It really deserves less than a 1-star review. Issue after issue, support just wants to run you around in circles wasting precious time all over a $120 headset. I will never buy any corsair products ever again. Complete piece of trash that will randomly stop working mid-game. It's not rocket science to make a headset function properly.

Unfortunately, never really got to experience how these sounded, because they don't work. Half the time they won't charge properly. They also will not work out of the box because they require a driver update. Unfortunately, the instructions on where to acquire drivers send you to a website that is 404'd, and the corsair corp website doesn't have the supported driver downloads anymore. If you buy this, you will not be able to use it.

    Great gaming headset

I believe this headset is a great all around headset without breaking the bank too much. I'll separate this review by sections. First off, Sound quality: 5/5 These headphones sound awesome. They come with big speakers and can be too much bass for some but sounds also come through as sharp and clear. I personally liked it and I'm not a bass head. Good thing though with the corsair icue software, you can customized the sound equalizer settings to your liking. These do come with "Dolby atmos" support but it just sounded like regular virtual surround sound like many other headsets have these days. the stereo mode works great for smaller maps but I can see why some would use the dolby atmos for larger maps. Mic performance/Battery life: 4/5 The Mic performance is very natural sounding on these. My voice was not tinny or altered sounding. My friend on the other end said my voice came through really close to my natural voice. But also that means that my voice was not any sharper than if having a normal in person conversation. These are said to last around 20 hours of use depending on your use and volume. I got around that amount of time so this is fairly accurate. Many other headphones offer more battery life for equal performance/features. Software/features: 5/5 The icue software is a great tool to customize your headset to your liking for sound and RGB. There's good amount of settings for sound but limited RGB and only for the corsair logo on each side. Again as I mentioned, it does come with dolby atmos software which some may like. Comfort/Design I love that the stretch head band is separated from the band frame. This way, when sitting on your head, there is equal pressure throughout your whole head much like the Steelseries arctic 7 which I used for many years. No more headaches! The design looks and feels of high quality. and the button layout is simple and easy to get used to. One thing though is I wish the mic was able to move closer or away from your mouth like a retractable mic would've been awesome. Instead you're limited to just raising and lowering the mic.

I have tried everything ahort of installing a frwsh copy of windows. This headset has proven to be at best barely functional. During loading screens the voice cuts out, or sounds robotic. Random times my voice will go from normal to sounding like a 5 year old or i ingested a large amount of helium. This would be fine but the cutting in and out is a huge issue. Then with icue running there are times when i get stuttering in games because of it im running a r9 3900x and 3080ti with 64 gb ram and m.2. So id be shocked if it was hardware related.

      Hi,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Please verify the firmware for your HS80 and its dongle are up-to-date via our iCUE software. It would also be recommended to have the USB dongle connected to a direct USB port on your system where it has direct line of sight of the HS80.

The HS80 is Corsair’s newest RGB wireless headset on the market, and they does not disappoint. Weighing in at just under 13 ounces, the weight is comparable to a wired set I was previously using, made even more comfortable by the elastic suspension headband system that makes wearing for longer periods of time much more comfortable than other headsets where the top band rests on your head. The headband is adjustable on the inside by moving the Velcro attachments, though this means they’re not quickly adjustable like those with telescoping arms. The ear pads are cloth, meaning long play time won’t create a bunch of sweat. One downfall is they do tend to slightly shift your glasses when wearing them as they tend to push pretty firmly against your head. I had to shift my glasses a couple of times after putting them on each time to get them right. Sound is exactly what you would expect from Corsair – clear and excellent. Built-in surround sound means you’ll hear players sneaking up on you from the side or behind in FPS-style games. An easy-to-reach volume knob allows you to change the volume on the fly. Pushing in the knob toggles you through the 5 different sound profiles. You can also create your sound profile using the equalizer settings in the iCue software. The mic sits on the left side and can be muted by flipping the mic up. An LED on the mic tip indicates whether the mic is on or off. You can also control the feedback (how much you hear your own voice through the headphones when speaking) via the iCue software. The headset recharges through a USB-C connection, which is nice to see them choose to use versus MicroUSB. I got several hours of non-stop use out of the headset before needing to recharge, so an all-night gaming marathon should be no issue. Cons: The headset continues to use the largest in the industry USB dongle to connect the headphones wirelessly to the computer, sticking out a full 2 inches from the computer. While this isn’t a major issue for a desktop, when being used on a laptop it’s certainly annoying to have that sticking out so far. The dongle can be used to connect other Corsair wireless devices, minimizing the number dongles needed. Additionally, since the dongle remains connected your computer continues to try and run the sound through the headphones even when the headphones are turned off. If you want to run sound through external speakers when the headphones aren’t in use, you manually have to change the sound output device. Ideally, when the headphones are off, the computer should revert to the other default device (like when using Bluetooth headphones). The mic can only be used on the left side. If you prefer the mic on the right you’re out of luck. You’ll need to make sure you have the latest version of the iCue software to be able to control the headphones. Summary: In summary, these are great headphones, a good upgrade to Corsair’s previous offerings. Comfortable with great sound, these are a good addition to your gaming or even just day-to-day use.

