    I have Cync brand bulb & outlet so I purchased a Cync brand switch to stay in the same app. I bought this smart switch to be able to turn my three front porch lights on & off when I'm in bed or away from home through the app. And it does that. I wish I had more information on how it worked before I bought it. I didn't have a neutral wire and when I opened package to install, it had an adapter (required for no neutral wire) that I had to screw one of the bulbs into before I screwed it into my porch light fixture. It made the bulb longer and it bearly fit under the globe. Also, I had three different types of bulbs which confused the switch, so I had to replace with all the same type for it to work. I put LED bulbs in cuz that's what I had and they won't dim even though the bulbs are dimmable. Also, the LED bulbs I already had in the front fixtures are brighter than before, they used to look like amber flames. I have to put in iridescent bulbs or smart bulbs to dim. I tried to set up a routine schedule for the switch but it doesn't seem to work. The app says the switch is linked to my Cync outlet in order to accept commands, whatever that means. All in all it does what I wanted it to do, so I'm satisfied.

    Great for ceiling fan

    I purchased 26 of them to turn all fans in the house. Not recommended for lights in rooms because it don’t dim for that I purchase the dim one. The app needs a lot a work. Alexa does a better job. Google home has issues. It works. The app will freeze if you add more than 15 devices. You will need to create location to make it work. This was install in all ceiling fans closet lights laundry room garage and outside lights. Because you can schedule when to go on and off outside lights. Ones you set every Alexa in each room you just say lights on and it only turns those lights on. I set other groups were I can turn all of except outside lights works great. I ran test with Alexa and google home. I chose Alexa because it was easier to use and it work better. When you try to turn off 68 devices at ones google start turning them off and quits and says c by ge is not responding at time Alexa does not it would take 2 to 3 seconds to continue turning them all off. The second reason was because google home does not have Apple Music and had kept saying my central ac was link but would not show. I did purchase this when it was on sale for $16 something. The dim was $24 and the motion sensor was $40 something. I would recommend this instead of buying WiFi bulbs. The only thing I don’t like is the light on the switch has option just to stay on or off. I would like to have the choice of me choosing the hours for night only during the day no need.

    Difficult connection, Chinese software.

    Difficult to connect to wireless router. Needed a power off reset to finally connect. Have not tried google home or Alex’s connectivity. Can’t turn it on/off through Bluetooth. Upon connecting Netgear router reported it to be a “Shenzhen jingxun software telecommunication home automation “ . So apparently that’s where GE is getting it’s software from. Please see attached picture.

    This review is about the GE Cync Smart on/off switch. However, some background is needed. GE Cync is replacing X10 units. House is a modest 3-bedroom home with two wire and ground. The switches are simple to install. I did an initial bench setup on the units to record the MAC and internal URL. A step that is not needed in hindsight. GE Cync support is very responsive and helpful with installation and guidance. My mesh router system has 5 and 2.4G service. The GE Cync devices would not connect to the app. The routers allow up to 250 devices. Cync devices only allow up to 50 per home. Cync support recommended using the Guest access, set at 2.4G only. I added another home to go above the 50-device limit. Switching between homes is an added step. So, devices that would primarily be controlled by a routine or switch point were moved to the second home. Would be better is GE Cync would eliminate the 50-device limit. Another issue I am having is separate devices can switch each other. Cync Support recommended creating groups. This works. Except still have rooms where the devices interact. I have 3 gang boxes that function without issue. And single gang boxes that will cross circuits. This issue is only while using the wall switch manually. Using the Cync app, light circuits are controlled separately. Bottom line, the GE Cync system will cost less than the X10 devices we purchased 15 years ago. Moreover, these are mor competitively priced than other available systems. Also, we will be able to expand functionality: thermostat, full color bulbs, ceiling fan control. The on/off switches are recommended.

    Great smart switch without a bridge

    After looking at multiple options, we chose the C by GE paddles and dimmers. Easy set up on single switch rooms, had some challenges with our three and four way switches. First it's important to know you need to have all C by GE switches for the room that is a three or four way. Then if you only want one dimmer, you need to put it at the switch that sends the power to the light (load switch) if you want the dimmer somewhere else, buy multiple dimmers. Connects easily to Alexa. We have had them installed for a couple weeks and they function great. My one complaint is that you have to add wifi login details to each switch. I wish it was one parent wifi connection that spanned across the 15 switches we installed so it added a bit of time for installation.

    Installed to control my exterior garage lights. Love that I can set up a schedule where they automatically turn on around sunset and turn off in the middle of the night. I have to still install two other purchased smart paddle switches but look forward to the convenience of setting schedules for those controlled by the smart switch. Simple and straight forward app to use. Really like that I don’t need some other hub here in my house.

    Works great. Easy to set up and connect with google. I have 3. Also works well with Alexa You can add to routines as well. Make sure you know if you need the 3 wire or 4 wire.

    I wish there was more information to measure loads

    I did not find enough literature so I could figure out how many light bulbs this switch could control. I wish the manufacturer has better information on line with some kind of tool to calculate electric loads.

    Switch works very well with the echo devices I have which working a fan as well as light it works very well and in addition I also use the Wiz light bulbs in this fan with the combination it is fun to use

    I got it to work but programming and app not user friendly. Only white colored available, I need brown. My Hue products are much easier to use and flexible but they don't offer a switch, yet.
