A really good headset, a bit lacking on the bass when using consoles but the custom EQ’s on PC make it way better. The mic is really clear and the 3D audio is spot on. Also really comfortable.

Review for: CORSAIR HS80 RGB WIRELESS Gaming Headset This headset is extremely comfortable. It’s lightweight and the construction design, which uses a soft elastic strap, creates a cushion between your head and the headband, it doesn’t feel heavy or constraining. The ear cups are covered in a soft fabric which is so much nicer than plastic. The audio quality is excellent and very responsive. Surround sound adds a nice touch to the gaming experience, as well. I am using the headset with a PS5, so I attached the included wireless dongle. Setup was extremely straightforward, although I found a minor inconvenience that may just be on the PlayStation side: it will always try to connect to the headset, even if it is off. As far as it is aware, if the dongle is in, that is what you want. You can easily change it in the PlayStation sound settings either each time you don’t want to use headphones, or you can uncheck the option in settings (per user) for it to automatically connect to different sources, then manually select it after you’ve actually turned on your headphones. The only reason I mention this is because it oddly feels like a step back from wired headphones since those would adapt when plugging into the controller which is more likely to be close to you than the console where the wireless dongle plugs in. Once you get past that, the wireless experience is comfier and more freeing.

I’ve just recently gotten more into PC gaming and I have not been able to find a headset I’m really happy with until I tried this one. They’ve all been too tight, too hot, uncomfortable to wear after awhile, or had terrible sound quality…. Until I tried this one out!! I was hooked on this one instantly and already delegated my old headsets to the kids!!! First and most important to me is the comfort and sound quality. 5 stars all day!!! Insanely comfortable and the sound quality upgrade was noticeably louder and more clear. One of my favorite features is the LED indicator at the end of the mic, it’s such a simple yet effective way to check the status of the microphone. I can’t imagine not having it on all my headsets now. This really is the perfect headset.

The Corsair HS80s are great gaming headphones. The sound is fantastic. The clarity is excellent with good bass, and the ear pads are about the most comfortable I've ever tried. My gaming friends tell me the mic sounds crystal clear. Speaking of the mic, it's super easy to mute it. No buttons to press, just rotate the boom up and away to mute. Connecting the headphones to my PS5 couldn't have been easier. Just plug in using the cable initially. Once detected, the headphones are ready to go wirelessly. The build quality seems really good with premium feeling materials and finishes. One trend I don't like with electronics is having buttons to increase or decrease volume. Which is just another reason why I love the The Corsair HS80s. Volume is adjusted by an easy to reach, and well-placed dial on the left side. Overall, the Corsair HS80 Wireless Headphones are the best I've used to date. Great sound, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. There are certainly more expensive gaming headphones than these, but why would you need to spend more?

Okay I am going to give an honest review here. I bought these about a year ago and they have been amazing. The way you can tune them to whatever youre playing / doing is awesome. I have never once had a complaint about my microphone, there is a review on here about the microphone being too low? Buddy you messed something up because I have NEVER had any complaint about my microphone. The ONLY COMPLAINT about these headphones is the battery life SUCKS after about a year of use. Overall construction of the headset is great the foam is comfy on the ears. Would have given 5 stars but the battery life is so bad I just couldnt. Would still highly recommend

I absolutely love these new wireless headphones by Corsair. They cover your so well that they block out most ambient noise. They look great and match the PS5 perfectly, and theyre also very comfortable for long periods of use. The sound is great when gaming for me on my PS5, I love the built in mic with its flip up and down function and it can be flexed closer to your mouth. I only wish the included usb dongle was half as long as it sticks out to much from the front usb, that I install it in the rear so my audio cabinet door doesnt smack into it when closed. Im happy I selected these as theyre now my go to gaming headphones for PS5. These replace my 3 year old Corsair wireless headphones, which were good but not as comfortable as these are. I even purchased a headphone mount for the PS5 to hang these on when not in use. These have very rich bass and midrange, I would be interested in trying a wireless earbud for the PS5 by Corsair. Im sure they would knock it out of the park like they did with these headphones.

Solid and good sound quality especially when using Dolby Atmos on my PC. It has good range and consistency of audio. Good battery life, about 16 hours. Rotating, well cushioned and very comfortable earcups provide sound isolation that is adequate for my use. A soft and flexible suspension strap takes pressure off the top of the head, this is a big plus for extended use. Logical and easy to use controls are a pleasure to work with. It has a great, easy to activate boom microphone with LED indicator. Activate it by lowering or de-activate it by raising the boom. Using the iCUE app you can control virtually all of the functions of the headset. The ability to use the long rugged, flexible braided USB cable or the included wireless adapter make it adaptable for Mac or PC. It is a well designed, constructed and durable headset. The RGB function adds a nice visual touch that is highly customizable.