While the HS80 is intended for gaming, I've been really happy with this headset for general use beyond gaming. First off, yes, the HS80 is an extremely capable gaming headset. I played around with it in Overwatch and was really impressed with the sound quality. Everything sounded crisp and clear without being boom in the low end, and people I talked to said the mic sounded good on their end. One of my favorite features is the fact that the mic becomes muted when you flip it up. Not all of the gaming headsets I've used do this, and I think it's an important feature. Comfort is very good. These are the kind of headphones that use an elastic strap for suspension on your head below the hard arch similar to the RIG headsets. What's different about these is the elastic is adjustable by means of hook and loop strips on the inside of the headset. The elastic band has a lot of give, so it's not likely you will need to make much of an adjustment, but it is available if need be. The earpads are a soft velour type fabric an are very cushy. My ears get a little hot with them on, but they breathe well enough that I don't sweat. I don't really notice the heat until I take them off and my ears feel warm in the cool room. The pads don't seem to be replacible, but I didn't try too hard for fear of breaking something. The software to run them is the same software you would use to manage your other Corsair peripherals. When I first loaded up the software I noticed there was an update for the headset and the dongle. Updating the headset requires plugging in the included USB cable and went smoothly. You can also change the RGB lighting, which is really just the logo on the sides and a cool looking light strip around the mic. If you're looking for something really flashy, these may be a little understated for you. You can also turn off the lights for better battery life. Speaking of connections, these can be connected via USB or with the included wireless DAC, which also lights up depending on connection status. The dongle allows for wireless HD Audio so you can get the most out of an HD streaming service or your collection of HD FLAC recordings. Music is where the HS80 really impressed me. Often gaming headsets are one-trick ponies, tuned to gameplay and movies. These, on the other hand, sound amazing with quality music. Separation and resolution are excellent, even at low volume. I've found myself using these over my Sony 1000xm4 headphones for music a lot. The iCue software includes a 10-band EQ for fine tuning, too. Bass is excellent and punchy without sounding mushy and highs are warm and clean. I'm finding them to be my go-to for not just gaming but everything else. Speaking of everything else, I work from home and have a lot of MS Teams meetings. These are also my go-to for conferencing. Once the software is installed they integrate perfectly into Windows. Flipping up the mic puts Teams into mute and the volume dial on the headset changes the volume on my laptop (the Windows volume indicator changes along) not just on the headset. Out of curiosity I also plugged the wireless dongle into my Sansung S7 tablet with a USB-C to USB adaptor and it worked seemlessly! Again, my HD music streams were in HD and everything just worked. This usage is off-label, so your result may be different, but I was kind of excited to be able to use them with my tablet, too. I cannot recommend the HS80s strongly enough. They're an amazing all-around headset that happen to be great for gaming, rather than other gaming headsets that don't do much else. Highly recommended!

I've got so many headsets for my PC but none are wireless. And since I'm a Corsair guy (my case, a lot of my peripherals are all Corsair) when I saw these, along with the chance to go wireless, I was all in. When I received this in the mail I was really impressed with the design and overall simplicity out of the box. The box and the way it was all presented seemed high quality. Hooking it all up was a cinch and took about 3 minutes or so. Basically you insert the USB wireless dongle, it recommends directly connecting it, which I did, and not connecting it to a hub. Immediately my PC recognized it and did some sort of driver installation or something (it happened pretty quick) and my sound muted to my external speakers and automatically switched over to my new headset. Then I plugged in the included cable to charge the headset and hooked it up to charge, which it did and you can read the instructions as to the light on it in regards to charging (flashing red is near critical mass if I recall, green is fully charged). After a little bit, maybe 20 minutes, it showed as fully charged. I disconnected the cord, long pressed the power and I was up and running with sound. But was my microphone working? One quick visit to Discord and I verified that it was. All in all the sound is really good, got some bass, very super clear and I had no trouble hearing anyone once I went into a game. On the flip side my friends said I sounded crystal clear so the mic on this must work well. Now I will say if you want to update the firmware you will need to install iCue. This also helps you control the RGB on the headset. Since I have a lot of Corsair fans I already had this installed. The headset did NOT show up in iCue until I updated my iCue software so just be aware. Once I did that it showed up and said my headset needed its firmware update, so I went ahead and did that as well. Once that was all done I could control the lighting. It did default to Windows Dolby Atmos by the way without me downloading anything. However, for some reason turning that off in Windows 10 still did not allow me to use the equalizer in the iCue software. I imagine that'll require an update to fix that bug. I'm extremely happy with this headset. Even sitting at the PC it's incredibly freeing to have wireless headphones. And I'm not sure how long the battery truly lasts but I played last night for about 6 hours without any problems. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! SUPER COMFORTABLE!!
