Easy to set up if you are somewhat computer savvy. Video and sound work well over high speed ISP. Night vision has limited range, but is clear up to about 10 feet. Phone app works well and camera can be viewed remotely. Although not advertised for outdoor use, mine is under a protected porch and I've had no problems. Wish there was better recording options however.

I bought two of these to add to an existing system using Blue Iris as the DVR. They work okay most of the time except for the occasional blip in the picture caused by the camera that is detected as motion by the software so an event is recorded. Other than that issue, they are fine as a simple WiFi camera with sound.

If you're looking for all the bells and whistles this camera is probably not for you. Bottom line it's just so you can check in on a particular area from time to time. The pro's are: it has quality video and audio and I found the process of connecting it directly to my router to be very user friendly. (I have not tried to connect with WiFi but it does have that capiblility). It even has color video feed if there is enough light. It will email the user in case there is motion and/or sound and there are sensitivity settings that work surprisingly well. Con's: It won't text you so be aware, email is your only method of alert communication. You can take a still photo but you can't record video from the online feed. It may be possible to set up a DVR that will record but I haven't chosen to use it for that application. I can say for beginners like myself I found it to be inexpensive and easy to set up and use.

Very Good Value + Easy Set-Up

This little camera produces very good daylight images. It has a night-time mode, where it switches to black-&-white; but I have it placed inside my house, shooting the exterior through a window. I get a lot of reflections (of the window-blinds) off the window at night, and so my night-time pics are not as clear as they might be. Set-up was almost trivially easy; but, to be fair, I'm an IT professional, and I understand networking pretty well. Still, like I said, almost trivial. One thing I really like about it is the camera's ability to just email you clips of events, without the need of any server or PC; the camera contains an SMTP (email) server, so it can just send email on its own. The camera also has a web-server built in, and you can just connect to that to do the set-up/configuration stuff, or just watch the live feed. You really don't need any dedicated software. However, D-Link has a free-download 'console' program you can use for stuff like multi-camera monitoring, if you want to set up multi-camera monitoring, and/or record to your PC hard drive, ether per-event, or just according to a schedule. If I decide I need any more security cameras, I'm likely to buy another one of these; I'm pretty satisfied with the value for the price.

I bought these cameras to complement the ones already installed in my house. The quality of the image is really good and they are very simple to install and sync with your phone, computer, or tablet. You can take pictures, but you won't be able to record unless you pay for a recording service through the manufacturer.

I purchased 2 cameras. Were very easy to set up. I set up wireless and have the app & so does my husband. We can see our front room and kitchen with the push of a button. It's neat to watch my kids from the other room. It doesn't record but you can set it up to send alerts for loud noises. I give B+for easy installation and quality of camera, but for $70/camera it was my price range. Recording camera options were available for about $170.

I purchased 2 of these cameras, and I really like them with one exception. The video quality is what I expected, and I like the option for daylight and night vision viewing. What I don't like is that the cameras cut out on occasion. They are hooked up through the Wifi so whenever they don't get a good connection they will disconnect for a short while.

I went to purchase a Belkin to add to the other two I already own. They only had the D-Link in stock. Since it was a different area I tried it. I like it and it works well, I felt the Belkin setup and app works better than D-Link but they both work well. Maybe it is just habits and both are equal.

We got this camera to keep an eye on our pets while we are away. for the price, it is fantastic. In the room it is in, seems like it's easier to see on night vision, possibly because is the sunlight. The audio is not the greatest, but the picture is very good quality. Setup was easy as well. I do wish it was easier to mount. We can't find a great spot for it, at the moment.

We were going on vacation and needed a camera, fast. This one was not too expensive and has a good picture. I wish the view was a little wider and not so sensitive (even after I turned it down). It's a little noisy when switching modes and the lights on it are very bright and noticeable.

I really like being able to watch my home while I'm traveling, and I like being able to set up the motion and sound notifications. However, this thing seems to glitch at least twice a day. I get a daily notification at 2pm that it's been disconnected. And I'll get notifications that there's a motion or sound, try to connect through the app, and the request times out or is unable to connect. I still haven't been able to view the camera through an internet browser. However, you're able to view your house in color during the day, and black and white at night. It's nice that this is on wifi and you can plug it in anywhere in the house. So 80% of the time, it gets the job done for me.

Absolutely the worst wireless camera I have ever purchased. Bough for remote viewing of my pets and home while at work. "Easy Wireless Connection" was a joke, spent two hours trying to get it to connect before calling customer service. Tech support treated me like I was an idiot for not knowing how to change settings that I can't explain even now, and after about 2 hours of him guiding me through random internet pages (most of which wouldn't even load) the camera worked wirelessly. I was pleased with the picture quality as I need it for in home pet and child surveillance, but if I viewed the camera from within my home I got horrible audio feedback. Unfortunately after 2 hours this camera went offline, so I called DLink back. Tech support said "It does that sometimes, you can reset it and it will work." So.. I did, and 2 hours later it went offline again. Called back and was told to take back the camera if I didn't like it, and promptly hung up on. Reset the camera again hoping it was just my wireless connection going out due to storms and for some odd reason the camera wasn't reconnecting.. but it did it again. Called back DLink yet again and was told to hardline the camera via ethernet cable to see if that helped. Out of sheer desperation (It is 12am, can't really go switch it out) I tried this, even moving my camera to a room I do not need to watch so it is near the modem and my ethernet cable (since I dont have a 100 ft ethernet cable to stretch to the room it needs to be in) and lo and behold, it disconnected its self again. Called back tech support one last time to ask if my camera was defective and I was told to buy a new router (we have clearly established it is not the router as it does this hardlined) deal with resetting it every 2 hours (which if I'm at work how am I going to reset it? Defeats the purpose of a remote camera don't you think?) or return the camera. After all of these problems and the HORRIBLE customer service, I will be returning first thing in the morning and will never purchase another DLink product again. I absolutely do NOT recommend.

We bought this camera before leaving on vacation for a month. It was nice to be able to view our home from afar. I wish it had a live video recording feature. During a power outage the camera stopped working and needed to be reset which we could not do remotely so for a majority of our vacation we were unable to use it. I would spend a little more money for a camera with and auto reset and a few more features if I buy another one.

This was so easy to set up and use with a smart phone. The picture is good when there is light and almost as good in night mode. Remember you do want to install close to your wifi router for best results.

This camera only took about 5 minutes to set up. It works well in the daytime. The LEDs reflect off the window at night and blur the picture. I'm sure I could adjust it, but it suits my purpose the way it is.

Inexpensive camera, but easy to initially set up. It has the ability to adjust sound & motion settings which you can only do via PC, but able to do so via wifi, you don't have to be hard-wired for that. Those setting adjustments don't seem too difficult, but I have not tried them yet. Picture clarity is decent, but don't point this out the window with a screen, especially if the camera is just a few inches from the screen. The d-link smartphone app is very easy to use and lets you select any camera in your network quickly. I do recommend adjusting the the sound and motion settings before going away from home, otherwise, the text and email alerts will drive you crazy due to the sensitivity for sound.

The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star instead of 5 stars is because it doesn't save the video to the cloud. If you don't log in at just the right moment, you won't know if someone has been in your home or not. It is a 5 star for the image quality; even night images are remarkably clear. The audio is awesome as well. Great little camera if you can be sitting around watching it.
