Excellent dishwasher. So quiet I hardly know it's on. And I've never had dishes come out as clean and as sparkling dry as with this Bosch. Wonderful purchase, great design, great product.

This Bosch 800 series SHEM78ZH5N dishwasher replaced an older Bosch that ran for 20 years and worked quite well during that time. When it finally broke, I knew that I only wanted a quality Bosch dishwasher to replace it. The plumbers that Best Buy contracted to do the installation were quite knowledgeable and answered all my questions which made the installation a breeze. I waited for a month after installation until I posted a review, so that I could run the machine through a number of cycles and I am quite pleased with the performance. It passed all of my tests. This 800 series dishwasher is quiet and washes dishes and plastics well. The CrystalDry function for plastics works well also. Plastics are almost completely dry when I take them out after the cycle. I particularly like the digital display that is constantly changing allowing you to see what part of the cycle is going on in the dishwasher. The outer stainless steel construction is also another attractive feature of the dishwasher. In conclusion, another top notch Bosch solidly designed dishwasher that I hope lasts as long as my previous model.

We previously had a nice dishwasher but had to leave it at our house when we moved. Having roughed it for a few years with a "builders' special", it finally gave up during the Covid lockdown. I immediately checked out reviews and Consumer Reports to see what was recommended, The Bosch dishwashers were ranked very high but they had not reviewed this model. I took a bit of a chance but so far, am very happy with this one. Best Buy delivered it as promised, with the extra install kit and the part Bosch make for American, hard-wired connections. I thought I could get away with not using that but when I tried the standard plug, it did not work - likely the circuit was incomplete where I had removed the old dishwasher (hard-wired). Using the Bosch kit which Best Buy thoughtfully supplied took care of this problem. The dishwasher is not too heavy for two people to move but would be for one. We had a dolly handy to move it from the garage, where Geek Squad delivered it but ended up not needing it as two of us (husband/wife) were able to carry it in the house once it was unpacked. Install took some time as it was the first dishwasher I have ever tried to install myself but it went very well. Removing the old dishwasher was very easy and installing the Bosch had a few irritating moments but was mostly ok. Adjusting the height on the dishwasher feet was poor - you need a combination of a screwdriver and your strength to turn the feet clockwise or anti-clockwise. I felt this could have been made easier. Adjusting the rear feet was way better - you just turned a screw in the front that made small adjustments to the back and I wished they had that for the front. Once installed, you can set the dishwasher up on your Wi-Fi network. You don't have to but it would defeat the object of buying this model if you did not and you can get a cheaper model if you don't want this feature. I found the Wi-Fi setup a bit clumsy and I work in the I.T. sector. I did get it figured out fairly quickly though and since then, it has been robust. The display on the front of the dishwasher is nice when a program is running as it will show you the part of the program it is on (with basic graphics), the time it expects to finish or how many hours/minutes left and a line graph of where it is in the program. The control panel is hidden at the top of the door and lets you start a program fairly rapidly. You don't push the buttons so much as gently touch them. If you push, you can get no response but if you gently touch, you hear a corresponding beep. It takes a bit of getting used to but works fairly well. You can start a program remotely, from the app but you still have to put a tablet or detergent in the dishwasher and press a button to permit remote start which on the control panel. I suppose this stops any false starts and would be useful if you want it ready to go but don't want it to start until you go to bed. Having said that, there is no reason you can't run the dishwasher whenever you want. It says it is 42dba - I haven't measured it and that is likely an average of its entire cycle but I think it is super quiet at all stages! It almost makes us whisper when it is on as we are much louder than the dishwasher, even on the main wash part of the cycle. It is absolutely covered in noise reducing insulation and probably has other tricks up its sleeve as well. The drying feature works well but is not miraculous. It does better with plastic than any other dishwasher I have tried but still leaves some puddles on the top of glasses or plastics, if there is a rim and they are not angled. It is a good effort by Bosch though and something I can live with. The auto wash is excellent and we were very impressed with how it dealt with all kinds of stuck on foods. It seems to use the Rinse Aid correctly and everything came out of the dishwasher with a nice, clean sheen. You can adjust how much rinse aid is used in the settings either on the dishwasher or in the app settings. The dishwasher has the other optional wash settings as well, such as sanitize, 1 hour and half load. I like the feature you can turn on that shows an estimate of how economical a specific wash and options is in terms of power and water you will use. The Bosch 800 series dishwasher seems to be very roomy with two main racks for crockery, pots. pans and glasses and a little tray at the top that can accommodate cutlery or other specialty items. The tray can be angled on the sides to allow some deeper items and the rack below that is adjustable to three heights as well. I find this dishwasher to a great step up from the previous one we owned and I hope it runs well for us, for many years to come. I would definitely recommend it.