Used this for a little over a week with my PS5. Comfortable fit on my head. Ear muffs also comfortable with not too much squeeze or anything (and I wear glasses sometimes so glad they didn't squeeze my temples into my head). DIdn't think I'd like the gray color at first, since I usually have had black headsets, but the gray has grown on me. Easy to connect with the USB dongle to my PS5 and setup was straight forward. Has been reliable with no drops. I meant to drain the battery to empty to get a sense of charge, but have not gotten there yet. So far have played/listened ~5 hours I'd estimate. Audio quality has been excellent as well. Gaming, music, and streaming a few shows has had good rich sound. Little better than my prior headset. Microphone quality has been flawless as well, as my buddies have had no issue hearing me and said I was very clear with no drops (I asked). These will definitely be replacing my prior headset for some time. Look like they will be durable to last. Recommended!

Headset is perfect the strap keeps my head comfy and less irritated. I've had them for almost 3 years and the battery life is still up there and the sound quality is still awesome! Only thing i have done is i upgraded the muffs to some cooling ones but thats just because of who i am as a person lol

Great Sounding Headset for the PC or PS5

Many different people game online for different reasons. I find games that I like to enjoy that are solo. But I also like to play strategy games with friends. Other times I just use gaming as a social interaction with the guys. Most of this is done on the PS5, but I also game on the computer as well. All of these styles I mention have different requirements from my headset. The Corsair-HS80 RGB Wireless does a good job accommodating all these. Out of the box, the headset has everything you need to get moving. It has the headset, the USB charging cable, and the USB wireless dongle attachment. There is an associate instruction booklet but connecting is all intuitive. Just plug the dongle into the system, turn on the headset, and you and connected lightning quick. In fact, it connects faster than any other headset I have had. You may have to adjust the Corsair head strap to get the headset to fit just right. I have mixed feelings on this adjustment method. It just feels like more work than is necessary. If you have more than one person who will use the headset, adjusting this strap every time for every person will likely get old fast. Performance wise, the headset sounds incredible. Playing Gran Turismo 7, you really get emersed in the sound of the engines. It really sounds like you are in the car. With the Dolby Atmos, you are impressed with the sound quality. In games with groups like Rocket League, Fortnite, and Call of Duty, the sound is clear even when chatting with teammates. Your voice comes over clear, and you hear your teammates perfectly. When you want to mute yourself, all you must do is flip the boom mic up and you are muted. Pull it back down and you are unmuted. My two biggest complaints have to do with the PS5 gaming aspect of the headset. I like to hear myself through the headset when I speak. I do not know why, but it something I am used to. It throws me off a bit to not hear it. This headset does not allow you to hear yourself when you talk on the PS5. This is a little different on PC. When using it on the PC, you have a little more control over the setting, and you can change this option. Unfortunately, when you go back to the PS5, the old settings remain. The other thing I will you could change on the PS5 would be the LED settings. This can be a little bright sometimes and could be distracting to some. Again though, on the PC these settings can be managed much better. In the end, I gave it 4 stars. If I had to go solely by sound quality, I would give this headset a high 5 star rating. It is just the lack of mic feedback on the PS5, the lack of control on the LED for PS5, and just the overall head strap adjustment method that lowered it to 4 stars. Over time, the adjustment just made the headset feel a bit uncomfortable if I had it on too long at one time. In any case, I still recommend this headset to people needing a good PS5 or PC gaming headset. Some of the complaints I had may not bother people. And I do not think anyone will be disappointed in the sound coming from the Corsair-HS80 RGB Wireless Headset.

These headphones are really nice. They're comfortable, even during long gaming sessions, they look great, and more importantly they sound great! The spatial sound is on point and games sound much more immersive to me. The headphones are made with high quality material and are extremely light. The head strap is adjustable with Velcro secured straps tucked neatly into the top. Flipping the mic up automatically mutes it and there is a volume knob on the back that also changes the EQ preset when pushed in. Corsair really put a lot of thought into comfort and performance when they designed these. I will recommend them to anyone that listens.

The CORSAIR HS80 RGB WIRELESS Premium Gaming Headset is a high quality headset that can be used with a PC, MAC, PS5 and PS4. It is easy to setup on a PC (just insert the dongle in the usb port) and is very comfortable even after hours of use. I used it on a PC laptop and a PS4. Sound quality in games was excellent. The microphone impressive and extremely easy to use. Pushing the microphone down turned on the microphone and pushing it up turned it off. Additional controls and customization are available on the headset and the Icue software. If you are looking for a very comfortable easy to use gaming headset, I would highly recommend.

