I thought I was going to have to replace my laptop because it had become almost completely unresponsive. Thankfully someone recommended replacing my hard drive with the Crucial MX500 1TB Internal SSD SATA. My laptop is like new again!

This is a great fast storage solution that doesn't cost too much. It's not going match an NVMe drive in terms of performance, but it lives up to the advertised specs and works great for all my games with a negligible impact on loading time compared to the NVMe drive I typically use. If you're upgrading from a mechanical the difference will be night and day. My one complaint is the drive doesn't come with any mounting screws for installation or a SATA cable. This won't really be an issue if you're installing it in laptop, but it's something to be aware of.

Replaced a pitifully slow disk in a budget Lenovo laptop and the computer went from barely usable to a very good general use Windows 10 PC. I can't understand why Lenovo would put such garbage disks in their machines, it makes them look so bad. The only issue was that the cloning procedure was a pain. It turned out you needed to clone the drive before installing the SSD to the laptop and then there were some additional hoops to jump through to get Windows to boot off the clone. I was part way through the procedure when Windows started recognizing the drive so I'm not sure what brought it online. Unfortunately the standard included cloning instructions don't say anything about cloning before swapping drives or the added steps needed to get Windows to boot. I had to search their support forums to find the information.

Solid state drives are the way to go. Amazing how much of a difference solid state drives make as opposed to the traditional drives and it awesome that they are so affordable now.

Put it in my new gaming laptop, runs pretty good. Only 931GB is available, but this is normal for most/all 1TB drives in my experience. It took a bit of work to get it in, but it was pretty easy. I picked it up on sale, and $89.99 for a 1 TB SSD up to 560 MB/s is pretty good. I would get it, remember it's only 2.5 inches so it'd probably be used in a laptop, but I think it'd work in a desktop too

bought this to upgrade my brother's laptop running on an hdd and was definitely worth the buy installing it was easy and installing the operating system was quicker than I expected which made it even better

This SsD was the best idea to replace the hard drive of my laptop. From a painfully slow boot up to a lighting fast without upgrading anything else. This was a great choice. Thank you!

Crucial has always made good stuff and this MX500 drive is no exception to that. This is a internal sata solid state drive so it can replace any old 2.5" sata mechanical hdd you still have in use or maybe you just want to add more space. Also if you wanted you could throw it in a external usb3 case as well. I used this ssd drive to bring back life to one of my old laptops and wow did it do so. Boots time are incredibly faster than before and the laptop is usable again. No more waiting for things to respond. Mine is a 1tb drive which is plenty of space for OS install and my day to day use. The drive is extremely light and doesn't seem to get too hot when under heavy use. It uses 3D TLC NAND and can do 560MB/s sequential reads. With 95k random read iops and 90k random iops. For anyone looking for a 2.5" ssd look no further. This is a great bang for your buck ssd.
