The Do Everything Laptop: ASUS Vivobook S 14
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the ASUS Vivobook S 14 to be my do-everything laptop, and it’s been exactly that. The OLED display is the star text is crisp, colors pop, and Netflix looks ridiculous (in a good way). Battery life easily gets me through a full day of classes/work without outlet anxiety. It’s light enough to throw in a backpack, the keyboard feels great for long writing sessions, and the port selection (USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, microSD, headphone jack) means I rarely reach for a dongle. Performance is snappy for docs, 20+ browser tabs, Zoom, and light photo edits. It’s quiet under normal use, too. Downsides? The glossy screen reflects bright lights, and this isn’t a gaming/workstation rig no dedicated GPU but that’s expected at this size and price. Bottom line: If you want a portable 14" with a gorgeous OLED and legit all-day battery, the Vivobook S 14 hits the sweet spot.

Works as advertised!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got a great deal on this laptop! I got it on sale for $499. Retail price for this is $949. The laptop is small, light, and very portable. The battery life on this is really good so far. The OLED display is very clear and crisp. There is a little bit of bloat ASUS software. But all of it is useful and I recommend not removing it. The buying process was easy as I did an in-store pickup.

Fast, slim laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this thing for a couple months, I have to say this laptop is amazing. I use it for school and for work. The specs can handle what you expect them to handle - multiple programs running, zoom meetings, entertainment, the whole package. The battery life is the main reason I bought this laptop, and it lives up to its expectations. Under lighter load it can easily last all day, maybe even leave you with 30-40% battery at the end of the day. Under continuous, heavier load it still lasts for 8+ hours. It charges really fast as well. The laptop also doesn't seem to overheat/get too hot. I have not tested any games, however. The screen is beautiful since it's OLED. It's only 60 Hz, but in reality if you're not playing games on it, I don't see an issue with it not being 144 Hz. A downside that it's OLED is the fact that burn-in can occur, so I set the screen to turn off after a couple minutes of no use to prevent this from happening. The keyboard has a top-notch feel. The touchpad is okay, nothing amazing. It's fast, just not as snippy/fast as a more premium touchpad but it gets the job done well. I'd give it an 8/10. The overall build quality is nice. It's lightweight and slim, great for taking to and from the office. Like other reviews say, it's a fingerprint magnet, which I don't personally care about - it's the hardware I'm buying. Speakers are great and use Dolby Access for equalizer and sound preferences. Built-in Copilot is nice to have - pulls up AI in the press of a button (there is a special Copilot key). I personally like Asus software , especially GlideX which lets you use your phone or tablet as a 2nd or 3rd monitor, among other features. In terms of specs, the Ultra V2 i5 is suuper fast (I may be biased since upgrading from a Gen7 i7 laptop) but nonetheless, very reliable. 16GB of RAM is just enough to juggle a ton of office/school work. It has both USB-A ports and USB-C ports, as well as HDMI - so great connectivity. No LAN port, but if you're using this outside of home on wifi, that doesn't really matter. Overall I think this is a great laptop, and at the price of $450 I got it at when on sale, I think it's an absolute steal.

Powerful, Versatile and Portable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this Asus Vivobook provides a good compromise between power, versatility and portability. It’s powerful enough to handle most home and business applications and is light enough to travel. It also opens the door to anyone wanting to explore AI apps. The beautiful display and small profile make it a go-to option for anyone needing a laptop. Pros: - Bright and beautiful OLED screen - Intel Utra 5 processor with 16 gb of DDR5 ram - Light and compact design including the power brick - WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution - During graphics testing the integrated Intel Arc did better than I expected, good enough for some light to moderate gaming but display is limited to 60 hz - Built in Camera Privacy shade Cons: - No touch screen for anyone wanting to use AI to draw - Black case shows fingerprints - No easy access to upgrade the internal storage capacity - No Ethernet port, wireless connectivity only Display: The display is a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution so its slightly better than HD but not quite 2k. Because its an OLED display it has gorgeous colors, its bright and it has a wide viewing angle. On the downside, if you are hoping to use this with an AI drawing app realize that it is not a touch screen so any type of art work has to be done with a mouse vs a pen. For some that could be a real deal breaker. There isn’t a dedicated graphics card so the display uses the integrated Intel Arc graphics. Also note that the display is limited to 60hz so although its fine for everyday task its not ideal for gaming. Storage and Processor: This Vivobook has Intel’s new Ultra 5 chip which is built to handle AI apps but it can also handle the vast majority of the day to day office and home applications. This chip has 8 cores and the NPU can handle up to 40 trillion ops per second for those interested in pursuing AI apps or use CoPilot. While the Utra 5 isn’t Intel’s most powerful cpu series it is plenty powerful enough for most home and business applications. My Vivobook came with a 512 gb Western Digital NVMe drive which is used very often in laptops. The 512gb is enough storage for most users especially if you use cloud or USB storage as well. Everything Else: The laptop has two USB-A 3.2 ports, two USB-C ports, one HDMI port, a headphone and microphone jack and a micro SD card slot. Note that one of the USB-C ports is required when charging the laptop so you lose a USB-C port when charging. It supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth but does not have an Ethernet port so you have to connect wirelessly. The front facing camera has a 1080p HD resolution and has a built in privacy shade for video callers. The laptop runs fairly cool, the power supply is small and the laptop build is super thin which makes it great for travel.

