We bought this lock after realizing that another smart lock wouldn't fit our door! This has worked perfectly ever since. It does eat through batteries quickly though!

I love the product and the ability to make virtual keys to my home. The fact that I can check to make sure my door is always locked and the ability to tell me if it's even open or closed. My biggest drawback to the product is the battery life. It drains incredibly fast. I am at 3 months and already had to replace them. At this rate I'll spend a small fortune on battery replacement at 4 times per year. The instructions even state that rechargeable batteries are not recommended.

So far, no issues. It locks the door when I leave the house, and unlocks when I arrive home. If I unlock it, it’ll lock automatically (after the door is closed) after 20 seconds (can configure time in app). I can check on the status of the door from my phone, whether it’s locked/unlocked/open/closed. It’s also discreet in the matte black, which is a plus!

Convenient not to need the hub and can use current lock, easy to install, but not helpful without purchasing the extra keypad: took easy to get locked out if you forgot your phone!

Install was a breeze but it wasn’t working properly. So I called August. Customer service was great and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem. No issues since! Would recommend

Really easy install and works flawlessly. It is more useful than I expected and has more functions than I was aware of like automatic open on arrival to home from iPhone. I got the keypad and it add much more to an already great product as grandkids can use and I can lock door with one button and unlock if I don't have phone with me.

This lock is awesome. It connected Seamlessly with Alexa, the install was easy and it worked Amazingly when we were out of town and needed to let people into our house. This makes it so my kids dont “need” keys to get in so we don’t have to re-key every time a key is lost. They can just use their app. It’s working out great in our home.

Installation was easy, except connecting it to my wifi. I have to move my router closer to the lock to be able to establish the connection. My main problem with this lock is the unreliable auto-unlock feature. That's the feature I bough this lock, but it only works less than 50%. I have contacted with their support team many times, this issue just doesn't seem to be solved. FYI: I'm using Pixel 4 with latest Android System. It may works better with iOS, I have no idea. The setting is also quite funky, sometime it show my phone was not connected with the lock even I was stand by my door. Remote lock/unlock works fine. Although it works with Google Assistant, you have to set up a PING code, and every time you want to unlock your door with Google Assistant, you have to yell out your ping code, that's just purely stupid. I don't know if it's Google's standard, or it's a bad implementation from August. It supports IFTTT, but with very limited functions. It can only trigger events, but not perform actions. For a $250 device, I expect a better experience.

I decided to upgrade from my Pro Connect to the Gen 4 as it freed up a power outlet in my home and possibly resolved an issue I had with the Pro Connect occasionally disconnecting. The install was daily easy and the in app instructions were very clear. Once installed everything seemed to work as designed, but I noticed issues with delayed alerts. I saw another reviewer mention the same, so I turned on alerts for both HomeKit and the August app. With my Pro Connect, I typically only use the August app for alerts as I didn’t need double the alerts. But with the Gen 4, I will need to keep this on u til a possible firmware update. I must also note, the signal readings are always excellent and the Bluetooth going to between good and excellent.

With the first installation over my deadbolt, it jammed! But once I was able to replace the existing deadbolt with a cheap one that had a longer pin, it worked perfectly! Once installed, very easy to use and set up!

Great product. Seamless, simple, and integrated. Works so well with our Google Home and Apple HomeKit. We love that it can automatically open when we arrive home and is reliable. Most other locks take time to work or are finicky. I've had no problems at all with this device and highly recommend it.

Works pretty well. Sometimes falls off the network despite excellent coverage. But overall I like it. It was not hard to install.

Works well and is pretty easy to install. My only issue is not with August but with Homekit. If HomeKit Messe sup, the only way to fix it is to reset the lock, which while not hard is frustrating. It would be nice if you could redo Homekit independently from the rest of the clock set up.

Installation was ridiculously easy without impacting any of the existing locking mechanism. Not only is the app super simple to use and far more responsive and quick then some of the alternatives I have tried, but it ties in seamlessly with my Home Assistant home automation control unit

Not a single issue with the smart lock. The batteries died after about 6 months, but Michigan’s cold weather didn’t help. Replaced them with better batteries and there haven’t been any issues since. The app definitely lets you know with plenty of time left to replace them before they die too.

I was looking for a smart lock and this one fit the bill. A little more expensive than the previous generation, but it has the bridge built in and I haven't had any problems with it. The app is good and offers customization. It integrates seamlessly with Alexa.

I did a lot of research for a smart lock. I wanted something that would not require all my door hardware to be changed. This august lock does just that. This lock works as expected. Took about 15 minutes to install, and the app took less than that to set up. Definitely recommend this lock.

The lock is pretty easy to install. Like most users, we had problem with the lock not extending all the way once installed. I had to Google the phone number for customer service to talk to a live person because I could not find an easy solution.

Love it. I no longer have to change locks when my kid loses his keys (again) or get keys made for family if there’s an emergency. The door locks itself after someone comes in too. Works great. Integration with HomeKit is a little fiddly but I think that’s on Apple’s side

I love that I can walk up to my door and have it unlocked for me! And I can check to make sure I locked the door when away from home.
