Returned an 850w EVGA Supernova G5 after three days because of loud coil whine whenever loading anything on my PC. That was replacing a past 650w corsair that went bad with a bad bearing after 8 months. I was a bit hesitant to go with corsair again but i bit the bullet and went with the fully modular unit instead of the cheaper model and i am 100% happy i did. Doesn't make any audible noise at all and can power anything thrown at it including a 2080 super with VR.

I bought this for a PC build I was building for a client, I bought two and had to return one. Corsair has always been my go-to. The products are reliable and long-lasting. I used them for my builds most of the time. 850 gold is a high-performance power supply I use for my medium builds for gamers and producers, it has a Zero RPM fan mode that is perfect for studio recording in productions.

Blew a Thermaltake Powersupply and the closest Best Buy had one of these in stock. While power supply prices are a bit crazy mid-pandemic, I was happy to find this high quality unit at MSRP value and close by. It was an easy swap, it had nicer braided cables than the Thermaltake it replaced, and runs nice and quiet when there's low power demand. Hopefully this one doesn't die three months in like the Thermaltake one did!

For the price, it was this or a white 750W
Seriously the extra power headroom for the price difference from 750W was worth it.
Cables came in a really nice bag, and they were stiff. I have a ton of extra cables though, so I don’t think I’ll ever run out of power cables for things like RGB or GPUs.
There’s not much to say other than I spent extra, for never needing a larger PSU ever again, but it was $10 difference from the 750W, which is recommended for an RTX 3080.
The PSU smelled like it was new, but kind of funky. Not sure if that’s normal but it didn’t smell like anything was necessarily burnt, it was like a metallic-plastic scent, just smelled new. I’ve had that scent with laptops and things before so I’m not concerned. It’s not had any issues so far either.
Many people think you don’t need so many watts of power, and yes you don’t but in terms of efficiency, the PSU tends to be more efficient when below its maximum, and who knows how much power the RTX 4000 series will use, since 3000 had a ridiculous jump in power usage.
Overall, works fantastic! found it a great price in comparison, some 650W power supplies are more expensive than this. I am a fan of Corsair products, never had any issues with the cables plugging in, only thing would be the smell, but I’ve never opened up a new Power Supply before so I wouldn’t know if that’s strange.

Excellent PSU, can handle the power needed for the new 3000 series cards, is modular, and very quiet.
Cons: Wish it came with dedicated 8 pin connectors (these have the 6+2 and another 6+2 pigtail - with the new 3000 cards my understanding is that you can only use one plug per wire, and there are 2 8 pin connectors, so those pigtails just hang there)

So I had an EVGA GA model 850W to pair up with my 3080 FE. However I started experiencing phantom shutdowns. Start googling it and sure enough it’s a know issue among many. So I looked up the PSU tier list from Tom’s Hardware and saw this was on the list and in stock at my local Best Buy. Corsair makes great products and same with their power supply’s. I now never experience those random/phantom shutdowns. So happy w this product! Next is modded cables for my psu! Also under light load the fan does not come on ensuring a quiet performance! This handles my 3080FE and my Ryzen 9 3900x

Modular experience is perfect
Comes with a carrier for the extra cables. no need to mess around with where you will keep the extra.
The PC I used this PSU on is a bit overkill my watt needs (387), the fan only kicks on during high computer load and start up. Just as advertised

Great power supply. I matched it with my new 3080, works great and is extremely quiet even while under load. The cables come in a nice bag and are clearly labeled. This fully modular power supply really helps keep a build clean looking and cuts down on the amount of cable management.

Unit works as described. I use it heavily under graphically intense gaming for long periods of time and never noticed any fan noise. Provides plenty of power for my system. The modular design is fantastic. Allowing me to use only the wires required to power my computer with plenty of expansion for future additions.

Great looking, quiet, modular, compact and comes with a TON of cables. This may be my favorite purchase concerning my PC build. I think the 850 watt is the sweet spot for modern gaming.
This also has a great warranty but I doubt you will ever need it.

Great PSU, plenty of power for a Zen3 / RTX 3080 build. Many extra cables, quite and cool under load, would recommend to anyone looking for a new PSU. You likely don't need a 1000w plus model, don't overspend on a PSU, it's generally not needed.

This is an excellent choice for a high-capacity, high-wattage, uber efficient power supply. It seems to be well-built, it's heavy like a tank. Under low load, it's completely silent because the fan turns itself off. And at higher loads, it's still barely audible. All the cables seemed adequate in terms of gauge, but I was a little bummed out that they weren't any fancier than my 'lesser' Corsair PSU cables--though, for a (high) price you can upgrade the cables to much nicer ones. Overall, I was really happy with the PSU.
My only suggestion is to make sure you have enough length in your case for the PSU and excess cables. This PSU is very long, 160mm, so be aware that it might be too big for some cases. If you're looking for a shorter PSU with similar build attributes, I suggest looking at the Seagate GX-F series.

I had been using a gold rated 850w PSU from EVGA, but my new graphics card caused serious coil whine a headache causing high pitched shrieking noise. I swapped out that power supply for this one and the problem went away immediately. Fantastic.
The only draw back to this PSU is that the cables have capacitors in the wire bundles which makes them less flexible right near the connectors. I had to change my cable routing in one spot because the cable couldn't achieve the bend my old cables did (maybe these could have too, but I didn't want to break anything.
I highly recommend this supply.
Critical tip: NEVER use modular cables from a different PSU when swapping. The internet is filled with stories of blown out components because the wiring at the PSU side isn't standardized. I'm very lucky I looked it up instead of just trying.

Bought for a new AMD build. This thing is great. Quiet, easy to hookup since it is fully modular. Only had for a few weeks, so don't know about longevity, but initial quality is great. Haven't had any issues with any of my past corsair psus.

If you plan on upgrading your GPU.... If you're lucky to catch one in the wild... Or you just want to make sure you have enough power for any upgrade that you might make in the next several years, get this guy. I wanted a new PSU because, one: my old PSU wasn't modular (makes for cleaner cable management, etc.) and two: I wanted a PSU that would allow me to upgrade to better parts over the next few years without needing to worry about having enough power. I did a lot of research before I made my purchase and came down to Seasonic and Corsair. I had to go with Corsair due to many positive reviews from tech Youtubers to fellow shoppers and I have many Corsair products and they've all been great!

Corsair makes some of the best PSU’s around and this one is no exception. Easily powers the latest and most power hungry GPU’s and CPU’s. Cables are quality but wished they were individually braided.

Very quite, fan seldom runs. Hold my 5950x + RTX 3080 well. No coil whine at all. The cables coming with it from the package is hard to work with though, a nightmare for cable management.

Great product. Very easy to install and use. Instructions almost fail proof. Very nice it is fully modular. 850w should be enough for anything. I currently have it plugged to a 3070
