I bought this Zenbook mostly for travel. Fantastic size and weight, power brick is small. Screen is crisp and bright. Trackpad is as good as a Windows machine's going to get, a shadow of Mac trackpad usability. The overall performance is good but not quite the leap I expected compared to my 8-year old Core I7 machine. Mostly meets my expectations, especially for travel. Photos show size comparison of laptop and charger with Dell XPS 14 (9550), my previous travel laptop.

I recently upgraded to the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED. I am very happy with this purchase. The keyboard is comfortable and responsive, and the screen is bright and clear. The overall performance is very good, and even the sound is good. For the price, this is a very good laptop.

It works very well. The only complaint I have is with the touchpad being a bit large. It would be great to have another USB port too. The performance, sound, and build of the laptop is excellent.

It seems to be a nice notebook. The keyboard is difficult to see unless I'm directly over it or there's unobstructed light. If my hand casts a shadow I can't see the letters/numbers. This is my 1st experience with Windows 11 which poses it's ow problems. Like I can't find my calendar except by accident. I thought I had it figured out but nooo. I really don't know about the speed or battery life.

This is really a 14in powerhouse. Asus Zenbook is light, easy to hold and carry at 2.82lbs! Funny thing is, with this being a touch screen, I am very surprised that at this price point it is not also a 2in1. While the reality is, I have never been a frequent user of my other 2in1 laptops, it’s just a great feature, especially when traveling. Overall, it was not really a negative factor in my review of it. At 16GB of Ram and a 1TB SSD, you have all the power you need for most any activity. This is only an average gaming laptop but to be honest, if you’re in the market for that, you will go with other options anyway. For multi-tasking normal work efforts (multiple MS Office apps and instances open) this is more than powerful enough to accommodate those multi-tasking options. I had over 3 each, MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word, all open at the same time with no issues and memory to spare. While the ports are a bit light on this laptop (2 x USB-C, 1 x USB-A 3.2 and an HDMI), they are still sufficient to work. Remember that this is a very light 14in box, it’s not going to come stocked port heavy. Maybe it’s because I am right-handed, but I prefer at least the USB-C’s on the left side, not the right side as they are here. The HDMI is also on the right which if you’re right-handed (at least for me), its slightly annoying but I am not complaining because I really do like this box. I have to say that I really love the display. It’s 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) is only listed as “Entry Level” on Best Buys’s Graphics rating but I must say, I am impressed. Color depth is impressive and significantly improved over a couple other of higher end laptops I have/had. Touch display is responsive and spot on. Lastly, I don’t have anything negative to say here, just a couple wishes that I would have hoped they would have included. I have become addicted to the fingerprint scanner on a laptop. This Zenbook doesn’t have it and that disappoints me. I can get over it with the quality front camera that supports facial recognition as well as the pin entry, but I love a quality fingerprint scanner. I just feel like it’s very secure and easy to manage, unless someone wants to cut off my fingertip to get into my laptop, only to discover boring spreadsheets, mindless word docs and web searches as risqué as “best Italy beach vacation destinations”. Overall, this is a great box, a few design changes could improve functionality (in my opinion), but if you’re a lefty, you may be fine with the port placements. OH, and I about forgot. One thing that literally blew me away is the battery and battery life. I charged the laptop upon receiving it. I then spent about 4 hours setting it up and doing a variety of tasks. I then got tied up with work stuff and let it sit in standby for about 3 days. I returned to it only to find that it had not lost ANY battery life! I used it for about another 2 days off and on, but then got wrapped back up in work. I returned AGAIN to find no battery loss. This laptop has a 4-Cell Lithium Ion Battery which so far seems amazing. Charging is quick as well! I would recommend this laptop to others; I do think that you need to completely understand all the features and compare accordingly because this price point is becoming very competitive. This laptop as a 1-year warranty which is great, I have seen less in the competition.

Excellent speed and battery. Screen display also a plus. Its light weight makes it an excellent traveling laptop. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating was the keyboard is very small. Extremely difficult to properly type. Other than that I found it to be an excellent computer.

