Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the LI-850W Wireless Back-Up Camera's ease of use and straightforward installation process. However, some customers have expressed concerns regarding the camera's image quality, citing issues such as lag, jitter, and less-than-ideal viewing angles. The camera's functionality is a point of contention for some users. Improvements to the video quality would significantly enhance the overall user experience.

Great Concept. Horrible Function and Control

The installation is fairly easy. But the function is terrible. (1) the camera image lags by a full one second and can look jittery at times. (2) the remote is not very fast in response. You may push the button and thing it is doing nothing. However it takes about 3 seconds before the camera app launches. (3) For reasons unknown, when you use the remote, the app on the phone has a round translucent button which will launch other apps on the phone! (4) If you attempt to launch the rearview app manually it crashes the phone. We used it with an iPhone 5SE, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7. All produced the same results. All were equally terrible.

My son's 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis didn't have a backup camera, and can you think of a car that needs it more? The Grand Marquis is one of the last of the very large sedans. Without a backup camera, it would be easy to not see what was behind the car and run over whatever is back there. This solves this problem, mostly, and usually without too much drama. It uses your phone and a bluetooth connection to provide a live view of what is behind the car. Sometimes it fails to connect, but mostly it connects without too much trouble. The app automates tasks to get it to show the image by pressing a button a provided device that you install on the dash. But it isn't an instant view, it takes a few seconds. It is when it fails to connect that is the most frustrating. The image is almost okay, but a few hairs short of giving a proper wide view because the Grand Marquis is so wide! It does work better than others I've tried and returned. What you need to consider is that if you cut into the car wiring, you risk voiding a warranty on that car. And I wanted something I could remove quickly and easily, without pulling back wires to the front from the trunk. This is an easy install - the camera simply attaches to the holes that are designed for your license plate. In return, you are provided with a simple install. The battery is behind the license plate and promises to give you at least 2-3 years of service; this we will just have to wait and see what it really provides. Perfect? No. Worth it? Absolutely if you want a very quick and easy to use backup camera.

This model Look It backup camera functions well as it was intended to do. Installation was very easy and camera-phone pairing was successful. Worth the money (got it on sale for $150), considering you won't have to do any complicated wiring on your vehicle. Would probably buy another one for our other older model vehicle.

On sale for $150.99, I couldn't be happier with the value of this backup camera for the money. Of course I would prefer an OEM-style camera that would connect to my display, but those cost about $1200 for my 2012 BMW 328i. This is the perfect solution!

I've tried to get a more expensive back-up camera installed on my 2012 BMW 328i, and it had so much electrical interference it couldn't be used. This is just a plug-and-play version I can view on my phone. Sure, it's a little awkward as compared to a factory version or similar, but it works well enough and I'm satisfied with the quality so far. It's been on about 3 weeks now.

I hadn't use my truck in about 2 weeks and when trying to use the camera it wouldn't. work. The only way I got it to work was to remove it from the truck and push the button on the back of the device and it started working again. Should I have to do this again it's not worth it. Maybe they should have placed this switch so it would be available on the outside near the camera.

The link isn’t always very stable. Takes a while to load. The view can be a bit blurry and hard to see at night. Slight delay. But a decent backup for the price

I paired with my phone and tested before installing in the car. The connection is a bit slow but usable, however it frequently dropped the connection with camera. I would probably rate is 2 to 3 starts if that were the only problem, and just live with that. However, I paired a second phone and now the connection with the first one is lost. It turns out I can only pair one phone at a time, which renders the product useless because I am not the only person driving the car.

The install was incredibly quick an easy. The camera works very well, but there is a bit of a delay from the time you hit the button to turn it on to getting an actual view, but it does work very well, and am very happy with it.

First time my attempt to pair it with my iphone it would not recognize it, then after a couple times switching off and on the blue tooth on my iphone it paired. And has worked fine since then. I have not tried the record playback.

Looked at different options for a backup camera for my 1999 Saab Turbo SE. None of the Wired Options satisfied my need because the only monitored view was installing an after market device on my windshield. Camera works perfect even with the delay. Really like this product. Thank you!

I HOOKED THIS UP TO MY HALF TON TRUCK, INSTALLATION WAS A BREEZE. THE 30 SECOND TIMER IS USEFUL IF THE CAMERA ACTUALLY WORKED PROPERLY. I HAVE TO POWER THE CAMERA ON 2-3 TIMES BECAUSE OF THE "LAG" BETWEEN THE CAMERA AND PHONE WHEN BACKING UP. I'M CERTAIN THAT THE 4 YEAR BATTERY LIFE IS BASED ON NORMAL USE FOR 30 SECONDS AT A TIME, NOT 1-1/2 TO 2 MINUTES EACH USE. CERTAINLY NOT WORTH $350-$400 IF IT ONLY WILL LAST A YEAR OR TWO. I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE OR ANOTHER RESOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM AND THEY STATED THAT IT IS JUST THAT WAY BECAUSE OF THE BLUETOOTH CONECTIVITY. I WILL BE RETURNING MINE AND BE PUTTING IN A WIRED HIGHER QUALITY CAMERA SYSTEM THAT I INITIALLY WAS GOING TO HAVE PUT IN BUT LIKED THE IDEA OF NO WIRES. EVIDENTLY NO WIRES MEANS NO FUNCTION.

I was really pumped to use this camera. Major disappointment. I have only got the camera to turn on once while mounted on my Chevy Silverado truck, after pushing button dozens of times. I changed battery in transmitter and still nothing. If I take the camera off the truck and set on my lap, then press the button a bunch of times...it works about 50% of the time. Otherwise, doesn't work mounted on a Chevy Silverado. Must be too far away for the Bluetooth to connect reliably. I will be returning.

I needed a back up camera for my SUV and didn't want to have another screen to look at, having something that used my phone made a lot of sense. While the idea is great, and the set up and installation were very easy, the picture quality is seriously lacking. The system is slow (on my iphone x) and image is very blurred. I will probably return it and look for another solution.
