I purchased this for my office to print out employee checks and it works 80% of the time. It doesn't take that much space and it's not fancy nor does it work off of wifi which is what I was looking for but many times, it auto-shuts off and then won't turn back on unless I unplug the power cord and plug it in at another outlet, then back in original place. No idea why it does that. But it's still a keeper, for now.

Why would Canon sell a printer that is missing a REQUIRED USB cable? It is impossible to setup or use this printer without this very particular cable.
On this six sided box it only says on two sides (neither front faces) in small text: USB cable not included. On top of that, nowhere in the the instructions, or on the box, are you even told what type of USB cable you need.
This product was purchased for an event, expected to be ready to go, and lacked a necessary part.

Tried saving some money and bought a compact printer which used the same cartridge as my old one. Should have just thrown the money in the trash along with this piece of junk. Ridiculous yellow error light popped up on day one (I thought it was just a fluke) but there is no easy fix and I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the driver 7 times since I bought it end of September. What a disgrace.

It's a very nice printer, but I gave it four stars since it doesn't offer as many choices as the printer I retired since it won't interact with my new computer. This model is lightweight, compact, prints well for my simple needs, and was a good value.

This printer was so easy to set up. That is one of the best things about this printer. It prints so smoothly and I have had no problems with it. Ink lasts a long time also. Love it.

Does what it needs to. No frills home printing printer that prints pretty good. The words come out sharp on the page even if the guy that typed ‘em isn’t too sharp, but that’s on me. Ink shouldn’t cost as much as it does, but what’re we going to do. Everybody’s gotta make a living some how I suppose. Some do it selling dark liquid in a very specific plastic container.

Great printer and super easy to set up. Although easy, it did take about a half hour but most of that was due to not having the cable to connect it to my computer. Thankfully we had a spare cable that worked.
Only two complaints, ran through my color ink that came with the printer pretty quickly even though most of my prints were black and white text. The other thing, no cable included in the box to connect it to your computer and do not recall seeing that in the description. Seems like a vital piece of equipment since it has to be connected to work.

works as promised, easy set up, good value for what I needed. Very happy with it. Couldn't believe all the notifications and keeping me up to date with progress and happiness with product.

The printer is good but the description did not mention it was wireless. I was specifically wanting a printer that was not wireless. The directions advised the purchase of a separate USB cable which I did bit having difficulty getting the laptop to recognize the printer. I’m glad I purchased the Geek Squad to help. Will be contacting them.

I haven't bought a printer in a very long time , because I hardly had to print anything. If i had to print anything, I just went to my local library(10 cents per copy was cheap) Now I have bought a new house and love to cook. I needed print out a lot of recipes. This printer is very fast in printing, but the setup was horrible. It is NOT plug and play, so I had to download drivers and the cannon quick menu since the CD that comes with the printer doesn't work because most new PCs dont have CD/DVD drives. But, once you get the printer setup and going it works great. It stays offline until you need to print and it automatically comes on to print, automatically shuts right back off. That is very convenient not having to deal with touching on/off button manually. Images and text are very crisp. The printer is not that big so it fits on my desk with my two 27" monitors and computer tower(I have a very wide desk!).

Love this printer. It is practically flawless. Good price and quality. It is the basic printer I like. It is in stock at store so you can purchase it and not have to wait for shipping. It is connected by usb.

Have only used it once since purchased and my son did set up and printed for me but it does seem fine. The price was relatively good. The Cannon printer that I had to replace jammed frequently and began to squiggle print. I finally gave up and purchased this printer. Afraid to give a five star review b/c of last experience. Hopefully this Cannon printer will last.

Just delivered, a bit of trepidation about 'installing' as previously had an ITDepartment for this.
Fairly intuitive, though not sure what to do with the CD disk~~
(Never required installation . . . ??)
Located the ink cartridge install sites, plugged the cord in, turned on the printer & MacBook Pro computer, and jacked in the DSL connection.
Installed paper, located test page to print ~~
Tapped 'Print' and up came the selection tab.
All this without benefit of an instruction book;
amazingly simple!
Since the sales info indicated lack of compatibility with any OS X
systems beyond 10.2 Sierra, I printed from my Mac with that system first.
HOWEVER, curious to find out whether it might also handle 10.15
Catalina, I jacked it into my newer Mac.
Printed equally as well from both Systems . . . Sierra & Catalina!
If you are not 'techy', I fully recommend this printer, with the caveat that is doesn't appear to have font size adjustment?
Apologies if it does . . . brand new to me today, and simply quite thrilled that any printer can be this intuitive and easy to connect~~!!

Just started to use it. Set up was easy enough. Best thing is it is compack and is simply a color printer. I already had a scanner so was NOT wanting all-in- one nor any fancy or complicated device.
