This lens is great but do yourself a favor and buy it from a reputable place that knows how to ship and makes your purchase a priority from the time it leaves the wearhouse to the moment its in your hand, I purchased this from the bestbuy website only to be mishandled by the carieer and the required signature is a false statment, my lens was delivered by OnTrac and literally tossed on my porch.. Buy from a well reputable place

PRO:
- Good focal length for Macro, Portrait, etc.
- Lightweight
- Excellent image quality, sharp
- f/2.8 fast aperture, nice BOKEH blur
- SA control (varianble BOKEH blur)...don't have much experience with it though...
- IS image stabilized
- Macro 1.4:1 (40% larger than life size!!)
-Customizable ring on lens, like for ISO or aperture etc.
CON:
- appears not as sturdy as EF version which had some metal in body (but no problems so far)

Takes really good pictures. . Sometimes the auto focus is a little tricky but that’s probably just my lack of experience. Also, on the R7 resume is a little tight but overall it’s a really nice lens.

The lens is amazing. Great for macro and portraits. It caught so much detail in Macro. The lens is not too heavy and a good size. Wish you could lock the sa control ring so you don’t accidentally move the setting.

This lens is top-notch as far as I'm concerned.
I could have done without the SA Control feature, I don't find it useful. Wish I could defeat it, Maybe some tape.

One of my favorites lenses to showcase the super tiny details. It’s super sharp in both video and photos. The slider to change the blur style is crazy cool! Definitely recommend it. Oh also awesome for portrait shots

Very happy with this lens. Focus is very sharp, very shallow depth of field. Macro shots highlight the detail you can pick up with this lens. This lens is a must for detail shots.

Didn't really need this lens as I had the EF 100mm f2.8L Micro IS version. Gave my daughter the EF version for her 7D2 and hoped this would be an upgrade.
So far it is solid, focuses fairly quickly, and takes the same polarizing filter size as the EF version. It may be a little longer/bigger, but not significantly. Images seem sharp, does well in low light with the R5 with both lens IS and IBIS.

I have not used this lens much, but I was pleased when I did up to this point. I will have a better idea later when I use it for a project I have in mind.
