Customers are positive about the Motorola Moto E's price, ease of use, camera quality, battery life, and screen size. Many appreciate its features and performance for the price point, although some express concern regarding the limited internal memory. The inclusion of an FM radio is also a frequently cited positive. A lack of flash is mentioned as a drawback by a few users.

I'm really impressed by this inexpensive Motorola product. I thought I was getting a run-of-the-mill cheap smart phone as a temp substitute for my lost off contract StraightTalk BYOP Samsung S4.
To my surprise, the Moto E is a very tough, very fast (except bootup) great little smart phone. It's camera is great too, but the camera app GUI has a few screws loose. But I'd still give the camera app a B+.
The design and feel of the phone is awesome. Hats off to the Moto E design team. The easily accessible, but extremely well hidden and protected i/f card slots are a design gem. I could hardly find the slot without looking at the directions. Smart guys like me never look at the directions first...
There are a few other issues and pluses...
My Moto E runs the new Lollipop OS. It's a pain getting used to, but I'm now outsmarting it...
I'm really really impressed that this cheap phone can be set up as a hot spot on ATT network.
A couple drawbacks:
the power off button is too sensitive and so is the call app touch screen. These have been a pain to deal with, but the phone itself is a tremendous buy for $70.
Oh, another drawback...
the ATT $45 data plan is only 1.5 gigs? I'm going to switch the phone over to StraightTalk, 5 gigs for the same price duh!
ATT easily has the best customer service, but it's not worth the 3.5 gig difference... duh ATT!
Hope u appreciate this rating of the new Moto E. I could have been more thorough, but it will giveu an idea of the power of this "cheap" phone.
FYI, this is the first rating I have ever written...

Love this phone, I am even able to use it on my AT&T postpaid family plan account. I was quite surprised to find this phone so responsive to each touch with so many features. I have had this Moto E for about a month now, a few weeks prior I had purchased a ZTE go phone AT&T only to save a couple dollars.. A week later, I was back inside the store to exchange it for the Moto E. I am so glad I got this phone, phone works great with Lollipop 5.1 update. My FAVORITE part about this phone is that it allows individual user accounts to be created along with a "guest" account. If you lend your phone to somebody temporarily, simply log out of your account in the top pull down menu, and select "guest" or "add user", and they will have no access to your texts messages or a few other personal things excluding pictures or SD card contents. Only thing phone lacks is a flash. Great phone A++

If you want to get a sense of where the real innovation in smartphones is happening, you need to look past the high-end flagships and toward the cheap stuff. And with the new Moto E, Motorola has crafted one of the most compelling budget smartphones yet. Starting at just $29.99, but it makes up for that with upgrades that make it a far more usable phone. Those include the addition of LTE, 8GB of built-in storage (twice as much as its predecessor) and a slightly bigger screen.

Was looking for a new phone, had a Aquos on the Sprint network and it was terrible. The Moto E 2nd generation phone does it all.. I get news thru the Moto app, The 5 megapixel camera takes great pictures even tho it doesn't have a flash it has a light to dark adjustment meter which makes a big difference. The front camera is nice. It has the Google photo app to back up your photos... Runs on Lollipop 5.1. It had the downloadable update in the software. Also for those of you worried about storage you can use up to a 32 gig sd card and you CAN transfer applications on to the card which is a big big plus from lot kat 4.42. The internal storage is 8gigs and the operating system does not seem to weight the memory down... All in all I love this little phone. The screen isn't too big or too small.. It has Corning gorilla glass... I found a great case for it at the mall for around $30. It probably doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a g6 or i phone but it is amazing for the price... I have at&t for a carrier & the phone is awesome on their network. I travel a lot and never have service issues....

pros:
1. Compact
2. easy setup
3. Good battery life
cons:
1. just 4 GB internal memory (can't ask for more considering the overall price of this phone)
2. with just few basic/required apps, this phone would perform well. Too much apps will bring down the performance.

I give this a 5 star rating because of the features vs cost. If you don't want to spend a huge amount of money for a phone or have a long lasting contract. Some are some technical pros:
cost, long battery life, stripped down Android, nice size, strong signal, 4G LTE, front facing camera which can be used for Skype.

This phone was overall a good value for the price. I bought it for my preteen daughter and she loves it. She is able to take all of the photos & selfies she wants. The pictures are clear. There seems to be plenty of room for aps too, which was a big problem for her old no-contract phone. This is a great purchase for any kid.

I bought this to replace my wife's contract phone that was no longer reliable due to a dying battery. We swapped the SIM card and she went right to using it like she had owned it for years. She loves the phone and since neither my wife nor I are heavy data and app users I'd recommend that anyone who does not need or want to pay several hundred $ for a carrier's newest phone look at this one. For the price of 2 monthly installments on a newer phone I put a phone in her hands that does what she needs, takes acceptable pictures, allows access to social media, easily fits in her pants pockets, and most importantly makes her HAPPY! I won bigtime when I bought her this phone!

