Tried a different slot and still no difference. Took the heatsink off and saw the total size on the label to be 500gb only. Bad QA on Corsairs part. Returned.

Seems more likely it was purchased, replaced with a model that is lower capacity, then returned and resold. Feel free to get with BB to resolve this problem.

The people at the store said they get these direct from manufacturer so corsair made a big screw up mine had a sata m.2 ssd connection. (type B key not type M)
