Crackling noises and audio loss for seconds

Took them back after using for about a week. I was constantly getting audio loss / cut outs and often getting crackling noises. I returned them and grabbed a pair of Steel Series Arctis 1 Wireless and couldn't be happier that I did. Also their software is garbage and crashed constantly.

We purchased these after the crew member told us they would work on an Xbox. I don’t know if they will, but I couldn’t make it happen. Returned them for Turtle Beach.

      Hello Judith,

As the title of this product mentions/and the box would have written for compatibility, this headset is compatible with PC, PS4 and PS5.

Nice Big Headphones to Cover Ears

These headphones have the type of design points I love. They are large enough to go over my older drooping earlobes, they have excellent adjustment features, they have some lights for pizzazz, they don’t make my ears sweat due to the soft but sort of venting earpad material, they absolutely don’t pinch my head and they sound great. They also have 7.1 surround sound – nice. You can control these phones using the Corsair iCue software. I also have the Corsair K57 keyboard and the software handles both of these devices. You can control lighting, sound equalization and more in the software. The battery life can be extended greatly by not using the lights but they sure are sharp and not overdone. I did have one problem. I could not get the mic off mute. I called Corsair support and actually had a tech in less than a minute. However, I found while on the call that if I stored the mic fully in the ‘vertical’ position (push until it locks in place), the mute function now went off when I then lowered the mic to a horizontal position. You can also control muting via a button on the headset. What I think is that it was not an obstruction, but rather pushing the mic all the way to its locked position caused a reset of the mic auto-mute switch in the headset. I think this because it seems to be a permanent fix now. I did google this problem and found many times folks had this same mute problem and tried all sorts of restarts, resets and firmware upgrades. I think the solution I stumbled on, may be the real problem and is a permanent fix and/or procedure. Subsequently I did not have to put the mic all the way up to the locked vertical position, i.e. just lifting the mic muted it as designed. Now the mute button also worked properly. There is a large USB dongle that you must use for the wireless connection. Maybe the dongle could have been a bit smaller like the one the Corsair K57 keyboard uses. I definitely recommend these excellent headphones which come with a 2 year parts and labor warranty from Corsair - now that is great.

    Affordable, comfortable, well-rounded headset

THE GOOD -Wide, comfortable band -Mesh earcups -Well-padded headband -Simple controls on headset -Good battery life THE BAD -Low mic levels -No slot to store USB dongle in headset -Can't be used in wired USB mode ( using while charging requires cables AND dongle ) -Can't store presets or settings in headset itself THE TL/DR The Corsair Void RGB Elite is a comfortable, no frills wireless headset that does its job well and is affordable to boot. THE DETAILS My first thought when trying on the Void RGB Elite was, "These are too loose; they'll fall off." However, that's only in the context that I was so used to other much tighter headsets. Over longer periods of time I find the Void causes less ear fatigue and is much more forgiving while wearing glasses, but never once have I had it accidentally fall off. Wearing it multiple days through work was never an issue. The headband uses a super squishy memory foam that is also quite comfortable. And though I know leather, or fake leather, earcup material is all the rage, I'm happy the Void uses a cloth mesh, as I find it breathes much easier, so my ears don't get as hot and I don't have sweat building up on the ear pads. The headband also has a wide adjustable size range. The mic is not detachable, but it does rotate up and out of the way, so it's almost as good. The boom is flexible along most its length so you can bend it to your preferred position, but it does not telescope. When rotated up, the mic is disabled by default, and turns on when you swing it down. The activation point is pretty high up, so it's somewhat easy to accidentally activate ( conversely it's nearly impossible to accidentally mute ). Default mic levels seem to be very low. I had to increase mic gain considerably to be heard. The only controls on the headset is a power button, mic mute, and a volume rocker ( MUCH preferred over a free spin dial ). I see this as a good thing ( fewer things to confuse your fingers when trying to operate it by feel. However, considering the mic is muted by simply rotating it up, the mic mute button is pretty useless. I think that space would have been better used for an EQ preset button, unfortunately the Void can't store EQ or lighting presets oboard when you use it on a computer or PS4 that's not running Corsair's iCUE software. Speaking of iCUE, iI find it hit and miss. It's fairly straightforward in customizing the lighting and EQ on the headset, but I also saw a lot of red and yellow ! icons, making me think it was reporting issues with the headset ( I wasn't able to find anything, so a lot of false positives? ). I recommend leaving the RGB off since it extends the battery life, and it's not like you can see it anyway. The battery charges through a normal micro USB connection, but unfortunately the headset can't operate that way. You can use it while charging it, but you still need the USB dongle connected as well, meaning it takes two ports. But all in all, for only $100, the Void is a compelling headset. A lot of similar featured headsets ( wireless, RGB, 7.1 surround ) tend to be in the $150+ range. So finding one that's more comfortable than most and doesn't lose, if any functionality, but for $50 less is a good deal. The low mic gain is annoying, but not a deal breaker. I'd like the headset to have some kind of storage compartment for the USB dongle, but again that's not critical. This seems like a well-rounded headset in a very affordable price range.

I purchased this headset for my husband for his birthday and he did not care for them. He currently owns the wired version which he said he preferred. His friends mentioned that they could barely hear him. It would cut in and out. I ended up returning them.

Discord just randomly loses ability to use the mic. Tried everything google can offer. Every minute to 30min the mic will just stop working and you’ll have to go in and fix it.

      Hello,

Sorry to hear you have an issue, but this doesn't happen to everyone using Discord with this headset as that'd create a huge problem for us. Given you're having this happen, however, please contact our team at any time right on our site for assistance.