A Sleek and Capable Everyday Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is a solid choice for everyday use. Its sleek design is lightweight and portable, though the black finish tends to attract fingerprints. The 14-inch OLED display offers vibrant colors and sharp visuals, enhancing both work and entertainment experiences. Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, it handles daily tasks efficiently. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the large touchpad is responsive. Battery life is impressive, lasting through a full day of use. However, it lacks a touchscreen, which might be a drawback for some users. Overall, it's a well-rounded laptop that delivers good performance for its price.

Slick Lappy, my MAIN computer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a desktop kind of guy, I never imagined a laptop ever being sufficient for my needs. But this one does it just fine. It's small, quiet, fast. When I plug in the monitor and wireless keyboard it's like a "tower", when I need portability, I can unplug and go. The screen is super-clear and the battery life is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Extreme thin and light value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to try out this laptop ever since I heard about intel's new efficient chip, and wanted to use it from the perspective of a student. After using it for a few days, I can say that it's definitely worth it. The all metal chassis is actually really nice feeling, unlike its other vivobook products that are made of plastic and feel cheap. The trackpad it way better than I thought it would be, but it's not bad for a non-haptic touch pad. The keyboard is also really good, just like the rest of the asus lineup. It's also extremely light, so highly portable. The screen is also really nice, but reflective, which I don't mind but others might. As for performance, I tested this by playing the latest version of minecraft on 16 render, and it ran really well, even off battery. I was getting over 200fps, with drops to about 150. Battery life was also extremely good because of the new intel chip. It excels at low performance tasks, giving battery life for multiple days without charging. You could even get a few hours on it while gaming. This is mainly because the new chip has very limited performance, so stuff like video editing may be off the table. Although Fusion360 ran decently well as long as you're not working on massive projects with hundreds of parts. Fan noise and heat were also minimal, but did heat up a tad bit when gaming. I mainly bought it because I wanted to see how it was, but returned it because I prefer bigger screens, like my 16 inch macbook. If you don't mind a 14 inch screen that is reflective and don't need crazy performance for things that require a large amount of cores, like video editing, this would be an amazing laptop.

Slim, sleek, AI powered.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS VivoBook S 14 OLED Laptop shines with a sleek and modern design that’s both visually appealing and highly functional. Its slim profile makes it easy to carry, and the placement of I/O ports on either side allows for hassle-free connectivity, perfect for everyday use. One standout feature is the dedicated Microsoft Copilot key, offering instant access to AI tools—a forward-thinking addition that feels natural and beneficial on this device. The keyboard and trackpad are thoughtfully arranged, making typing and navigation smooth and comfortable. With a headphone jack and a front camera privacy slider, ASUS has kept privacy-conscious users in mind, addressing preferences for wired audio and visual security. The OLED display is stunning, delivering rich colors and impressive brightness, which brings a truly immersive viewing experience. Although an anti-glare finish would be nice to reduce reflections, the overall display quality more than compensates, ensuring vibrant visuals even in well-lit settings. The single HDMI output also complements the device’s design, making it a solid choice for those looking for a practical and capable laptop over a tablet. This laptop thoughtfully balances sleek design with essential functionality, making it a compelling choice for anyone wanting a stylish yet practical machine.

Snappy and light
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Startup is blazing fast. Screen is glossy OLED with a nice pop of color. The track pad is very responsive and nice but the keyboard keys could use a little more spacing and are very dark which can be hard to see at night. The laptop is super light and portable easy to carry around. Battery excellent.

A good package when it's at the right price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for 650 dollars; at that price, it's got the bang for the buck. It has the latest gen processor, fabulous battery life, good speakers and display. I would have liked an antiglare display but pretty much none have these days. It's light and portable as well.
