Not many uses for CD-ROMs these days. Most computers these days don’t come with one. Every once in a while there is a need for one though. Having an external drive is nice. It’s a very quiet drive. Read speeds are as described. Works great!

I love this little DVD player. My new HP desktop did not have an optical player and I do watch DVDs from time to time on the computer and this does the job well at a modest price. I did my research and this is the best one out there for this price range...

I had to move files from a laptop to my computer and couldn’t use an USB drive because of security protocols. This little drive was just the tool to accomplish what I needed. It was quick, quiet and easy to install.

This works as a nice back up to my failing disc drive in my computer or for my notebook when I want to upload stored data or music. It does its job, and it does it well.

Received the new PC about 2 days ago. Looks like it is a keeper. Very happy with the machine itself - performs very well. I am having issues with loading in the software for the various flight simulators. Don't fully understand the technology. Other than that, no complaints.

Works perfect, a must need for tablets and other devices.

Works great on my laptop which does not have a DVD drive like most late model computers. I have heard some complaints about compatibility but I had no issues.

I really hate that I need an external drive these days but ASUS never disappoints. Easy fast work.

For the price I paid, this works really well. It is quiet and light weight. I have used it to back up my pictures and I use it to make mp3's of my Cd's (Yes I still have those)

This was very simple to use. Opened the box, plugged it in and my Windows 10 system set it all up and I was able to start ripping CDs and DVDs. Simple to use. I will not use this item very often but it was inexpensive and works. I am satisfied.

Great little external dvd/cd drive. Plays cds well without a lot of noise. Haven't tried to write cd yet. Includes both type connecter cords, Seems very light weight & fragile, but it does the job well.

I have a laptop that cannot play dvd and this gadget here has been a life saver. It works really well and it really helped with my presentation on our Zoom training. I really recommend this.

Didn't use it a lot, but so far so good. The CD player in my computer stopped working when a newer version of Win10 was installed. Techs said the newer version wasn't compatible with it. The Asus works with it.

Great purchase! Originally purchased this to view pictures on some cd’s but is also great for backing up files to cd’s. Would highly recommend!

Sweet little drive. Two types USB cable provided. Discovered I needed an external drive when building new PC. New case doesn't have bays. :-( Anyway, nice device, works quietly and is rather speedy for reading but I haven't tried writing anything.

DVD drive works great but requires 2 USB ports. I wish the website had made this more apparent as I would have preferred a drive that only needed one port.

I've only used it once, but it worked. Best Buy really wanted me to write a review so here it is.

This is an external CD/DVD-RW. Just need to plug it in and its recognized immediately. No issues with the unit, does the job just fine and looks ver good.
