It worked well. Just plug and play. My current issue: audio on videos wouldn't play. Maybe I just need to configure some settings about it.

Good but no audio

Not sure if there is something I can do to change that, but the initial requirement which was to be able to extend my screen has definitely been met easily.

adapts but not the greatest

It worked without any set up, but I haven't been able to adjust levels and brightness to match the original image. The monitor shows detail, but colors appear dim.

Bad news: I didn't know this conversion was one-way. This will only work going from HDMI to VGA; not the other way around. You may know this. I didn't. If you didn't and you're reading this: it won't work for you. You're welcome. My fault, not Best Buy's.

Does not work to connect Mac Mini to VGA monitor

It doesn't connect although the Best Buy rep said it did. When back and got the MiniDisplay to VGA cable from Apple which is identical but does allow to connector to communicate.
