fairly easy to install, not all house wiring is color coded as diagram in instructions, somewhat frustrating getting red light tried everything, then realized the lights might be too much wattage, changed to LED lights and switch works great, however, slightly different size then GE non dimmer smart switch, so both in same box with a double cover was challenging

Good dimmer with a few drawbacks

I purchased this dimmer for newly installed recessed LED lights in a bedroom. Overall I'm very satisfied with the end result for the money. One extremely important thing not detailed in the requirements is that this dimmer can't be connected to an outlet. This can be a huge problem especially if your house has split switch outlets (half-hot outlets). In that case it's not just a simple move of the dimmer or removing the outlet. Realistically it's going to need an electrician's help for most people.
With the correct wiring the install into the wall went fine. I do wish the physical dimmer switch had more dimming options, but it's not that big of a deal. I think there are 8 from the lowest to highest level of dimming.
Connecting and configuring the dimmer was a different story. I had to do a couple factory resets on the dimmer and reinstall the app on my phone before I was able to get everything connected. After getting everything configured it's working well. It's nice that you can connect switches and a few other smart products in the same app without a hub though. I'm just hoping the app will improve over time with updates.

All I have in my house now are these C by ge switches, they are clean looking , well designed and the app is really actually good compared to what people are saying,, I also purchased the bulbs and they are awesome . this switch is very versatile and I had no issues with what I connected them to. other product that cost more that I tried weren't anywhere near this … Great packaging as well and comes with screw less.

Bought this for our dining room light, easy to install, only difference from regular light switch is the neutral cable connects to it aswell.
Hooked up to wifi, then to Alexa and now I dont gotta get up off of bed at night when it's left on! You can also set schedules to turn on/off at certain by itself which is awesome. I get up for coffee and when I walk into kitchen lights already on (600am) and when I leave (usually by 615am) its scheduled to turn off by 620am.

The switch is awesome to have. The only problem was how to install when you have a double switch (one at both ends of the room for the same light. I called for help and they had to get back with me to figure it out.
Once installed, we loved it.

I had to return this because it (like most smart things) required a neutral wire. I did not have one for the application I bought this for. Lutron caseta has switches that don’t require neural and so I went with that instead.

This is the first time I ever hooked up a smart light. It was fairly easy. But you have to make sure you remember, or write down, what "name" you give the light, for example "living room dimmer" or "bedroom dimmer". So when you ask a smart speaker to turn it on, or dim it, etc., you have to use that exact name in order for it to operate. But other than that, it works great. I'm very satisfied with it. And would recommend it.

For a non-electrician the instructions made it easy enough to do by myself with no problems. App wasn’t the best, but I set it to work with Alexa so I haven’t had to use it other than setting up.

Wish I had spent the extra $5 per switch and got more of these instead of the on off switches. These are much easier to connect as 3 way switches because they have separate line and load wires and there are actual instructions online although you have to hunt for the link and then you need a fairly strong understanding of household wiring to connect them. It took me several hours of trial and error and reading and rereading the instructions to get them to work. Please look for my review on the C by GE LIGHT SWITCH for details on the many issues I have had with these switches disconnecting and the horrible customer service wait times and the lack of decent online trouble shooting. You need to be very tech savvy and extremely determined to make these work and keep them working. I love the voice controls with the google home when they work but have spent MANY MANY hours fighting to get them to work and keep them working over the short time that I have had them. If I hadn't been able to get them for 1/2 the price of other switches because Best Buy put them on sale I would have returned them to the store. Smart bulbs are much easier but if you really really want to control your ceiling fans and lights with your voice and you can get these cheaper than the bulbs it may be a better way to go. Must set up in the C by GE app before connecting to the google home app. If connecting as a 3 way switch you need to understand how three way switches are wired and how travel wires work. If you put multiple switches in the same room in the GE app they will turn each other off and on. If you have separate fan and light switches then you need to set up separate rooms for them in the GE app. If it loses wifi signal there is a setting that allows you to reset the wifi connection without having to reset the switches from scratch, saves a ton of time.

Purchased as a replacement to an older knob dimmer switch. It was easy to install and connect to Google Assistant. Looks much better than previous dimmer. Ring around on/off works as a night light.

Got two of these for a theater room application. First time doing a smart switch so it may just be me but the install was a little odd. The electrical side was easy enough once I determined where the constant hot was. The app found the two switches fine. Configuration on net work went well. Getting them to work As one was a little odd. Honestly not sure how it happened but I think the he app figured things out once I put them in the same room and gave it a few minutes. After that things seem to work as one unit. Google mini controls them just fine. Worth the sale price and so far so good.

You are spot on when doing a 3-way, the app setup is critical to them working in conjunction with one another. Once wired properly, the "line side" (or "hot") of a 3-way setup will no control the light until the devices are placed in the same room of the C by GE app.
The "load side" of the 3-way will turn the light on and off, but if there is dimming functionality with the switch, that will not work until after the switch is loaded into the C by GE app and the bulb type is input. The "line side" will have no app control as it is not actually connected physically to the light; only the "load side" will have the ability to control the light via the C by GE app.
You can create any combination of a virtual "multi-way" circuit with the devices simply by placing them into the same room within the C by GE app. They don't even have to be in the same circuit; they would only need to be within BlueTooth range of one another, or within the the bluetooth mesh network that the devices create across your home when you have them throughout the house.
Upon linking the devices to your Google Home app, they do not have to be in the same room on Google Home. You can organize them however you would like.

My wife and I have LED recess lights with dimmers and it would have cost us alot more to replace with smart bulbs. This switch works great as it connect to light switches that control our kitchen and living room bulbs (we purchased 2). Have not tried it on a 3 way switch but for the price you cant beat. Was fairly easy to setup and connect to our Alexa.

I purchased some CLife bulbs and absolutely love them. Easy setup works great. I was very glad to also find that there is also a line of in wall switches to go along with the bulbs. This is the only product line I know of that retains smart bulb functionality with their in wall switches. Being able to control from both wall and voice regardless of in wall switch position is fantastic.
Although I didn't like the physical appearance of the dimmer switch based on the pics, I bought one to see if I would change my mind once in hand. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. I really just don't care for the dimmer / motion sensor design choices made. Why couldn't the paddle switch appearance be retained along with adding dimmer function? This switch design is just too busy for my liking. I would also miss the ease of just casually pushing a paddle as opposed to targeting a small clicking circle. I much prefer a traditional paddle. While not a traditional paddle, I do have a Wemo smart dimmer that has a nice design alternative that I like.
Although I will be returning this model, I will give the paddle switch a try. I'll just have to resort to controlling dimming by app/voice. Wall switch will just be for On/Off.
Great product line GE. I just think you missed the mark a little on this one.
