    Better Off with Something Else--BOSE!

You might think at $600 for a clock radio/CD player with good speakers you wouldn't want for anything. Sadly, this system from Bose is very Underwhelming! First, the unit is not even attached which is awkward and it separates. I can see no purpose for that--it is just plain dumb! Also, only 6 presets for stations? Really? Even a $25 alarm clock offers that. And only one CD capacity, why not 3 at this price. I know a lot of people don't have CD's anymore, but if you're going to have it and charge these prices, let's go the extra mile for the customer instead of under-changing people. Then there is the alarm clock: you have two alarm presets and you cannot even choose days of the week--it's one size fits all. My Sony clock radio that was $20 had that...why cannot Bose offer that on this $600 clock radio? And then the icing on the cake, Bose does not have a way to turn the alarm off on the unit. Everything must be done on the tiny remote which can easily get lost. This has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Yes, you want to go in the direction of less buttons but not at the expense of practicality! You have to order another $15 remote from Bose as a backup. As far as the reception goes, it's really poor with the built-in antenna which is actually the unit's plug. Bose actually charges you $10 for an external FM antenna. I couldn't believe that the above items were the case for this "state-of-the-art" unit, the creme of the crop of clock radios so I called up Bose. And wouldn't you know, I had to wait 15 minutes to simply speak with someone, and when he answered he did not say this is Brendan with Bose, he simply said hello, it seemed like I called a neighbor down the street. Really, this is how sad your customer service is Bose. At least Apple charges a lot but has excellent customer service. A friend of mine told me recently, at one time Bose was a great brand, when Mr. Bose was alive, but since that time, Bose has become a marketing company which happens to sell speakers. Ever notice any other speaker companies advertising or opening stores in every mall, no that's because those companies put their money into their speakers, ie. B&W, Klipsch, Sonos, etc. Bose over-hypes all of its products and charges top-dollar for them. Basically, Bose wants to charge you the most it can to give you the least possible in every way! For this price, I could've gotten Ihome's top-of-the-line clock radio/stereo and hooked it up to two Sonos speakers which would blow this thing away. I think it's one and done for you Bose!

Rethink your thinking on Bose wave radio

Purchased March 30th 2018 . Settting up the Bose was actually pretty easy . Connected to the WiFi simple . My first thing is did was play a cd . The sound quality? Eh ok . I then used the Bose app ,internet radio you have to turn the volume up because it’s so compressed and the sound quality again is eh ok . The best sound is from playing cds . The fm stinks . The internet radio quality stinks . I tried to like this $600 dollar overpriced marketing genius wave radio . Packed it up and returned it April 3rd . I consider myself a audiophile snob of sorts but this is based on sound NOT looks . I gave Bose a shot and Bose lost . Stay away from this CLOCK radio at best . Unless you got money to burn and you like crap sound then hey then this Bose wave radio is for you . One more thing I would like to add . The insignia table radio at bestbuy sounds worlds better for hundreds less . DO NOT BUY the wave radio . Trust this review or find out for yourself . Why are there good reviews . I have NO clue !

    Poor Connectivity

I bought this system back in March (2017). The system would not stay connected to my wifi for more then 3-4 songs when I would use it to play my iTunes music from my PC. Because of this, I connected my system via Ethernet. Even with an Ethernet connection the system has a problem connecting. It would take several attempts of starting the Bose app in order to get the system to connect. Now the system does not work at all with the wifi or Ethernet connection and does not recognize the system. It appears that the pedestal does not work at all which means no connection to your wifi or PC. Therefore, the system is reduced to being an overpriced radio/cd player. I've had and used various Bose speaker and headphone products over the years. I would not recommend this product period! Very disappointed in this BOSE product.

Buy something else for Internet listening!

I bought this system for its claimed use of vTuner, which has access to the station I wanted to listen to. Sadly, the first software upgrade which I needed to install to configure the SoundTouch, replaced vTuner with Tune-in, which does not. Bose is deaf to user complaints, as can be seen from the Bose Community web site. In January 2019 Bose provided a method of configuring your own URLs, but you are on your own to find the URL to use, and even then you get poor sound, if anything at all.

I own many Bose speakers. This is the first stereo that I have bought made by Bose. Looked forward to a great music system based on the prior products I purchased. The built in antenna does not work well. I could only catch 2 FM channels. I live very near a large city with plenty of radio stations. I looked online to purchase the external antenna but they were out of stock. Bose should have included the external antenna for the price charged. Very dissatisfied. Would have given no star if possible. Returned the Bose music system to Best Buy. No problem with the return to Best Buy.

I have Bose Soundtouch 20 and 10 systems already. I bought the Wave so I could easily listen to CDs. I would love it except that the "play anywhere" function does not work when you are playing a CD. If this is made clear in the marketing information, I missed it. If it isn't, then Bose needs to state up front that if you want to play music that you have on CDs on all your Bose systems, you have to rip them and put them on a PC and then stream them. Not everyone wants to do that.

Bose does not stand behind their products beyond the warranty period. I purchased a Wave radio/cd in 2011. The CD stopped working and I attempted to get it repaired. I was informed that Bose no longer serviced that model. I was extremely upset. They should at least have offered to replace it with another model at cost. Don't know about you, but when I pay over $500 for a radio/cd, I expect to keep it for a lifetime.

This Wave Touch has been quite the disappointment. Maybe this is a defective item however when we tried to exchange with Best Buy we were rejected then when contacting Bose still NO response or resolution to a poor quality item. This speaker constantly loses connection, cannot be recognized on network, will not play radio stations or preset stations so basically it is just a super expensive dust collector.

    ALARM 1

i purchased this unit last Feb. After 5 weeks, while playing soundtouch and reached the alarm time, the music stop, the Alarm 1 has no buzzer sound, it just blinking, Alarm 2 is sometimes the same problem with Alarm 1. The sound is great but it is very important to me the alarm system too. I think this unit is defective. I can't return it to best buy because it expired aready. This is my 12th Bose product & i'm very dissapointed, its just like buying an expensive car and some of the features failed to operate.

It does not play the CDs on Wi-Fi speakers!!! There are no controls on the device itself, even for the basic functions and the apps does not work more than half of the time!?!? I do not get any information or display that what is wrong or what is needed to correct the problem!?!? BOSE is going to a wrong direction.

The base is so strong it is irritating to listen to. There is no way to adjust that. You have to be a space scientist to set up the sound touch system. I am not a space scientist, so will now have to hire the Geek Squad to do it for me. Perhaps that was all by design.
