We've used our Breville compact smart oven/toaster for nearly 3 months. Our overall impression is very good and we would recommend this product. We like several features including the controls. For example, it's simple to switch among the unit's many modes such as broiling, toasting, and oven. Furthermore, a second dial facilitates quick alteration of darkness/lightness while toasting as well as the number of slices of toast. Altering this latter control changes the time and can turn off and on the heating elements for more balanced toasting. A visible countdown timer shows in the display during toasting allowing you to coordinate hot toast with hot fried or scrambled eggs. The upper surfaces of toast is cooked uniformly; while toasting on undersides is less uniform due to influences from the wire shelf. The wire shelf has three positions and glides smoothly. One thing we don't like is that the wire shelf does not pull out automatically when the door is opened (our previous unit did so). We keep a fork next to the unit to use to pull the wire shelf out so extract toast -- reaching into the oven without pulling out the shelf is dangerous given the limited space and ease of touching a hot surfaces. We do not like that the wire shelf lacks a stop -- that is, it is easy to pull the shelf out too far and end up with your toast on the floor (I've done it). The included cooking pan and tray are high quality. We've been pleased with these accessories while broiling. We've been pleased with our purchase and would recommend this product.

This oven was easy to use right out of the box. It toasts and broils evenly. I love the compact style. It's attractive and fits easily on the counter. It blends in well with our other counter top appliances. Wish I'd bought one a long time ago!

Bought the Breville model BOV650XL/B based on reviews. I did something really dumb though. I unpacked it. Followed all the instructions to prepare to use it. Got 2 slices of bread out and proceeded toast them which it did very nicely. Then I went to adjust the dial to bake fish and the setting seemed to be stuck on toast. I called tech support and it was determined my unit was defective. Breville sent me a new one with a return label for the old one. So I unpacked the 2nd unit following the instructions and again it appeared that the dial would not switch to any other setting than toast. Now I am thinking it is too much of a coincidence that two units are defective so I called tech support again. This time they suggested I remove a sticker over the screen that illuminates when the unit is on and sure enough, I felt like a complete idiot for not realizing there was a sticker there to protect the screen. It is so realistic looking I didn't even realize it was a sticker at all. Lol!! The very nice lady at tech support said she gets this call often. Perhaps Breville could include this instruction in preparing to use for the first time and/or include it in the trouble shooting chapter. Haha. Anyway, It works beautifully, evenly toasts bread and bakes accurately. I am happy with the product.

It looks and feels odd high quality. Even toasting.

The Breville compact smart oven has an attractive streamlined appearance. The instruction booklet is clear and precise and clarifies issues well. Once you have read the instructions the oven is easy to use and toasts, bakes and reheats well. Bagels come out much better than in a regular toaster. The setting knobs enable you to adapt brownness and the number of slices easily. We are very pleased so far and look forward to using the broil and roast functions.

My old Black and Decker toaster/oven stopped working so I needed another. My daughter suggested this Breville and the choice couldn't be better. It toasts two slices of bread perfectly on setting 4. I could't be happier.

This is a small compact smart oven good for quick cooking like baking small amounts, toasting bread and bagels and broiling a small amount of meat or fowl. Always dependable. Toasts bread and bagels quickly and perfectly. Does not occupy a large foot print on counter top.

Overall ok - It does toast bread at repeatable quality. Toast is generally darker on top and lighter on the bottom. Heating rods tend to heat unevenly. worst thing is the cheap springy sound the door makes as it slams shut, this closure mechanism is truly disappointing and should have been reworked since this is an important touch point. The two knobs that control the function, time and temperature are very intuitive and easy to use.

Great size toaster oven. Works well for broiling steaks and toasting bagels. Was lucky to get a very nice oven at a truly special price.

Easy to use. I toast bread and bagels mostly and does quite well. No problem with baking either. Works great with everything I’ve tried. Only problem is I occasionally get the E01 error - not when I am using it - but when I may be using a different appliance in the kitchen. If I unplug it and plug it back in it is fine.

Easy to operate and easy to clean. Toast browns well, however isn't particularly crisp because of the moisture of the bread.

Bought this oven mainly for size (smaller than the one we had) and it works and looks great. Toast comes out the same every time, which is a good thing. Has more feature that we haven't even tried out, yet. Great price, great oven!

This Compact toaster oven is top quality. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. The control/display system is excellent. The display is illuminated when in use and dimmed in stand by mode. Once you learn the best settings, it toasts and bakes evenly.

This toaster oven works very well once you figure out that you need a flashing light to change the number of slices of toast or the darkness. The manual isn't easy to use. I needed help to figure out how use it. It's multi functional - it can bake, toast, broil, and defrost. The unit looks elegant, is easy to clean, but the electronic instructions were difficult for me to decipher. I'm 88 and didn't grow up with using tech gadgets. I'm glad I bought it and would definitely recommend it to tech savvy friend. It's also reasonably priced.

We have had this oven for six weeks. It is an energy saver with all it can do. It makes awesome toast. The pizza reheats without heating up the house. It is completely adjustable for the number of items and temperature desired. While the pizza is heating you can warm the plates on top of the oven. There is a built in safety feature keeping it away from the back wall. I cannot believe it took us this long to own a toaster oven. We love it.

This was a replacement for our prior Compact Smart Oven which lasted 8 years. It is a very reliable appliance which is used for various functions multiple times a day seven days a week. Mostly used for toasting, baking and reheating, the Breville performs as needed. My family highly recommends it.

This is a great toaster oven. I like the preheat feature on the oven setting, hate to admit I never preheated before, this does a great job. toast from 1-4 slices, I toast baguette slices and easily fits 12 slices. I use the 4 slice option and all are equally toasted. Bakes frozen cookie dough at regular oven temp.

Works great for heating and toasting, nice fit for camper trailer as long as you remember to vent your space well.

I am in love with this oven toaster. It toast bread uniformly and is great for baking and broiling, This product is of incomparable value compared to most brands. A little pricey but it's worth every penny you spent on it.