Lots of Personalization For PC Gaming

The CORSAIR HS80 RGB Wireless Gaming Headset is a solid gaming headset for those looking for a nice headset. I found this system best suited for gaming computers, and I based my rating based on use with a gaming PC/Mac system. If I was rating this for the PS5/PS4, I probably would have lowered it to 4 stars. Straight out of the box, set up is easy. You can choose to use this as a wired setup or go wireless with the use of the included dongle. I had no trouble with any of the systems (PC/Mac/PS5/PS4) connecting to the headset. So, you should be running in less than a minute. The mic boom can be manipulated to be moved closer to your mouth if you like. There is an adjustable strap which can be adjusted to change the over the head feel so you can get just the right feel. The downside is that these are worn over-the-ear. The cans are sized but if you have big ears, they may get cramped a bit. Also, if you wear glasses, over time, these can press in and become uncomfortable. The memory foam helps but doesn’t fix all of it, and they can become hot after a couple hours of gaming. The headset is packed with many features. The latest iCUE software works well with this headset. You can change the LED colors to match you liking. You also can use one of 5 EQ presets including Pure Direct, Movie Theater, FPS Competition, Clear Chat, and Bass Boost. You can set these presets with the software or cycle through them on the fly by pressing a switch on the headset. If you don’t like any of the 5 presets, you can make your own to suite your needs. You also have the choice whether to hear yourself speak during chat. Sound quality with the headset is very good. It helps that you can cycle the EQ settings depending what application you are using them with. For example, when watching a movie, the sound was great with the Movie Theater setting was amazing. But switching to video games, FPS was a much better choice. Voice quality in the chat is good to. Your voice will be crisp and clear to those hearing you. This all works great if you are on a gaming computer. However, all of these features aren’t available when you go to the gaming platforms. Using this with a PS5/PS4, you lose the ability to change your EQ. You just get the Pure Direct setting which is essentially no gain on any channel. You also lose the choice of LED color lighting. You also lose the choice of being able to hear yourself speak during chat. I also had to adjust the gain on the headset several times to find the right balance. I was coming in low to people trying to hear me. The headset still works, but too many features are lost to give it 5 stars in this application. In conclusion, I really like the CORSAIR HS80 RGB Gaming Headset. It should be a good option for those needing a high-end gaming headset. I recommend it to people looking for a headset, but I would remind people to be aware of the features and how they are different between the PS5 and a gaming PC.

      Hi,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Please make sure your headset's firmware is up-to-date via our iCUE software. It would also be recommended to have the USB dongle inserted into a direct USB port on your system where it has direct line of sight of the headset.

    Great Wireless Headset

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Mic quality is great. It's a little low on OBS for some reason but it sounds fine on Discord. The mic being able to bend in the photo is misleading if you have not seen any reviews on this headset. The mic is flimsy and goes back to its original position no matter how much you try to reposition it. It sounds fine regardless though. Sidetone is available as well if you want that feature. There's also a feature for voice prompts which let you know when your mic is muted and sidetone is off; just wish there was an option to lower the volume for the voice prompts. Sound quality is okay. Not the best I've heard but it's good enough for a wireless headset. EQ presets suck so you'll need to make your own EQ settings. Dolby Atmos is also available if you're interested in that. Battery life is meh. 20hours is what Corsair promotes and that you can get more than 20hours if you turn off RGB but I haven't been able to get at least 20hours even with RGB off. This is the main reason why I'm giving it 4/5 stars. Takes 2-4 hours to charge for me from low battery to full. Connection is hit or miss for people. I've read reviews where some people can't even walk to another room. I'm able to walk downstairs and it cuts off for half a second when reaching the bottom of my stairs and then connection comes back. My room is above my kitchen and living room, so maybe that helps the connection? Build quality is great. Doesn't feel cheap. No creaking. People have said this headset is uncomfortable for people with big heads so keep that in mind if you have a bigger head. These also feel comfortable with glasses on. Also, this isn't bashing on the headset and not a part of the review because it isn't Corsair's fault at all but I don't recommend ordering this online from BestBuy. They use OnTrac and it was delayed for about a week. Just buy it in person.

Corsair has taken over the bulk of my accessories over the past few years, this new headset is no exception. Sound is fantastic, the earpieces don't irritate my ears, the RGB syncs with my RAM, keyboard and water cooler, and everyone saves that I sound like i'm in the room with them on the other end from my mic. I did have to install the latest iCue software from Corsair otherwise it wasn't recognized, I guess that's to be expected for a new product though and definitely not a draw-back! Get a pair, your ears will thank you!

    Good sound mediocre mic

Overall this is a good headset if you only interested in overall sound and comfort. Setup was super easy, just plug it in and install icue for the features and you are good to go. Even better if you want to use ATMOS just install the Dolby app for windows 10 and it's recognized as soon as you open the app no fus no hassle. I appreciate when stuff is easy to set up and does not require a bunch of extra steps. Sound quality was surprisingly good, and the headset was comfortable for long usage sessions however it can get a bit warm over extended time periods. So if that's what your looking for in a headset then this is a good choice. Now for the not so great. The microphone is mediocre mostly because of volume. If you have a larger head the mic boom just does not reach far enough in front of your face to have good volume for normal use. It works fine if you can get the mic right in front of your mouth but otherwise it tends to be fairly quiet. The quality is good when people can actually hear you though so I guess it has that much going for it. The other issue I had with this headset which is why it gets a 3 star rating is the sound will periodically cut out. Not for long periods or anything just a quick drop of sound once or twice every so often which can be real distracting. Now if your using the headset in wired usb mode this is not an issue so this is something to do with the wireless dongle but the dongle was less than 3 feet from the headset and was still getting minor dropouts once or twice ever 10 or 20 minutes. So if that does not bother you or you use it wired then by all means go for it.
