    The computer itself functions well. The computer was packaged very poorly (box was in bad condition and there were no instructions). This violated the Best Buy Guarantee: “ Includes all original parts, packaging and accessories (or suitable replacement).”

    The computer is fast but there are quirks to it. It overheats quickly and the speakers work when they want to. I can't even plug in speakers or use Bluetooth to get the audio to work when they are acting up. I bought this computer to do online work and it has been more of a hassle than what it's worth. If you buy it, I'd highly recommend buying the extended insurance, just in case.

    i've had the laptop for quite a few weeks now, so I can only review it based on what I've done with it. I don't use it for hardly anything, I have a few games on it, and sometimes I use it for streaming. I do not work on it so I have not used it for a lot thus far. However. From the moment I got it it has been a headache. my fault for not visually measuring how big it would be and not going to see it in person but it is small compared to what was used to a 17 inch laptop however I really like that it barely weighs a thing so compact. depending on if you have it propped up on some thing, not covering the microphone, it is not super loud on full volume if you are watching a show from further away or something, but you get what you pay for and it's not terrible either. It's just average sound. it had certain functions toggle on like settings having to do with sticky so it was making weird noises, or I didn't realize that the top had a way to toggle on and off the WebCam, so it got hit a few times without me knowing and would not log me in with Face ID, but then I realized what was happening. also automatically turned on setting that when I was in one game, it would stay on mute completely till I reset the computer because the app was taking over the sound function so I had to go in and change that stuff. Also through the program and Microsoft is not automatically updating, and those settings were also messed with. And even now that I have fixed, it is still not updating all at once or normally . When I first bought it, I had to have someone from Microsoft Live remotely take over my laptop and they thought it was bizarre how it came with some of the settings and how the updates were coming in and I had to continuously keep pressing restart on the laptop to get it to update and each time it would find new ones. also, I have pretty good high-speed Wi-Fi and Internet at my house, my other laptop is 10 years old and still works pretty well, but I wanted a new one, and I had to buy a Wi-Fi extender specifically for it to work on because it would not connect to the Wi-Fi at my house even though my other devices are all connected to, it's big house and we don't even have that many things connected. so that was frustrating to have to spend more money to get it to work and even then it can be pretty slow for being new so I'm not all that impressed and now I have to take it back to Best Buy so they can see how to fix all these little issues if they keep happening and then they will probably have to ship it off for two weeks

    Has Coil Whine

    The ASUS Zenbook 14 has coil whine. That's the worst part about the laptop. It showed up the third time I used it and hasn't gone away since. If you don't mind the coil whine when you open the laptop or do anything intensive, go ahead and buy the laptop. The laptop's lightweight, is really fast, and can be really bright. The light up keyboard is a nice finish. For me though, the coil whine is getting to me. It can get really loud which worries me.

    There is a nice laptop, but I bought open box and it was a store model. The fan ran constantly and could give you burns however, very nice oled screen

    Cant connect to multi monitors using USB-C port

    I bought this laptop for $700 during a sale, hoping it would meet my needs. It's a lightweight device with two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, HDMI, and a 3.5mm jack, which I thought would be great for connectivity. The laptop's OLED screen is nice and glossy, and I was impressed with how easy it was to set up and configure. However, when I tried connecting the laptop to two monitors using a USB-C docking station (display ports), it wouldn't detect or connect to either one. I was able to get it to work via HDMI to one of the monitors, but when using the USB-C ports, the laptop would flicker heavily and become very slow. I tried troubleshooting by updating drivers, installing new software, and even switching to a different monitor (I tried both Dell and LG models), but nothing helped. The same setup worked just fine with my other Windows 10/11 laptop, which made it even more frustrating. Ultimately, the constant flickering and failure to detect external monitors was the main reason I decided to return the laptop.

