I bought this to compliment my new HP laptop since they have gotten away from including disk drives. This external drive has worked out very well, although it seems to be a bit noisier then others I have seen.

easy to set up even for me I'm not good with anything computer related. does what I needed it to do play dvd's.

Used for loading SW. Nice to not have to add the size and weight to the laptop. Just plug it in when needed. Very good design plan for the long term.

Few of my work items are still stored in Disks. This is the best external tool I have ever seen to work with DVD/CD reading and writing.

Bought this for my DELL Inspiron 15 laptop which didn't come with a CD/DVD drive since I needed to install software from a disc. Works great, although it is a bit noisy as other reviewers have mentioned.

Bought this so I could have a optical drive to use with my MacBook and my office all in one loads pretty fast and quiet no power required

With new laptops not having internal cd/DVD players, this device does the trick. I've used it to install programs that I only have on disc

Connected it by USB cable, inserted set up disc and followed prompts and all this lead to allowing to watch movies on my laptop.

This item was very easy to install and comes with a power cord to use in addition to the USB, if needed. Very easy to use.
