    These are a lot of fun, I’m so glad I have them. I can have bright white light when cleaning or softer candlelight when just hanging out. When I’m ready to dial it down for the night I go red blue or green to relax. Google Home sometimes is slow but that’s not the light bulb’s fault, but 95% of the time it works flawlessly . Syncing these to Google Home Hub was also a bit challenging at first but after searching how to do it, I finally figured it out.

    Much easier to set up compare to competitors. No hub needed . No more trying to figure out if your wifi is 2g, 5g or whatever. Follow easy simple instructions on box and done.

    No connectivity issues with the app as some other reviews describe. Nice app features to turn lights on and off at set times. Ability to create rooms to see all lightbulbs in a created room. Fun colors to choose from. Overall great buy and they were on sale! Big improvement from $10 color bulbs I had previously.

    I decided to purchase these lights because of the good reviews and the variety of accessories that GE has made for these lights. Also they seemed like a great value because I am already invested in the google home ecosystem. My first issue with these lights is the fact that you have to choose if you want to use the C by GE app or the Google Home app you can’t use both to control these lights. This doesn’t sound like a big issue but it actually is. C by GE app Pros: -Control lights over Bluetooth -update lights firmware to new versions -Have full control of the lights over the full RGB spectrum - set up routines, like having lights turn from daylight during day to tungsten at night Cons: -can’t control lights over WiFi -can’t control lights with google home or assistant -only has a 30ft range for control Google Home app Pros: -Can control over WiFi -integrates with current google ecosystem -“OK google turn on lights” -can’t control from outside your home Cons: -can’t update firmware -can only select from a handful of preset colors -can’t rearrange lights in the app, they will always be listed alphabetically by room -can’t set up routines My second issue is that these light bulbs just stop responding. This issue seems to be totally random but it happens all the time. The lights will be all set up, I have 4 bulbs in my living room connected to my Google Home that is maybe 10ft. away. Sometimes I will tell google to turn the lights on and only some of the bulbs will respond, so I get up and turn the light switch on and off and then try again, the results will be totally random, One bulbs might turn on and the other 3 stay off, 2 bulbs might turn on and the other 2 stay off. The only thing I have found that helps is to factory reset the bulbs, this is a long process seriously go on YouTube and look up how to reset the C by GE bulbs, and then reconnecting the bulbs to the google home app, and this still doesn’t guarantee that the bulbs will work. I honestly wish I never got these, and that I would have spent a little more money on the Phillips Hue bulbs instead.

    Easy set up but the app glitches which sucks . These are definitely better than the ones from Amazon. Also these did not sync up with Alexa app . I had to download the original app

    So since I have a bunch of Google Homes and minis and displays I decided to try out the "made for Google" C by GE line. I initially bought a dimmer switch which worked fine and looks nice. It connects to WiFi through the C by GE app and then gets linked to your Google account through Google's version of the C by GE skill. I then purchased the 2 pack of RGBW C by GE bulbs which pair directly to the Google Home via Bluetooth. The colors were quite good...saturated and reasonably bright. If actually put them at about the same quality color as Philips, but a step below Lifx. The voice commands work fine and it's nice that it's all locally controlled versus having to phone home to China like most of the cheap RGB WiFi lights do. Then I decided to pick up the C by GE smart plug which also acts as a Bluetooth to WiFi bridge for the C by GE light bulbs. It worked fine. The HUGE drawback for anyone wishing to use a hub and/or advanced animations (scenes, dynamic colors, etc) is that these devices don't have integrations with anything other than the common voice assistants. This is fine if you're not techie and don't want to use the lights in an advanced way...but if you're thinking these are going to allow features like Hue Entertainment, there truly is no way to make this happen. I tried via ifttt, smart things, home assistant, mqtt, etc. No dice. My recommendation is to go with zigbee or z-wave compatible lights that connect to your hub. This gives you a far greater degree of control. I ended up returning all of my C by GE stuff and going with more Hue lights and a TP Link Kasa dimmer and smart plugs.

