Great product. Bought for my wife as a Chirstmas gift. She loved the upgrade and precision photographs it takes.

I am a Professional Photographer Full time over the last 18 years. Have used Canon since 1982. We own the 70-200 2.8 IS L MKII to compare this to. This lens was purchased to have a lighter-weight alternative, and boy does it deliver. Paired with an Eos R it is so light. The F4 is not a problem for low light as the IS is fantastic. When paired with our Eos R5 it is incredible how low one can get the shutter to be and still get sharp images. Highly recommend for travelers and hikers.

A perfect lens that will leave you amazed! This lens is a machine, the resolution, the sharpness, you name it, it has it all. Now, I know it's not a 2.8 with all the bells and whistles, but what I love is that it comes at an affordable price compare to its bigger brother f2.8. This lens can be used for landscape photography and wider shots, but you can also push its limits and get created with it respecting its capabilities. If you're looking for a lens with wide aperture and and awesome sharpness, look no further, this is the guy.

Absolutely the best! It is light and such an awesome lens to add to my Canon lense collection. Although this is my first RF lens! I love that I do not need to use the adapter anymore. The quality is superb. I mainly shoot portrait and even with the aperture of f/4 my pictures still came out really nice. You will not regret getting this one! Also, it’s an awesome street photography lens and action lens as well (tennis).

Bought this lens for my Canon R6. I am just a hobbyist photographer, and could not justify the f2.8. Also I mostly take photos while traveling and hiking, the f4 is smaller and lighter.
If you are a professional, particularly weddings, then you would choose the f2.8 - but if you are a pro you already know that.
If you are a hobbyist then it is not worth the extra $1100. The images are still sharp and the backgrounds are beautifully blurred. If you travel or hike you will appreciate the smaller size and lower weight without compromising your images.
I also used it for an indoor school event. With the stabilization of the RF lens and R6 I still got great images.
Overall very happy.

This is a workhorse lens, second only to the 24-105 walkabout lens. For a telephoto, it is light, and fits the bag well. Image quality is stellar. With Canon's R series mirrorless cameras, the need for a 2.8 is less than in the old days, and this lens fits the bill without being too bulky.
The grips are solid and the lens is well-made. Really no complaints.

Great lens, the only regret I have is that I found a 100-500mm lens that would have been a better value when coupled with my 24-105mm lens. Ignoring that, this is an awesome lens that takes great pictures with my R5. My only complaint is the instructions are lacking when it comes to explaining the switch positions on the lens.

May favorite lens for people photos. Color and sharpness are superb. Focus is fast and accurate. Compact design is convenient. It comes with a hood. That's another plus.

Compact great quality lens! Good price compared to the f2.8 version. With camera & lens stabilization, f4 is pretty doable and the lens is so much smaller than the EF mount version.

If you need a 70-200 RF lens, I can recommend this one. Yeah it is not a fast as the F2.8, but do you really need that if you are just doing this as a hobby? It is smaller and lighter than the F2.8 and pairs well with my 2.8 15-35. I don't even have to rebalance my gimbal when I switch between those 2 lenses.
