I am not a professional sound person but I have a good enough ear to know when something sounds good. This Mic sounds great especially for the cost and I found the multiple pickup settings to be very handy when tuning the mic for what I need to use it for (I was not sure what setting was going to work the best for the room I was in). I am using this as a mic for picking up ambient sound in a church sanctuary. this is for video that is transmitted through the building during service as well as recorded for internet usage. The intent was to pick up the choir and the other instruments on the balcony. at first I used the mic in omnidirectional mode but found that organ simply drowned our everything ells. so being able to switch to a cardioid pattern was the trick I needed. I definitely recommend this for general purpose use. as for high end use I cant say but it proved to have good sensitivity and sound quality for my needs.
