I have a Samsung model RFG237AARS side by side refrigerator. The original filter model is Samsung DA29 0003G. The last time I was able to buy the original from Amazon was October 2024. I purchased a filter from an alternate site and it did not twist in securely like the genuine filter. The notches on the filter is clearly off. Though it claimed to be a genuine filter, the authentication label did not pass. I’m saying this to be weary of those who claim “genuine”. With the original, I can hear a swish sound and align the arrows with a 3/4 twist. With the alternate filter I previously bought along with this Best Buy Essentials brand, the filters barely twist in and there is no loud swishing sound or alignment of arrows. I will keep the latter because the taste of the water is better than that of the former. There is no aftertaste. I really don’t know how much this filter is cleaning the water but it does taste better than tap water.

Have used these for many years. They work well and have had no issues.

This refrigerator water filter works great and is a lot cheaper than the Samsung brand.

I think the Best Buy essentials water filter is a good replacement for the Best Buy Insignia brand water filter. I believe the Insignia brand is rebranded to BB essentials and it certainly is more cost efficient than the Samsung brand for my refrigerator, and believe me, I've done my homework for this filter.

Fits correctly, seems to work and this is cheaper than brand name filter. Installs just like the original.

For my 12-13 old Samsung fridge, finding filters that will fit properly is getting tougher. This filter has the same shape of the “locking collars” that the old original Samsungs had. The new Samsung oem filters for quite a number of years haven’t fit because they changed the shape of the locking collars. Pretty dumb that original equipment won’t work. This fit perfectly and install easily. These replaced the old Best Buy Insignia brand I used to buy.

Works perfectly with my Samsung refrigerator. No difference between this and the Samsung brand. Fits perfectly. Everything is so expensive, I’ll save money where i can.

It fits, it works, and it is a lot less money. Sadly, there isn't a compatibility chart for these, maybe there are just so darn many Samsung models this fits. It looks exactly like the Samsung filter. This is the style that sits horizontally. There is a round convex area with a bar in it (sort of like a gas grill control) for removing and inserting the cartridge. Probably the best way to be certain this is the correct cartridge is to buy it, carefully remove it from the box but don't remove the plastic wrap; remove the old one from the refrigerator, and compare the two. If they match, awesome. If they don't, replace the old cartridge into the fridge and return the wrong size. The only difference I can see, Samsung includes a set of twelve month stickers (a reminder for when to change the cartridge). For almost double the price, I'll make my own sticker.

I buy these water filters & change them regularly as recommended by the Samsung refrigerator owner's manual. They seem to filter well. I haven't died from toxic poisoning yet. Water is clear and they seem to be doing their job. Easy to install. lol

It did the trick. My ice and my water don't taste like garbage anymore coming out of my refrigerator after replacing the filter. It was on clearance too, so that was a win all the way around. We bought 2 simply because there were 2 left on clearance. The install was a pain, but it's not the filter's fault I bought a refrigerator that wanted to play hide-and-seek with the filter.