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED 14" Touch Laptop is, in many ways, a dream come true for this photographer. The OLED screen is clear and the colors are true. With a nit rating of 500, the screen is BRIGHT, which is very important when working with fine detail in photos, both new and old. I have plenty of space for photos and music with 1 TB of storage on board. The upgraded Intel Core Ultra 7 series 1 processor is a major upgrade from the I7 processors just a few years ago. But what really sold me was the weight. This laptop is so light! This really is a great laptop for creative types. That said, there are some flaws. For one, there's only one USB port and two USB-C ports. Considering the power cord plugs into one of the USB-C ports, functionally speaking, that leaves only 1 USB and 1 USB-C port for use. There is also no slot for a SD card. I shoot with a Canon DSLR camera and prefer to edit my photos on my laptop, meaning I would prefer a laptop with a built-in SD card reader. Would I recommend this laptop to a friend? Yes, I would for general use, but I would also have caveats. If you're a creative person who needs more connection points, I would go with a different laptop.

Powerful PC in a just-right size

I purchased the Asus Zenbook 14x roughly 3 weeks ago now, and so far I've really enjoyed it. Here are some things that I'm happy with: 1) Performance: It's 99% as fast as my previous Dell XPS 15 9530 with the same processor and RAM. The Dell has a slightly better cooling system w/two fans, so I believe that allows to eke out a tad bit better CPU performance. It's not a noticeable difference by any means, but if you're going strictly by the benchmarks. But, of course, the Dell has much larger body to accommodate a two-fan cooling system. 2) Screen: There's a lot of praise for Asus' OLED screens, and it's completely justifiable. They're bright, color-saturated and plenty vivid. Everything looks crisp on these OLED screens, even scanned copies of old newspapers. The high refresh rate is nice to have, but I honestly have it turned off in favor of longer battery life. HDR videos truly pop once their displayed in full-screen. Fingerprint magnet-yes. Worth it-absolutely. 3)Size: I always felt that 15 inch laptops were too big, bulky and sometimes heavy for my everyday use. But 13-inchers were always too small. So finding a powerful laptop in the 14" range was great. This one is actually 14.5", due to it's taller screen shape. 4) Build quality is top-notch. I hate laptops whose keyboard tray moves up and down when pressed. I can thankfully say that this Zenbook laptop is very structurally solid with little to no bend or flex. I love that! 5) Touchpad is great. 100x better than on my Dell, which struggled with palm detection mightily. After you've had a bad touchpad experience, a good touchpad is worth its weight in gold. 6) USB-A is still present! Yes, I love having dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, but keep around a good ol' USB-A port for the legacy devices is just plain smart. There are a few areas of improvement I'd make: 1) No SD card slot. I don't use them very often, but I do use them for bulk item backups (pictures and music). 2) Inconvenient power button sometimes gets hit when I'm reaching for the 'delete' button. I prefer if the power button is on the side or somewhere away from the keyboard. 3) Lots of Asus bloatware is included. Everything from screen tools and calibration apps to an app for connecting your phone (which is totally redundant given Microsoft's included My Phone app). It's just a lot...and most of it auto-starts when you boot the PC. Not cool. Overall, I give the laptop high marks for being a powerful computer in a just-right size. The OLED screen really completes the package! If you're in the market for a do-everything laptop with few compromises, check this one out.

Fast, vibrant colors, responsive, thin and light. This laptop offers good battery life, better than most I've owned so far. In fact, I like it so much that I bought 2 of them when they were on sale. I won't bore you with technical specs. Suffice it to say, that this laptop has more than enough power for the average user. It can even handle some computationally intensive tasks. So no hesitations, except if you're a big gamer. It's fun to use with a good responsive keyboard, fast response and, as mentioned, a great display. It even has a touch screen. I bought my last laptop without one because I didn't think I needed it. I immediately regretted not having it. This one does, and it makes navigation much easier. It has an IR camera and can do facial recognition. Its position is appropriately placed at the top of the display. So no meetings with people looking up my nostrils. Some complain that there aren't enough ports, but remember this is a laptop. It comes with a good selection including 2 USB C, an older USB 3 type port and HDMI ports as well as the expected headphone jack. Of these, the last is probably the least valuable since I, like most people, hook up to private listening wirelessly. I don't think that you can go wrong with this machine. It is a great under 3 pound ultralite with any cheese added.

