Due to the pandemic, are townhome complex gym was closed. My wife ended up buying various exercise equipment for our home which included weights, a treadmill and bike. With our workouts, we needed something to help soothe sore muscles. In comes the Beurer Infrared Heat Lamp. I’ve seen similar devices used in medical offices for such treatment and was excited to try it at home. It’s a pretty simple to set up and use. You are struck with how small this device is, and how it can be placed on the floor or on a table top for which ever muscles you want to target. There are handles on each side of the lamp for adjusting. When powered on, the infrared light is really intense. It was necessary to use the included eye shields in order that you would it damage your eyesight. The heat that was emanating was pretty warm, adjustable from 0 to 50 degrees and felt good on my muscles. The timer was perfect because with the eye shield in, my eyes would naturally close and I would begin dozing off. The timer helps keep me awake and safe. The ceramic glass plate and ventilation to prevent overheating assured me that I would not hurt myself. Overall, a great product for those who need some warm healing touches.

    Heat therapy with medical benefits

This device was a new approach for me that I was unfamiliar with. As I researched the benefits of heat therapy and infrared light I knew this would be a great medical aid for my household. This Beurer infrared heat lamp gives off an incredible amount of heat from it's 300W output, paired with a built-in fan and infrared light. For someone like me that has the aches and pains from years of playing competition level track and cross country running, I struggle with pain all over my body. This technology has helped me to get some heat therapy relief in my knees, lower back, shoulders, forearms, and ankles for example. It's a feeling of comfort and relief as you sit or lay in front of this. I relate this to a sauna-like feel as the heat penetrates the skin and the infrared light helps to help activate the cells under the skin to get blood flowing. Another creative way to use this infrared lamp is for colds. As the weather changes here where I live the days are getting colder and I've come down with a simple cold. Using the provided eye coverings allows me to sit in front of the lamp to absorb the heat therapy into my chest, neck, and sinus area. This has helped me to alleviate nasal drainage and help me to feel awakened at the same time. The unit is small and portable, and easy to use. The face of the therapy lamp tilts and the handles help to adjust it up and down. The surface of the ceramic glass will get very hot so be cautious. The timer has a visual display that you can set the time for your desired period. Overall I feel this is a valuable tool for self health and self care. For someone like myself that doesn't want to continually take medication for aches and pains, this is an ideal home therapy product. I use this for aches and pains in joints and muscles after a hard workout, or even after a long day of working at an office desk. The heat on my hands, wrist, and neck all help to rejuvenate me. PRO: Light therapy is a physical and mental boost Easy to use buttons Lightweight for portability CON: N/A

The Beurer - Infrared Heat Lamp is an amazing medical device that performs even better than advertised! This tool transforms joint pain by flooding the body with soothing infrared heat. It is a highly adjustable machine that allows placement on a desk, on the floor, or a nearby stand or table with the shade adjustable from 0 to 50 degrees. This allows you to work at a desk while the infrared heat treatment is healing your body. The LED Display shown on the front panel allows you to personally select your optimum treatment time. A built-in cord winder prevents a messy look & makes transporting this device easy & neat. My wife suffers from a lack of circulation in her legs. This Beurer Infrared Heat Lamp is the perfect tool to address this issue. While working at her desk, she found placement on the floor was the best location to direct the healing heat to the areas that were painful. After each treatment, she feels amazing! Safety was a very high priority in the build construction of this Beurer Infrared Heat Lamp. Here are a few key safety features: 1- 100% UV blocker 2- Timer with automatic switch-off after set time expires 3- Active ventilation to prevent overheating 4- Overheating protection 5- Ceramic glass plate for safety CONCLUSION: This tool looks, feels & performs as a premium quality medical device. It far exceeds my expectations & earns my Highest Recommendation!

I'm not sure I experienced any long term benefits

This is a very interesting product, to help with a very specific problem. As I'm now in middle age, my body isn't what it used to be. And I've developed back pain, peripheral neuropathy, had a heart attack, and more. With that said, I tried this unit. And what I found is that like with most who have back pain, the heat lamp did provide immediate comfort and relief for the back pain. The problem with it, is how to use it. I say this because it's really like a table top sized piece of equipment, albeit lightweight and has neat handles to hold it. But I cannot hold it and get relief to my back. So, I sit it on a tabletop and point it towards the height needed, and stand in front of it. That unfortunately doesn't help when I stand, because standing causes more back pain. And with people and dogs coming along and investigating everything, I cannot set it up on an a chair and point it at my back, without worrying someone will trip or sit in front of it and hurt themselves (the dogs). I tried it with my feet, but having to hold it so far away to be useful is the same issue. So this would leave having someone to hold it and supervise it being used on my back, which I don't have anyone to help me with that. Maybe it's just me, but this is not something I would recommend for anyone in my situation, with back pain, or anywhere really, because it is too hard to use. It does feel good to have the intense heat applied to the sore areas, yes, it works for that purpose. But because of what I mentioned above, it is too cumbersome to keep using on a frequent basis so I am not sure how it would work out if you could use it a couple of times a day, over a month for example. Might work great, but I am not able to figure out how to do that. Oh, before I forget, the heat that comes off of this reminds me of when you'd go to hotels some years ago and in the bathroom was a heat lamp that would shine down on you and make you feel all warm and cozy when you got out of the shower. Like the red french fry lamps of yesteryear. Hot for sure!