    I was previously a user of the Philips Hue smart lights. They were amazing, but the cost per bulb was through the roof and I was looking for a cheaper option. To start with the good, the color is very accurate. I was on the Hue first-gen and these blow color accuracy out of the water. HOWEVER, once you sync your C by GE account into Google Home you lose your color wheel and have 42 presets. This sounds like quite a few colors, but previously with the color wheel before the integration and compared to my hue, you lose the ability to fine-tune colors to your exact taste. Second issue is connectivity. I have three in my living room and every night when I tell my Google Homes or go through the app to change colors, it's rolling the dice on which bulbs will actually change. Most of the time, 2/3 of my lights will change color but one will remain on the previous. Sometimes only one light changes, and if I'm extremely lucky all three will change color. Takes a bit of the intuition out of a smart home as I then have to repeat the command multiple times or spam the color button in the app to change my living room. Overall, I'm still giving 4 stars because these are the cheapest bulbs I've found on the market and the issues I'd describe above I consider minor annoyances for the price. I wouldn't recommend them to my Grandmother, but for most people looking to dip their toes into a smart home, this is a fantastic start that won't break the bank.

    I've got a mixed smart home, some Philips Hue, some GE, and a few off brands from Amazon. The Philips hue has the most accurate color and features, but they are so dang expensive. These GE bulbs are wonderful because they don't require a bridge and set up in the Google Home app if you use it, otherwise you can set them up in the C Life app by GE. The color accuracy is good, not great. The Red is spot on, but Blue is very light, and the purple looks like the blue on my other bulbs. If you're not looking to spend a ton on the Hue bulbs, these are by far the best option, even over the cheaper Amazon bulbs.

    The lights work well for the most part, sometimes when you try to connect through your phone you have to restart the app or turn off and on the light. It gives you a lot of different colors to choose from, also lets you set when your lights come on and off (I use it as my alarm in the mornings). I couldn't get it to connect with my smart speaker which was a bummer.

    I purchased the C by GE - A19 Bluetooth Smart LED Light Bulb (2-Pack) - Multicolor because I wanted different color options. I love these bulbs. I can opt for white light or change it to any color I want, all with a voice command to my Google Assistant speaker...ie "Hey Google...Turn the living room light to purple". I can even dim or brighten the light by voice command from any brightness from 10% to 100%. It is VERY bright at 100%...I usually set it around 50%. I love these bulbs. They were easy to install. My Google Home App on my cellphone recognized the bulb immediately. I have 2 Google Minis and 1 Google Home Hub throughout my home, so no matter what room I am in, the Google speakers will hear my voice commands. I love the Google line of products and the C by GE products synch flawlessly. I did not need to use the C by GE App. I am very pleased with my purchase.

    This smart lightbulb is awesome. Changes colors and is really bright. Can dim to less bright colors. I really light that you can use the app to control when to turn it on and when to turn it off. Easy to install.

    The colors that these lights can put out is beautiful. They are very bright and are able to light up a space well. I had no trouble pairing them with my Google Hime Mini. They functioned flawlessly with voice activation and through the Google Home app. You cannot connect to both the CE by GE phone app and a Google Home device at the same time, unless you have purchased a CE by GE bridge device. Also, connecting to the phone app is difficult, and often takes several attempts. (CE by GE customer support is pretty good at solving connection issues) There are issues with getting kicked out of your account on the app, and you can't use the bulbs until logging back in. Conclusion: if you ONLY want to use these bulbs through Google Home devices, they work wonderfully. Otherwise, you'll either have to get a bridge & deal with a faulty app, or try different lights.