Great bang for your buck with this Moto E. Nice screen, good battery life, 4G data, and minimal bloatware. I got this for my wife as a replacement for her older ZTE Android phone. She loves almost everything about it. The only problem we're experiencing is a lockup of the messaging app when using voice input. I've done some research online and this seems like an Android OS issue and not specific to the Moto E. In the meantime a reboot or closing of apps frees it up. Other than that it works great. I'm tempted to replace my old iPhone 4 with one.

I got this phone as a backup phone in case something happens to my LG G4. The Moto E was on sale for about two 20 dollar bills, so I went for it. I've actually been using it ever since.
It IS limited with regards to memory - 8 GB really isn't enough. But it has an SD card slot, so there's that...
It's not the fastest, processor - wise, but it works fine for me.
You get a more stripped down Android experience than with a lot of other phones out there...
The bad (ish) news is that the bootloader can not be unlocked, so, no root for you! I would sincerely like to be able to remove the bloatware, which I NEVER use, to free up some space on the paltry little 8 GBs, but, it really isn't a deal breaker.
I much prefer the camera in this phone to the one in my G4. No flash.
I like the smaller size of this phone, and for the price, can destroy it without clobbering my liver afterwards.

The AT&T GoPhone Motorola Moto E is a very good phone for the money. It works great and the battery lasts for about a day with moderate use. It has a decent camera, but no flash. The voice quality is excellent. It has over the air radio, so you don't need to use any data to listen to your favorite radio stations.

A Great Budget Phone

The Moto E is by far the best entry level Android phone I've ever used. I've used almost nothing but flag ship phones for a while, and then bought several budget Windows phones. For years these were the budget phones to buy as Windows ran so much better on entry level hardware, and Android was much more 'hit or miss' with an emphasis on the miss, especially in entry level. The Moto E is the first budget Android device that felt like it performed well enough for daily use. It has a good feel in hand, and made of a textured plastic.
The Snapdragon 410 is a great chipset for this phone. It performs extremely well here, even hampered by 1GB of RAM. This phone would most likely be unstoppable with 2GB, but such is life.
The screen is lower resolution (qHD), and even though the screen is smaller than most (4.5"), you can definitely tell it isn't HD. If they could have squeezed in 720p at this size, it would have been amazing. That said, the pixel density is actually pretty good, at 245ppi.
The largest downside to this device is definitely the camera. At 5MP with no flash it takes pictures that make my 4 year old Galaxy Nexus look like a DSLR in comparison (and the GNexus had a bad camera). Medium to low light scenarios are noisy, blurry, and generally bad looking. Bright light shots are passable, but nothing to write home about. The front facing camera is in the same boat, only magnified at only VGA resolution. That said, that this price point, having a front facing for skype or otherwise is great.
Motorola's software is impeccable. This is nearly pure Android 5.1 Lollipop, and that's a good thing. The play store is here, and you can even disable multiple the inevitable carrier apps (AT&T junk). There are a few add ins, and the camera app is much better than google's stock camera app. Many people are up in arms about this phone not getting Marshmallow, which is still an unknown, but lollipop runs very well on here.
The included charger is very weak and takes a long time to charge the device. If you have a 1 or 2 amp charger sitting around, use that instead of the moto charger as it does charge it faster.
The battery life is excellent. With a power sipping screen, CPU, and efficient LTE chipset you can easily get 2 days of battery with moderate use (2400mah).
Overall the device is great at this price point. I'd consider a Moto G or X if you want a larger screen and more performance. But if you need a workable device under $100, this will do it easily. I have no reservation recommending this!

This phone replaced an LG Thrill smartphone. Decided to purchase a GoPhone rather than upgrade my contract. This phone has everything I want in a smartphone. The camera works very well. This phone takes excellent videos. Has excellent battery life as well. Was able to connect to my e-mail very easily. Would definitely recommend.

This is my first smart phone and it has given me a wealth of features I never had with my 2G flip phone. The features are generally easy to use. Synchronization of contacts via Google allowed me to type them in via my desktop computer and they instantly showed up on my phone. This was a big plus over using the phone keyboard. Battery holds charge well. "Go Google" voice feature is also a useful utility. Overall using this phone as my AT&T contract phone has worked out well.

This Motorola Moto E is an overall excellent product, with great features and nice appearance and a good feel to it. It has everything that an ordinary phone user might need and is very easy to use. The Android operating system works nicely and is very fast. The call quality is very good and Internet function is great, especially with the big 4.5 in. screen, which is very bright, has high resolution, and generally looks superb, both on photos and videos. I bought this phone just for a small temporary upgrade, but I am so impressed with it that I plan to keep it for a long time. Best of all, l got it on sale and only paid $ 50 for it! You can't beat a deal like that. I am totally happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product to anyone.

I bought this phone with a GO Phone plan for my business. It turned out to be a great phone. I am very pleased with the performance. So pleased I bought a second one for my manager. It is so nice I even thought about changing my Galaxy S5 for this phone. I would definitely recommend it.
