    I have found it's a good idea to have a backup battery when going out for a long day. One battery is ok for just photos. Switching between photos and videos puts a drain on the battery. Having a backup, I can stay on the action longer. Buying the same name brand means you'll get about the same run time. Good value when needed

    After reading reviews about generic brand batteries, I decided you get what you pay for. I would rather have the OEM battery and not risk having a problem when I am trying to capture a photo.

    It's a battery. Works just fine. Canon needs to figure out how to keep the cameras from over heating when recording. But the battery itself is fine. I just needed a back up.

    Mirrorless cameras are less clunky than DSLRs, but shorter battery running times are a disadvantage. But taking one or two charged spares along ameliorates that quite well.

    When I purchased my camera and asked for a spare battery. I was given a non-Canon battery which swelled during use. I spcial ordered the Canon battery and am much happier.

    The off-brand batteries are cheaper, but aren't nearly as durable. You're definitely better off spending the extra cash for the name brand