This laptop has great specs, intel ultra 7 processor, 16 GB Ram (more would be better) 1 TB SSD, the garphics could be better but it does fine. Super fast, great sound, bright touch screen with backlit keyboard. Only 1 usb A , another would be adequate, No SD card come on now ;/ . Great battery life, yay. These specs usually come in the $1000 range which is why this is a steal at $699. Still overpriced at $1000 though. The 14 inch screen is the perfect size for me but, biggest draw back is that the resolution is only 1920x1200 at 60hz. This is basically just full HD 1080P. My 8 year old laptop has 2736x1824 resolution and there is a big noticeable difference in sharpness and detail and fov of the windows interface and menus. For me this is a big downgrade and since i would be using this for photo editing, this is not adequate. The fact that companies are still selling laptops and monitors of poor resolution quality is a huge shame. 8 years later and this brand new tech is still obsolete with the screen resolution. That's just not right. This could have been the perfect laptop but there always seems to be a catch somewhere. If you just need this for school, browsing, or work without needing it for editing or creative work or just dont care about obsolete resolution, this will be perfect for you. The screen isnt bad at all, its just a downgrade for me.

No, I've not been incentivized to write this review. No promotions. It's still early days (as I picked this up on the 13th of April) but I thought it important to post my feelings about this machine ASAP. Speed: I had an 8265U LG Gram before and this Asus feels about double the speed but Windows 11 is fairly inefficient (especially Windows Explorer). First time launches of newly installed apps are slow but I think Windows may be writing a bunch of files during this initial launch. Subsequent launches (even a few days later) are fairly quick. Web surfing (I use Firefox) is faster but the bottleneck here is how fast your ISP can deliver the content. But I have no complaints here. The screen is wonderful although, without a 360 degree hinge, why even bother with a touch screen? It just gets fingerprints so I don't even use it. But the 1920 x 1200 resolution, the extremely bright screen (which may be dimmed without flickering), and the sharpness is just first-rate. The keyboard has plenty of space, large enough keys, and the key travel is perfect. The build quality is excellent; no flexing yet still very lightweight. The only issue I've encountered is a strange touchpad behavior. The hardware is all fine, I believe, but when I enable tapping, the right-hand 1/2" of the touchpad (from top to bottom) will not register a tap. That part of the pad does work for moving the cursor and even two-finger scrolling so I know the hardware is fine; it's just a goofy driver that Asus hasn't yet sorted out. If I were to put a narrow piece of adhesive tape vertically on that right-hand area, I'd not use that section of the touchpad and wouldn't experience this problem. But I do want to stress that I do expect it to be fixed by Asus eventually with an updated driver. Accordingly, I took of one star for bad Asus software QC. But I won't return the unit as it does, in every other way, meet or exceed my expectations.

This is my 2nd Asus laptop, did a lot of research before going with the Zenbook. This offers good speed and portability, it feels cooler and lighter and hit the mark for my needs. Importantly, the associate at the store was really patient and guided me through a number of alternatives before settling on this. So far so good, I am happy with my purchase.

I've had this laptop for aboout 4 months. I mostly browse internet, youtube, pay bills. No real work like ms office, graphics, dev tools etc. so can't comment on that. I got it to take something smaller and lighter on vacation than my old faithful 15" macbook pro, and it worked great in that capacity. I considered a 13.6" macbook air but the asus' slightly larger screensize and better specs for the price range won me over. PROS: Performance and response is great. The keyboard is good quality, no sponginess. The display is quite nice. CONS: -Speakers are the worst I've ever heard, and I've been in IT for 30 years - meaning I've worked with lots and lots of laptops. -The thunderbolt/USB-C ports where the power adapter connects aren't far enough back. When I sit on the couch with this in my lap, either leg crossed, the cord is in the way. NEUTRAL but worth noting -The touchpad is sometimes a little too sensitive and I am apparently clicking on things when just attempting to move the pointer. This isn't all the time, so maybe its me.

I use R programming with Rstudio and also regular daily tab use. I notice there is some overheating, especially when charging and using at the same time. The laptop gets very hot, and I'm not sure if the fan is doing a great job. If I could return it for a different laptop I probably would. The sound has also been just ok, I have noticed that for some uses, the loudest sound still sounds muffled, but on other occasions, the sound is really good. However, on the plus, the screen quality is great, the mousepad feels nice, and for casual use or for school it would be great quality and fast.

I returned this laptop due to the new line of snapdragon windows laptops coming out. Battery life for me is a huge concern since I tend to work away from outlets often enough where having all day battery life on screen brightness takes priority over other features. The Zenbook's keyboard, was to me the best keyboard in terms of my performance I've ever used. Even with my very nice desktop mechanical keyboard I average 110-135 WPM, with the laptop I averaged 125-150. It's not the most empirical
