I had been looking for a color laser printer and naturally started looking at HP printers, as I have always bought HP first. A family member bought an earlier version of this printer and absolutely loved it. I read reviews and compared the technical specs between this printer and the HP I was looking at. This one beat the HP on everything, but mostly on price! About $250 less than the HP and it had better features. Love this printer!

What can I say? It does everything... one-pass duplex scanning, duplex printing, excellent print quality, printing starts in 1 second. I just can't say enough good things about it. Good construction, easy, intuitive use, works seamlessly with all computers (on Windows 10 or Mac) and the iPhone. I am really impressed with this Canon printer (MF733Cdw) and highly recommend it

Needing to replace our dying color laser MFP (another brand), I started looked at getting the same one again, or this one. The additional features that this one has made it the best choice, even though it cost a little more (and getting a good deal on it helped). It is really fast on printing the first page from stand-by (about 8-9 seconds from clicking Print, even in color). Having the built-in duplex printing is great as we print 2-sided fairly often. Also, the fold-out front multi-purpose tray makes it very easy to temporarily change to a small stack of legal, labels or card stock (previous printer, you had to pull out the paper tray to put it in the slot but then, you could only run one page at a time, unless you loaded it into the main tray). One thing to note, if you do print on card stock, you will want to set the paper type to Heavy, which actually slows the paper running through the printer. Otherwise, it will go too fast and the toner will not cure completely, and it can repeat the pattern down the page. We haven't printed labels yet to see if type needs to be changed from plain with those. It is also fairly quiet during warm-up and printing (especially compared to our previous one).
The ADF scanning works great, but the scanning software it came with is about the only thing I have an issue with. It's not horrible, but is missing some key functional abilities, such as being able to scan additional pages to a document (like when scanning the backs of 2-sided pages, which luckily, I do have other PDF creation programs to handle that when necessary), or to be able to easily change some of the options on the fly between scanned documents.
It's definitely not a small printer and may not be the right fit for all home-office/personal use, but all in all, this has been a great upgrade for us so far.

I have already had some issues with my printer. The buttons below the touch screen are not very responsive. I had to figure out a trick to get them to work, you have to touch well above the button for it to work.
Yesterday, I tried to scan a document to send back to my employer and if you scan it as black and white, the scan will be mostly unreadable. It can not reliably see text, lines or even penned lines that I wrote myself. If I use it in color mode, the scanner will pick up mostly everything but it spits out a .jpg which is inconvenient and I have to print through windows to convert to a pdf. It’s a pain.
The print quality seems good, I don’t have any issue there. I don’t have anything to compare it to however.

Overall, printer works great. The print quality is excellent and the starter cartridges should last a while if you use it for normal print jobs such as emails or other documents. I didn't give it 5 stars as I had some difficulty on the initial setup on my network. Once as the drivers were installed, the printer worked right away. Once it was setup on my network, it was easy to print from my smartphone.

Overall a very good product. Wireless setup was not as simple and obvious as other products I have used. Had to look through the Quick Setup to get info needed, can easily be made simpler to set up.
Once up and running the physical product is easy to use and works well. Software could use some improvement in interface and ease of use.

The Canon replaces a 7 year old all on one. It’s faster, quieter, and produces great color and b&w. I called Canon to get help with setting defaults. They were very helpful and courteous. Changes were made quickly and easily. I have no complaints about the machine or company up to this point! A great price for a great all in one!

Once you get over the size of this printer (its big and heavy), you will see a top of the line multi-function printer, scanner and fax. The printer is fast! The colors are good for presentations and images are good but definitely not photo quality. Toners are pricey, but it is on par with other printers in this class.

I bought this printer mostly because of the sale price, but I haven't been disappointed in its performance. It churns out the pages very quickly and the print quality is great. It was quite easy to set up and it can connect by means of a wired or wireless connection. We had two other printers in the house and they're both gone now that we have this one.

After doing extensive research and watching for special deals, we purchased the Canon M733cdw from Bestbuy online. This is a big printer but it's very easy to setup and configure on your home network. Color quality is excellent, copying is easy, but haven't tried scanning anything yet. From what we can tell so far this is going to be a great purchase, and we would strongly recommend.