    mine had noticeable coil whine

    Coil whine is an audible noise or buzzing sound that can come from electronic components like inductors, transformers, and capacitors when electrical current flows through them. My Zenbook is having coil whine near the CPU whenever it is processing something, like moving the mouse cursor or opening a program. It is much louder when the device is charging, and it is loudest when the device is sitting on a flat surface like a table or desk. There are some steps that can help reduce the noise. In the old control panel there is a screen called Power Options. Create a power plan and once you have done this, change plan settings. Change advanced power settings and set processor power management -> maximum processor state to 99%. Use the new power plan most of the time. When you want to edit videos or play a game, switch back to the default power plan which is called Balanced. If you use Linux, there are some programs that can also limit the power of the CPU so it doesn't get to use its full power. Regardless, when the device is under full load the fan will usually drown out the noise of the coil whine. Onto Linux, I am pleased to report that everything seems to work properly under Manjaro KDE with a little bit of fiddling. I tend to have the best luck with bleeding edge distros on brand new chipsets. I really like the laptop but there shouldn't be this much coil whine. I never had a laptop with this much. I'm very tempted to return it.

    Bait and switch open box

    I bought an open box in "excellent" condition. According to the website "excellent" condition should include all original packaging and accessories. My laptop came in a generic best buy box with no accessories, not even a charger! The laptop is in great shape and an excellent laptop. The battery life is amazing for a windows laptop and the OLED screen at 500 nits blows most other laptops out of the water. I highly recommend the laptop itself but be careful about best buy's deceptive practices when it comes to open box.

    I wanted to love this computer so much. The screen is great, video quality is great... but the sound is terrible. The sound cuts out and is unreliable. I can't hear Zoom calls. Spotify won't play music. I'm thinking it's a driver issue. so disappointed.

    Blurry screen from OLED touchscreen smudgy text

    The laptop has good specs, but I have to return it because there is a little blur to the screen. Tried drivers and all updates already and it still exists, and also tried various resolutions and scaling factors. Apparently this is an issue when you have touchscreen OLED screens when researching online. If you are going to have it docked most of the time or aren't picky or sensitive to blur then it probably isn't going to be an issue but there's no way I can look at the screen long.

    Whine, cooling fan rattle, and loose case

    This is a wonderful laptop and I really love the OLED display. However, this experience is offset by noticeable electronics whine, rattling from the cooling fan area, and looseness in the bottom panel corner adjacent to the HDMI port. It is just disappointing to work in a quiet location like the library and to be able to hear the whine and rattle. I'm also dismayed that one of the corners of the bottom panel is about 0.5mm from being flush and makes a popping sound as the panel snaps in and out with the gentlest of applied pressure

    Good build quality, port selection, keyboard, but my laptop had performance issues that i couldn't not resolve after trying every solution in the book. The only other thing i world have liked to see is either a higher resolution screen or a higher refresh rate screen. Many laptops have both and are still OLED. Overall probably not worth $1000 but at a discounted price it is good.

    Bought this to explore what a newer Windows device was like. Unfortunately the new Intel chips are a little glitchy. However the design was nice and keyboard and port selection was also fantastic! The OLED screen was also nice but had a bit of grainy ness to it. Odd.

    Software is really bad, 1. I had todo lots of hacks to make sure audio drivers work when it haywire 2. Bitlocker got into weird state had wiped of my content 3. Saving browser sessions doesnt work sometimes, still need to play to fix it I dont have issue with performance of laptop it is good. But, for non professionals these issues would be hard to live with

    Very sleek design and gorgeous OLED screen with deep black levels. Battery life is also very impressive. The missing star is for the small chip mark to the right side of the keyboard

    Has buzz noise.

    Wanted to keep this laptop, but it has an electrical buzz or crackling noise coming from underneath the laptop, and you can hear it when it is quiet around you. It also gets louder when you use the laptop while charging. Seems like it's pretty common due to other reviews. Couldn't stand the noise and had to return it. Got a Lenovo laptop instead with no issues.
