The picture and sound quality are really rood. The availability of watching via app on your phone is nice. It is really nice to easily pan/tilt the camera as needed. Most of the issues are related to the app. 1 issue with the device itself is manual focusing. This issues related to the app include:
a. I keep the volume for notifications and ringers off on my phone, but the app requires this to be on to play the noises thru the phone.
b. noticeable delay in the video/sound to live.

I bought this camera to keep tabs on my new puppy while I'm out of the house. It installed onto my network fairly easily (it took 2 tries). This is what I'd call an "entry-level" camera. You get what you pay for and at this low price, you get a "good" picture, but far from razor sharp. The area needs to be well lighted in order to get a color image. Otherwise, the picture is black and white. It does do quite well in low/no light, just in BW. The camera can be controlled remotely from a cell phone, but it's really slow and you have to guess where you're aiming it. When I change the camera view, I never get it where I want on the first try. It takes a bit of going back and forth to finally get the area you want to view. The camera can zoom in, but it's a digital zoom, not optical. That means that the more you zoom in, the more blurry the picture becomes. The built-in microphone allows me to hear if my pup barks, but wouldn't do well to listen to a conversation. Also, there's no speaker on the camera, so you can't talk to anyone who may encounter it. You could hear them, they couldn't hear you. My biggest complaint about this camera is that you can't flip the image. In order to see into my puppy's kennel, I had to mount the camera on the ceiling. Looking straight down is no problem, but if I change the view to anywhere else in the room, the image is upside-down. D-link should provide a way to flip the image if you mount the camera on a ceiling.
In short, this is a good, basic camera that allows you to remotely change the view. It's certainly not a production level camera. They won't use these on Big Brother! It's fine for my minimal needs. I would only recommend this camera to someone who has very basic needs/expectations in a remote camera and does not need 2-way communication.

We purchased this item to keep watch of our dogs while on a vacation. We had a dog sitter take care of them and we wanted to be able to keep an eye on our dogs and make sure the sitter was doing what she was hired to do. The best feature of this camera is the 360 degree pan. Helped for sure! The only issue is when you pan with your mobile device it has trouble stopping sometimes. It will pan the whole 360 degrees. Not a big deal.

I'm glad to replace the DLink DCS-936L cameras with these cameras (DCS-5030L). The DCS-936L cameras kept disconnecting to my wireless router at any distance. TheDLink DCS-5030L cameras don't have any issues at all. They are more expensive but the videos are fairly good for home usages. They work with BlueIris software very well also.

It works really well in our camper while we are away. It gives us a nice piece of mind that everything is ok. We can even watch the mouse traps in the winter.

I use this as a baby monitor. I had been through a couple others first. This camera by far has the BEST picture! It's so clear, I can zoom right in to see my little one. Love it!

This is a superb demonstration of advanced technology being available and usable by a non-techie. An excellent surveillance camera, great picture definition, with understandable instructions. Even easy to connect to a wireless router in your home so you can watch (and control) the camera from your cell phone.

The setup took longer than expected , but it wasn’t horrible. The reason for 4 stars was the difficulty in adjusting the lens.