Great Multi-function Color Laser Printer

I received the full featured multi-function color laser printer at a great Black Friday sale price. Printer includes both duplex and wireless capability which is lacking in many other similar priced models. Print quality is great but replacement Canon toner cartridges are expensive. I will consider third-party toner cartridges (for a lot less money) when I need replacements.

My Dell color laser printer was giving me networking issues, so it was time to look for a new printer. Dell is pretty much out of the printer market, so the only real contenders in my mind were HP and Canon for a good color laser. Reviews on both of these are spotty, some good, some not so good. It finally came down for me that the Canon had slightly better reviews and fewer networking issues. I can say I am glad I went with the Canon as it has exceeded my expectations. Warm up time is a few seconds, it is incredibly fast, and the color output is excellent. There were some complaints about the lower scanner resolution, but for what I am doing in terms of scanning there is no issue. Every single device in my home recognized it and started printing immediately; PC, iMac, iPad, Android phones and pad, all print seamlessly to it. That alone was worth the cost of the printer. I also got it on sale, which was at the same price as Amazon so picking it up at Best Buy saved me a couple days of waiting.

I bought this Canon to replace a comparable10yr old Brother. I can only hope the Canon is as good. The features are excellent, full duplex printing, copying and scanning. The best surprise is the quality of images. They're no challenge to a good ink-jet but are far better than I've ever seen from a color laser. The user interface is pretty easy to navigate. 1st page out only takes 15 - 20 seconds ( vs 60 - 90 seconds for the old one) and it's quieter than the old unit.
I've had a few failures to print but haven't found any cause yet. Other than that I'm completely pleased with this printer. We've had it for more than 6 months so I have a decent feel for it. I replaced the black starter toner. Really simple to do.
I really like this printer & would absolutely buy it again.

I've only had this printer for a few weeks. It was easy to set up and prints good. The only downside is that it is very heavy and takes up a lot of space. Otherwise, it is a great printer for the price.

I needed a good color laser for use in my classroom that wouldn't break the bank when the first set of cartridges run out. I searched all over and kept coming back to this one but couldn't talk myself into trying it at the normal price. Only a day or two later, it came up on one of Best Buy's daily specials and I jumped at it.
I couldn't be happier with my gamble. The print quality is very good (better than my last one with a brand named after a sibling) and the security settings are top notch. I was able to set it up so that I and another teacher can print, but my students can't so I don't have to worry about the toner being wasted on pictures or misprints!
The machine was easy to set up (but I do these kind of things a lot as our IT guy) and I was up and running in a few minutes. Since we had been using a Canon office copier for years, the interface and settings were pretty straightforward and I had IDs set and was ready to go.
The software is very simple to install and the onboard screen makes it easy to use at the machine as well. Just big enough to be useful, but not so big that it blocks the front of the machine.
I like the rack that holds the toner cartridges, making it easy to change them out. Paper handling is pretty good, I have run 64lb card stock through the multipurpose feeder without any problems. I expected a bit of curl, but it prints even heavy paper without much of a curl at all.
Definitely recommend to anyone that needs a fast, reliable color laser printer for a small office or classroom.

I am rating this laser printer from Canon with 5 stars--Excellent!
Very easy to set-up the Wireless feature. I'm using a Mac, so I did have to go to Canon's site to download the Canon MF Scan Utility. The printer is very fast as compared to my old HP Inkjet ENVY printer and also nicer and bigger!

Works great, set-up was easy! It was a little bigger than I expected. When measuring your space, the plug sticks out the back, so add another couple of inches for clearance.

A great printer especially at the sale price. More than needed for home use but so much more reliable and less expensive in the long run than those “give away” ink jets. (Obviously my opinion). Truly an office capable machine at a home use price. Now the grandkids can print all their favorite art work without the printer needing attention and several refills of those costly inkjet cartridges. Yes I know the laser refills are expensive but you can print a thousand pages and it doesn’t dry out if it sits idle to long like inlets do!