Fine heat lamp--a bit awkward as a therapy device

Back when I was younger, my bedroom was in the basement; it was always cold in wee hours of a wintry Minnesota morning and I used to turn on a short, floor seated radiant heater to warm up the bathroom while I was taking a shower. It was a nice way to get the room feeling toasty and comfortable without my parents needing to burn all the excess gas and electricity to keep the entire basement heated. That's kind of what this lamp reminds me of...it's a small radiant heater with a fan powerful enough to blast some heat out to about 1-2 feet away, but I found it somewhat awkward to use consistently as a personal "therapy device." Now, that's not to say it does not provide some pain relief...it certainly does; my wife's aching muscles in her thighs and my painful lower back all received a pleasant bit of relief from using the Beurer heat lamp. If you have some sore and aching body parts and would like to focus some heat therapy on the affected area, this actually does a good job. The problem (at least for us) is that it's not really convenient to use depending on where you need the relief delivered. For example, the front of my wife's thighs have been really sore lately after she took up karate--we thought we'd try the heat lamp to give her some relief. However, the design is such that you can't easily use this device on that portion of her legs while seated. Specifically, the ceramic heating element only tilts upwards from vertical, so in order to warm the front of her upper legs and thighs, we had to place the heater on a low-rise chair, aim it upwards, and she had to stand in front of it...even the bathroom countertop was too high as the heat tended to concentrate at her waist and stomach. The built-in timer adjusts from 15 minutes of operation down to 1, but that's still 1-15 minutes of pain relief that can only be delivered while standing. Similarly, my pain is centered in my lower back; I'm a taller guy, so I had to put the lamp on a tabletop, then stand with my back to it to get any relief...again, not very relaxing or stress-relieving over the long-haul. I suppose I could have laid on my side on the bed and tried aiming the lamp at my back that way, but the unit is light enough to bounce around and move out of place or even fall over on our unstable pillow-top mattress, and I didn't have a nightstand I could reposition or stool I could move into place to get the lamp at just the right height and position to hit my lower back. I think my misgivings about this unit are partly my fault--I saw the handles on the sides and figured it could be lifted off of the stand and held in place manually. That is not the case, however--the lamp and stand are fully integrated which makes it kind of awkward if you want to hold it for the duration of your heat therapy session. If you're comfortable standing up, or sticking an affected limb out and holding it in front of the heater to aim its relief where you need it, then okay; but otherwise, any use of this lamp while seated is pretty much limited to what you hit from 1-2 feet away while shooting up from the floor (which will basically end the heat treatment at your shins or maybe kneecaps), laterally from a chair, or across from you at countertop or tabletop height. The effect is also fairly diffuse--if your shoulder is the only thing that needs some heat relief, you can plan on getting at least a half face-full of heat treatment there as well. Controls are mercifully simple--there is only one power button and one timer button to adjust the duration of the heat treatment downward from 15 minutes in 1-minute increments. The remaining time is helpfully displayed on a large red easy-to-read LED display at the bottom of the unit. Although the lamp gets warm enough to provide some therapeutic relief, there are no heat level adjustments for greater or lesser heating intensity. The unit is fairly lightweight, clocking in at just under 3.5 lbs--but again, it's bulky and awkwardly shaped enough that holding it in place by the side handles probably isn't a viable long-term option--I've pictured it below next to a hair dryer to give you a sense of just how big it is out of the box. The built-in "cord winder" is really just a pair of cord keeper studs in the hollowed-out area underneath the stand, but this does allow you to keep the lamp out on a table or shelf without a lengthy power cord snaking out the back--definitely a nice touch. Speaking of touching...the lamp assembly does get very warm and the shell is all plastic so it stays warm to the touch for quite some time after use. If you need to put the lamp away after heat therapy, you need to give it some time to cool down and remember to only grab it by the side handles (this might seem self-evident, but the lamp is small and light enough that you might be tempted to lift or stabilize a portion of the plastic stand or lamp assembly as well). Finally, I measured fan noise at roughly 60 decibels at about 1 foot away with my old analog SLP meter; this really isn't overly loud, about the level of a typical spoken conversation, but it's definitely not a silent unit, and there is no way to activate the heating element without having the fan running as well. As a portable heating lamp, the Beurer actually does what it is advertised to do, but I just don't know how practically it does so given the physical design/limitations...an adjustable electric heating pad seems like it might be more versatile in more situations. However, this lamp IS effective at relieving pain and for getting a good portion of your body surrounding the affected area toasty warm and comfortable in the process (once you angle and maneuver the right body parts at the right height in front of the heating element)--but as home therapy device, especially when no one is around to hold/aim the lamp for you, the design just feels just a bit too impractical for long-term repeated use unless you happen to need the heat therapy aimed at a body part that is conveniently situated facing front and at the proper height.

