The gameplay is fairly simple at first but becomes increasingly difficult to the point where it’s nearly impossible on some levels. It feels more lacking than the new Mario VS Donkey Kong. It’s not bad but it’s not great. The graphics are fine though but the camera view is sometimes panned out too far, the main characters are a little hard to see in some instances. They’re visually a lot harder to see than Mario is. I bought the game as I had a gift certificate to use and it was expiring. For the price it’s not ridiculous but it could be cheaper as its a now 6 year old game.

At first, I was a bit skeptical to grab this gem because I honestly thought it looked kind of stupid. Boy, was I wrong. The fact that you can't jump only adds to the excellent puzzle like gameplay, and there's far more content here than I first thought.

Game was a lot of fun. If you enjoy calm, brain-teasing puzzle games with a hint of personality, Toad Slide is a worthwhile addition to your Switch library—just don’t expect a long or story-driven experience.

Captain Toad is a great game. I am 41 years old with two kids, and I rarely have time to play a game, let alone finish one. Yet, I played this one all the way through. It is fun for all ages. It starts fairly straightforward, but the difficulty increases, and by the end, you're challenged.
Overall, an excellent, relaxing yet challenging game to play after work.

I absolutely love this game. I originally got it when it released on the Wii U as a little boy, and now that I am quite grown up and in college with a Nintendo Switch, playing this game again really brought back a weird nostalgia and a sense of good times. It is a cute little puzzle platformer involving a Mario character that does not get the most attention, but has the most charming surprise appearances. If you are looking to experience the world of Mario from someone else's perspective, and enjoy puzzles, I highly recommend Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

I got this game for a family member for their birthday so this review comes through them.
They had a lot of fun playing the game and even played part in co-op as well. Highly recommends it to puzzle game lovers.

I'd originally played this on Wii U. The levels are fun to play through, and there is a great variety of stages to work through, so it was an easy enough decision to get this again. No one is forcing a person to re-buy a port so I don't really see why some people get so upset when they do so.
Perhaps a 3rd book would have been a welcome addition to add into this port but there is enough variety and number of stages that lack of new content shouldn't be much of a deal breaker, perhaps we can hold out hope that they will offer DLC in form of a 3rd book or make a sequel in future, for now we can enjoy the Mario Odyssey themed level additions. its about 40% less than the cost of most other titles on Switch. This game was never offered as a full priced title even back when it was on Wii U and for the cost of the game I'd say you get a decent amount of content included for what you are spending on the game.
I'd recommend playing this game either with a pro-controller or handheld, since controlling the camera with the second joy-con can be awkward given its placement, and the amount of camera adjusting you'll do in this game. Using the gyroscope sensor to manipulate the puzzle aspects of each level was an easy enough work around since we no longer have a touch pad in docked mode.

Very cute, family fun. It is very casual and allows 2player Co-op. You can have fun on this game with just about anyone! Somewhat short but has DLC. You will maybe spend 6-10Hours on this game.
