I use mine for maintaining Timemachine backups for my MacBook Pro. The drive is blazing fast compared to a traditional external HDD. Seems reliable. Very portable.

Works as expected. Tiny in size but great in capacity. Has been rock solid so far.

First, 4TB in such a small package, smaller than expected, thin. There may be faster, but this is quite fast, does not get more than slightly warm under heavy work, and has expected volume. Details? Clean, feels well-made, does not show fingerprints, has lanyard hole. The admittedly short USB-C cord (7") is firm, substantial, and can easily suspend the drive in mid-air with minimal stress on connection. I'm sorry to hear that Micron is leaving direct to consumer memory business due to AI. Buy it while you can.

Really fast storage in a tiny, sturdy body. Works great as Time Machine backup for a Mac.

This drive is perfect and fast I have to buy another one!!!! I would 100% Recommend it’s small and perfect for external space and worth the price.

I take this with me everywhere I go and dump tons of pictures and videos onto it. The transfer speeds are nice, it took only a couple of hours to transfer over 1.5 TBs of data from this to my PC.

Very nice little external drive! But don’t let its diminutive size fool you. This 4 TB drive is fast and so far reliable. I am running this on my Mac Mini so it’s already formatted for XFat which is great because I am backing up stuff from old PC internal and external drives. The Crucial mighty small drive will R/W Mac and PC. Got this on a sale day that makes this an even greater value. I very much like and recommend this little external SSD drive to anyone needing a fast drive with massive storage 4TB.

A lot of storage in a all space, i have it connected as a supplemental drive every day for a year with my usb hub with all my other external drives. Havent lost any data yet so i cinsider it a reliable devoce tgat i am able to trust more over m external hdd's.

Ok - so I needed a backup for my laptop. I wanted to go with an SSD external drive and did some research and found the Crucial X9 Pro! It is super fast - I was able to transfer all of my really big video files very quickly. The coolest thing about this drive is how small it is! I ordered the drive online and when it arrived I thought I had ordered the wrong drive. It is so so small - perfect to throw into my laptop bag and take up almost no space. Vet cool. Would totally recommend this amazing drive!

Super small but super fast and reliable for the price

I use this with my MacBook Pro M1 as a Time Machine drive. It’s been a fine product. I formatted it as APFS. I have a similar one for misc storage of large video editing projects I want to keep with me. I use it frequently. Disk speed tests are not necessarily going to represent real world applications, and you never get the results listed on the box. Just read any drive review (in laboratory conditions no less) but using the Blackmagic test, here’s 2 datapoints about 6 months apart: Test #1. 912 MBps write, 900 MBps read. This roughly corresponds to the 10 Gbps spec of USB 3.2 Test #2. 903 MBps write, 830 MBps read As a comparison a Crucial T500 in a Thunderbolt 4 enclosure got about 3200 / 3300 As another comparison, the MacBook Pro native unified storage (1 TB) got: 6042 MBps write / 5112 MBps read after about 2.5 to 3.0 years of use. I never tested this drive on my MacBook, but my identical drive I use for misc storage (mentioned above) on my Mac I often I pop into my iPad Pro 11” 2018. I use it to transfer video, and I find 2 GB files transfer relatively fast. I’m pretty sure, unlike the new iPad Pros, this old iPad Pro USB-C port is not a high speed port by today’s standard. All I know is it’s way faster than my fastest thumb drives

Good value for for my needs. Needed large capacity external to share between multiple workstations. Also using it to run applications. Acceptable transfer rates.
