI-7, check updates for these devices. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Try resetting the mesh routers and reconfigure or set up the devices. Also, we recommend updating the router's firmware if it is running with an older version. The most current version is posted at:  https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/wifi-7/all-series/asus-rt-be92u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-RT-BE92U . Furthermore, place this router in a central location within your home, away from walls and obstructions, keep it elevated off the floor and away from electronic devices that may cause interference.

    Great router it makes an excellent hub too for my Ethernet connection.VPN functionality is much simpler than my older router.Well made router.

    Shame on me for not doing my homework. I naively trusted an Asus brand product. Regretfully, I did not discover the error of my ways until it was too late to return it. As so many others have posted (here and on other sites), I have had issues with unstable connections, with dropped devices, with 1 core of the internal processor running 100%, with spontaneous reboots, with the system log recording the same thermal zone fault every 3 seconds, with a very restricted 6G range, etc. Hoping (but unfortunately not expecting) that a firmware update will correct these problems, I check daily for such an update. In the meantime, I have purchased another router which is doing fine.

    Smaller Footprint Than 96u But Better

    I will preface my review with the fact that I am familiar with ASUS routers. I bought the BE92U with a much smaller footprint to replace the much larger BE96U that I had had for a while. My home is a 2-story townhouse, and I had an AI mesh network set up on the 96U, so I needed that on the new 92U router. Set up was simple using my web browser. For me, there was no real need to change default settings of the router itself. I did use my Asus RT82 and RT86 routers to reestablish my AI Mesh network, with the RT82 in my main bedroom and the RT86 in my office/game room. Once I reset those 2 and set them up as mesh nodes, they were recognized by this router, and everything is working fine in all 3 bands. Additionally, I was able to set up and use an external USB drive as a Network drive. I definitely recommend this router. (BTW, firmware is the latest).

    Great router. Much better then the 6e tp link router i replaced it with. The tp link had more antennas even and this asus router seems to have better range and connectivity.

    Died after a few months

    I recently bought this a few months ago and it worked good for the month of use I got out of it. Then I had to go out of town for a month and upon my return, found that the router had died. No power, no lights flashing, just nothing. I tried a different power supply that matched the same plug, voltage and amps and still nothing. This was my first time buying an Asus router and will be my last. Will not recommend this router to anyone I know.

    Solid choice

    I'd been looking at Wifi 6E routers for a while when I noticed Wifi 7 was available. After spending time on several models I choice this one based on the features. Solid router and a decent price point for Wifi 7.
