This vent hood is very quiet. I enjoy that it comes with mounting rails and small wood screws. For most people, this should be enough to mount it. However, this depends on the cabinet you are mounting to, and mine was fubar. The bottom of cabinet hang holes, are weak, and are best used with flush mounting. The rails are wonderful and hold well. I think the 42" hood is too bulky for "one man install" but it is lighter than expected. I really wish the item came with lightbulb or used standard lightbulbs, but it does not. However, it does work with Dimmable LED replacement bulbs, however the low setting may flicker at a rate that you can see. I am happy with my purchase and it looks very easy to clean. Note that in my pictures i had not finished putting the wire guard back in or cleaned it after install. The pull tabs for removing the screens hide well. For flush left side mounting like mine, you will need a spacer for the rail, a thin piece of wood or 2 layers of cardboard worked perfectly.

I used this hood to create a custom arched hood made of wood. The controls being on the underside of this unit made it a perfect fit. It was hung on the wall first after a duct was installed. Later a wood surround was built for a custom look. Performs well and is not that loud on the low setting. The screens are simple to remove and reinstall when needed. Bulbs are not included with this unit but led bulbs in this size are easy to find.

Everything I was looking for. My set up is incredibly different. As my hood width is quite a bit wider than my oven; so, that brought some shipping/installation delays. But once installed I love it. Two fan settings, two light settings. the fan works great. and the light has bright and not so bright which I have found to be wonderful.

Poor quality. Flimsy construction. Easily damaged in shipping. Avoid.
