A worthy successor to the EF 70-200 f2.8 II I thought the fact the lens extends outwards would bother me but the thicker shape to the lens barrel helps with the grip and it becomes a non issue, it also packs nicely in the camera bag as well, even attached to the camera body which is a welcome change.

I decided to get this for my first lens on the R8. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it feels like cheating. If you wanna be about 15-20 feet from your subject to fit them in the frame at the closest. I should have gotten the 24-70 MM one first but im getting it now so. nice

I love this lens. It has treated me well for all of my sport action shots, as well as maternity photos, family photos, and everything in between definitely a must have.

Portable and lightweight, excellent quality and picture quality. The only disadvantage is that the stretchable design is difficult to keep clean

Great lens with lower aperture for portraits. Must lens for up close action shots or photos with more candid feel where you can be from a distance. Newer photographers note: RF stands for the RF mount that connects to the camera. This lens is much lighter than the EF version.

I use this mainly for dog photography and am not a professional photographer. The only downside I found was the weight.

I normally do not review my items on any site. I will make the exception for this lens. Overall, this is a great lens. The focusing is fast and accurate. Tracking with the R5 is great. I think the weight is on the light side for this type of lens. Attached are a few images taken at my local Zoo.
