I thought that these speakers would be cheap sounding because of their reasonable price, but no they're very professional sounding when teamed with my Marantz NR1200 receiver. They sound fantastic, worth every penny!!!

WOW! I am in love with these speakers! I want to start off with saying that I am a newbie with amps and all of that but I went online and read and read. I first tried using these speakers with a Sony receiver and they didn’t sound great and the receiver didn’t power the speakers good enough. I then went and bought a Crown XLS 1000 model amp. The guy at guitar center told me how to hook it up and I read online how to do it. I made sure the amp wasn’t stronger than the speakers. When I plugged the amp into the receiver it sounded bad, it was lower than the set up without the amp. I went back to Guitar Center and the associate told me to bring in my receiver. I also have a vintage Pioneer receiver that I took to the store as well. The associate told me it’s not me, I did everything correctly. He hooked up both of my receivers to his setup in the store and it did the same thing, barely any power. So he told me I should get a mixer and hook up the amp to that with no receiver. I listened to him and today I hooked up the amp to the mixer and ditched my receiver and I can’t even describe to everyone here how amazing these speakers sound. There is so much power and the bass rattles my house. These speakers are absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend an amp and I like a mixer more than a stereo receiver. I don’t listen to the radio at all so I don’t mind. I DJ as a hobby and I used to DJ on turntables for 10 years but now I use a DJ controller instead. I hooked up the DJ controller to the mixer as well, I love how I can still use the features on the DJ controller even though it’s hooked up to a mixer. I also bought a Bluetooth receiver and hooked that up to the mixer, it was $14 on Amazon and I can stream music from my phone to my sound system. I know this review is for the speakers but I wanted to share all this info for someone who is thinking to maybe have the same set-up as I do. I had no idea how to shop for an amp or hook any of it up but I mainly taught myself. You won’t regret getting these speakers, they are the best speakers I have ever owned.

Big "old school" loudspeakers

Big old school loudspeakers. Sound great! Crystal clear deep base and ear piercing highs. I'm driving them with only 105 watt per channel amp and can only turn it up about 2/3 of the way before I feel like I might be causing damage to my ears! lol. This is a LOT of speaker for $400 a pair & free shipping. I thought about buying a second pair as a back up just in case I ever fried these out but with 225 watt RMS & 430 watt peak max, I don't know that I could fry them out with my 105 watt per channel set up but you never know.

Poor man's speaker, to try to impress others.

These are nothing more than the poor man's version of speaker. Where someone wants to try and impress others because of the size and half way decent nice cabinets.
I purchased these because of the misleading sensitivity value listed, they are not. We did test on these and their values were much out of range (lower) than listed.
Though I don't think you'll have to go that far to figure it out. Just pull out the speakers and look them and the inside. I can purchase a lot better speaker components for less than $20. The High Frequencies sound very tinny and the lows have no punch to them. Though I found that out when I looked at the back of the woofer. Good god, are they horrible. Needless to say, these will now be resting out in the garage for when I'm out there doing something, which is hardly ever. Do yourself a favor spend more and get a lot more. I recently purchased some Tektons and they BLOW these away, on any level. And the Tekton specs are valid, unlike these.

These speakers sound pretty good and the price is even better. The clarity and quality is just right.
These speakers are bi-amped so the highs can have it's own channel and the lows can have it's own separate channel from a source or you can just one run line and play them both from one channel.
I would recommend these speakers to anyone without hesitation with confidence of their satisfaction.

These speakers are amazing; they truly punch well above their price point. You are likely going to outgrow your amp/ receiver before you are done with these. Great speakers for classic rock and rollers and audiophiles.

Wait till you have to actually call them...

Wait till you have to act upon their 5 Year warranty claim. Possibly the worse company ever. They NEVER answer the phone, all you'll ever get is "Heidi's" automated answering recording. GUARANTEED!!
Speaker blew within 7 months now I'm standing here with No Warranty fix. If you don't believe it... Go ahead and try to call and also, try ANY extension. Guaranteed you'll get the SAME recorded Heidi message from 4 years ago. The warranty claims/tech support aren't even at the same number (location). They are located in ANOTHER state (Shawn) . Heidi is probably a household number in a vacant California house/company. Horrible company, and cheap product to boot, rinky-dink speakers . Don't chance the $500 plus investment on a company that you cannot reach. I did.......Don't say you haven't been warned.

These speakers look and sound great. They are also well constructed and came very well packaged, so there was no damage to the cabinets when the arrived.
The ability to bi-amp these speakers, and their built in crossovers was a big reason for purchasing them.

Not the greatest speakers in the world obviously.. anyone who knows a little about home audio knows that..so some people's reviews are just dumb expecting these to be high end..i paid $200 for one of these and $100 for one brand new of OfferUp so i font know why the price went up from $200 to $500..not worth the $500 but as for the speakers they are loud and boomy..just something to have fun with and play loud if you have the space and don't live in an apartment.. they will shake the walls if you want them to..i have them in my garage and they remind me of my youth with all the rack systems that were popular..

An incredible bargain... if you have enough room.

Searching for speakers that can do it all? Congratulations, you found them… if you have enough room.
The RTRs are astonishing, both in sound quantity and sound quality. Amazingly balanced with output capability well beyond anything safe or sane. Bass feels endless and effortless, deep and full without being boomy or muddy. Mids are clear and distinct. Highs are crisp without being harsh. Are they as pinpoint precise as a KEF or ELAC, no, but they aren’t $600 a pop, either. Plus, they can reliably and enjoyably reproduce low frequencies that smaller “audiophile” speakers could never hope to reach.
Audio quality far exceeds what their modest price would suggest. Does that mean you need a Super Mega Amp to drive them? No. They respond well to power but overall sensitivity is absolutely amazing. I bought these to replace aging Optimus Mach II mains on my home theater system. The trusty old Machs were easily the most sensitive speakers I’ve ever owned but the RTRs are at a whole new level. I initially left everything as-is and just swapped speakers. I thought I had messed up something. The mains were dominating everything, the center and rears almost inaudible. It took a bit to realize the RTRs were simply that much more sensitive, especially below 150 Hz. Restoring overall balance required dialing 4 dB out of the mains and trimming out some lows. (For you non-audio types, 4dB is a lot).
Impromptu testing with a little 45w receiver from my workshop easily produced uncomfortable volume levels. Does that mean the RTRs can't handle more power? Not even remotely. During testing and break in with my 110w/channel main amp I pushed volume levels to the point dishes were rattling in the upstairs cupboard. The speakers never broke stride and audio quality never wavered. Will you also need a dedicated subwoofer? No. Feed these monsters sufficient power and they're fully capable of reducing everything in the immediate vicinity to dust. They dig below 30 Hz with ease and can do so at SPLs well beyond anything reasonable, comfortable, or healthy. Unless you're dead set on lighting up seismographs two counties over, there's simply no need for a sub.
Are they big? No. They are friggin' HUGE. Same footprint as my old Machs, but a full foot plus some taller and almost twice as heavy. It’s weight for a reason, though, and right where it’s needed. Solid cabinet construction and substantial drivers.
While not exactly cheap, they are still affordable in the extreme relative to offerings of comparable quality and performance. In terms of performance for the price they are the screaming bargain of the century. I've heard speakers costing substantially more which these monsters will easily outperform, both in quality and quantity.
All in all, very much approved and recommended.