These Bosch dishwasher really are the best we have owned. By choosing an open box item we could get the top of the line 800 series for a very good price. I love the third shelf as it greatly expands the capacity. The drying by the crystal dry system is great also even though it is not perfect and some plastic ware is wet on occasion. The cleaning function is fantastic and the machine is as quiet as advertised.

I've been using this for over a year now. It's the best dishwasher I've ever owned. All the appliance experts and leading consumer testing centers recommend Bosch hands down. There's a reason. It simply works like a beast. It's super quiet and does far better than I could ever do washing dishes by hand. I use Cascade complete, and I regularly clean the filter. If you do those two things, you will have great results too.

I love my new dishwasher and deliberately sought to purchase a Bosch. The reason for 4 stars is the silverware does not stay in place well when loading between loads. I realy love the 3rd upper rack option but wish it didn't seem as if I have to rearrange the cutlery each time I open the drawer. Extremely quiet dishwasher & great features.

I'm really enjoying this 800 series dishwasher (SHEM78ZH5N), its super quiet, washes really well - doesn't disturb my TV viewing. You do have to do a quick wash off food but it takes care washing of rest easily. I surprised that all 3 trays work really well. The rince-aid takes care of stains wonderfully on all my items. Drying time does take a little while but comes out great! My one and only gripe is mobile phone remote control requires turning on before each wash and disables if you open the door, I really would like this to be a more permanent option so I can control, get notices and reminders on my phone.

Pricey but you get what you pay for! Cleans and dries very well, and is so quiet! Can hardly hear it. Everything feels solid and well-built. Door opens/closes nicely w just the right amount of tension so it can stay somewhat cracked to let steam out, and doesn't immediately drop down like our old washer. 3 rows help immensely and lots of customization for better fit. Silverware insert is also nicely designed, and I like how it has a high "guard" to protect sharp utensils like forks that face up. Little things but well thought out. Wish the 2md row was just a tad lower to better fit larger bowls, but then again that may impact the size of plates on the bottom rack. Longevity of course is TBD, but just the feel of it suggests it should last much longer than the cheaply-built GE ("Profile" series, I believe). Anyway, a massive upgrade over our old GE that came w the house and died after 3 years. This is 10x better at 1.5x the (retail) price. Oh and I bought this with TotalTech, as the installation paid for itself, and includes a nice warranty (if I re up TotalTech next year). Best Buy customer service was also great, helped me find a hard to get item (Bosch 800 series).

It's not as quiet as my previous Bosch dishwasher. I got this one because it was one of the only ones available in stock, otherwise I wouldn't have chosen a wifi model. The wifi connection is sort of useless, in my opinion. You have to activate remote start by pushing a button on the dishwasher each time you want to use remote start. I do like the 3rd rack and the capacity is really nice. I like the adjustable 2nd rack as well. I would not spend the extra money for wifi if I had the option.

We've been running this Bosch Model SHEM78ZH5N for a year now. We've been exceptionally happy with it. Does a great job cleaning and is very very quite. Do we use the Wi-Fi feature? Absolutely not. But I would buy the dishwasher again (without wi-fi).

Expensive, but nice to have if your budget supports it. Loaded correctly, most items including plastic dry very well. Only those items that pool significant amounts of water don't dry well. If you use the Wi-Fi feature, it will let you know when to add more rinse aid, and when the cycle is done. You can remote start if if you want. Relatively speaking, it's as quiet as I have seen. But, it's not silent. The third top rack allows you to wash more items in one load. Fit and finish, and build quality seems very good to me. I'm happy with the purchase. But, I don't think it's an excellent value unless you *really* need its features.

So far so good. This was a warranty exchange for a Kitchenaid top of the line, 3rd rack that had problem after problem. We had a Bosch before and even without the drying function, loved it. It lasted about 5 years. So when the 3rd rack, deep 2nd rack Kitchenaid came out, I was sold. This Bosch has the third rack, but it's very shallow so you can really only put utensils there. The photo shows "cups" but they are likely espresso cups...very small. Can't do custard cups or even our kitchn tongs, hardly fit. The remote start is kind of odd in that you have to tell it you will be doing it remotely by pushing a button...it seems like...every time...which kind of defeats the purpose of remote, but I am still trying to figure it out. We usually use one setting and so far it's worked fine. While it is quiet, this pump must be a little more powerful than the last, as I do hear the water moving around at the air gap whereas I didn't hear that (or notice it) for prior machines. I am not yet sure it's worth the money. The door is kind of rickety, can be twisted a little bit side to side, but the jury is still out on this one. Oh, and no manual is given to find out all the features, so I have to hunt them down. Once I do, I might change this to 5 stars, but it's a good solid 4 for now.