Very happy with this purchase. I’m getting to that age where i don’t bounce back as quickly as i used to from general soreness caused by activities. I still like to distance run multiple times a week as well as playing in several beer hickey leagues. I’ve taken to using a heating pad after these activitea to improve blood flow and expedite healing. Saw this product and it has definitely been an upgrade. The heat is strong, dont need to have direct contact on the skin as i did with the heating pad, conveniently imcludes an auto shut off timer after up to 15 minutes. Sits solidly on a base and the heat source rotates up and down (but not sise to side) almost 90 degrees. So far i havent had to contort my body badly to get the heat where it needs to be. It also has handles so it can be held in place to het to other areas. Overall been a good product for me so far.

At first I thought this was nothing more than a heater, but it does actually provide instant relief for the muscle spasms and wrist pain I am getting more and more frequently. PROS - Easy to use - Nearly instant results - Can be use almost anywhere on the body CONS - Not sure of the light bulb lifespan - Price point is a but much for what you get - Depending on what part of the body it is used for it can be a little awkward to use sometimes If you have regular chronic pain and spasms this is a great useful tool.. I would probably try to find it cheaper though. I just don't see it as worth the price point.

Excellent product. German design and quality shows even in such a seemingly simple plastic product. No cheap, flimsy plastic. Thoughtfully made with giant handles so you can easily tilt it without burning yourself. Important since you need to wear the included eye protection and won’t be able to see where you are reaching. They even put a white LED underneath so you can easily ensure that it’s placed on a flat surface, reducing further chances of tipping it. Love this brand! Sinuses be gone.

This heat lamp gets real hot and feels great on sore spots. The only issue I found is that the light gets so bright yet is hard to not look at it. The instructions have several disclaimers that I think must be followed intently, and the main one is to not look at the light. I found this easier said than done since the face of the lamp is so large. The lamp even includes small glasses like when you go to the tanning salon. You also have to be very careful where you place the lamp. The instructions also tell you where and where not to place the lamp since the heat can be so intense. The lamp itself does get very hot, and the infrared technology does penetrate the area. While the heat is working it feels very soothing. I do like using it, I just debate if it is much better than a heating pad. I suppose it is better in the fact that it does not need to make contact with the skin, I am just not so sure it is worth it.

I bought this after checking many reviews and comments and this was the top rated infrared heat lamp. It's the right size and weight to move around easily, but it still feels substantial and well made. There are many advantages that I found, but I was interested in help with melatonin production and joint aches and pain. It's still early, but I'm pleased with the results and would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality infrared lamp.

Very good quality. Made well and works well. I use it regularly. A little pricey but I didn't mind paying that for such a good product. Most people who buy this appear to use it for sore muscles and such, but I work in an office with no windows and while it is not a replacement for natural sunlight, I believe it does help with my mood, has an effect on my energy level, and helps with my sleep cycle.

I wanted to like the Beurer Infrared Heat Lamp in White. I suffer from fibromyalgia. I find heat very soothing in general. Since this is pitched as helping relieve pain, I thought this would be great. It’s not even a good heater, let alone a therapeutic device. I don’t find consumer items to be warm enough for me, so it could just be my personal preference. I’ve purchased things like heating pads and things that wrap around your neck to soothe muscle tension. They don’t work on me because they don’t get warm enough. Good for safety, but bad for me. The unit comes with the kind of protective goggles that you would receive for use inside a tanning bed at a salon. I didn’t use them, but the instructions say to wear them to protect your eyes should you use the device on your face. I put the device at the recommended distance at first. I didn’t feel any heat at all. So, I sat very close to it. Barely any heat. All I felt was annoyed that I was sitting almost on top of it and wasn’t feeling much output. No relief at all. I think this is a good idea but it didn’t work out for me.