We are sorry to hear that you had a difficult time setting up your new smart lights in the C by GE app. If your bulbs show "not connected" in the C by GE app, you can typically refresh the page in the app (Drag the screen down.) to resolve the issue. As for connecting your bulbs to both apps at the same time, you are correct. Since our bulbs are "Made for Google" bulbs, they have the added ability to connect directly to any Google Home device via Bluetooth. Like other Bluetooth devices, our bulbs can only be paired with and connected to one other device or app at a time. When used with one of our bridge devices, they can however connect through the C by GE app to Google Home via Wifi. You can use any one of our Smart Switches, our Smart Plug, or our C-Reach Smart Bridge device to do this. p#

    I'm a bit ticked of as I spent all this time and money during this global health crisis to get these and they aren't Google assistant ready without a hub. They need Google home or nest or maybe just their own switch, which would be acting as a hub even though it's advertised that you don't need one, you do. but best buy makes all that so confusing. I may stop shopping here as when I went to pick it up even though they were supposed to keep their distance and put my stuff in the truck, the woman handing it to me had me roll down the window so she could hang into my cat then got mad at me and thru my lights on the seat when I said "why are you doing that right now? youre freaking me out. " I live with a 75 year old man (my father) who does not want to get sick and neither do I. There is a reason you started curbside pickup during this. I'd really appreciate a call back or follow up from a district manager (orange, Ct). Just really unsanitary and unprofessional. And it's not the first issue I've had with this store. If you live in CT go to north haven, I will be from now on. And as far as these lights go they're really cool as far as functionality and range of colors and control through the app, just wish they had Google assistant through the phone alone. Now I've gotta buy a home mini....

    Extremely easy to set up with Google Home

    Unlike other smart light options such as the Phillips Hue, the C by GE bulbs do not require a hub or additional hardware when being used with Google Home. The existing Google Home device acts as the hub to control them. The bulbs themselves are great. They were super easy to set up, they've given me zero problems. They offer a huge range of color. They're a bit pricier than some smart bulbs on the market. Though I have no personal experience with cheaper brands, I have read many horror stories about the bargain smart bulbs.

    Works great with Google hub and Google mini. With my experience, one caveat with pairing GE smart plugs and bulbs is that they lose their connection with Google hub and/or Google mini at least once a month and you have to reprogram them.

    I've been wanting to to upgrade my smart lighting to the next level for awhile (coming from app controlled to full voice integration) and I didn't want to spend alot of money on just one bulb for almost $50 a bulb or need additional things outside of my nest mini (like the Hue bridge for Phillips Hue) ,so this was the best of both worlds. I did have a bit of trouble getting them to connect to my Google Home, but once I did, they were amazing! Great color and brightness compared to my old lights and they didn't break the bank either. I'd highly recommend them for anyone looking to setup smart lighting without spending a small fortune to do so.

    It's pretty rare to find multicolor smart lights that do the job but these work great! They connect via bluetooth so you'll want to have a Google Mini or a compatible bridge for them to connect to your home network. Easy to set up and the colors are simple and easy to manage. Works with Google too so I can ask it to turn off the lights, change the color...etc.

    I'm going to start out by saying these bulbs are bright and amazingly colorful, and that's about where the good parts end. First off, out of the box they would not connect to the C by GE app or my Google Home Mini. I had to google the complex reset process of turning them off and on for over a minute each to reset them to factory settings. After this I had to reset my google home mini to factory settings too in order to find the bulbs. They worked great after this. The next day I come home from work and none of the bulbs will work. I had to factory reset every single bulb and my google home mini yet again because they refused to connect to either app or assistant yet again. The same thing happened three days in a row. I have sin r returned them and will be buying Philip's Hue. I looked up many reviews for C by GE and found a lot of people have the same issues as me. These bulbs are great if you have someone to pay part-time to reset the entire room or house worth of bulbs each time they disconnect from the smart home. I recommend Philip's Hue or LIFX to anyone who wants smart bulbs, stay away from GE until they come out with another generation that does not have connection issues like these do. Also, I made sure that my network routers were online and my mesh network was covering each room these were in, so I ruled out the router as the issue, as well I swapped google home mini for Alexa one day and the same issues persisted. These bulbs are horrible.
