This DVD writer does not require a power cord...it get's it's power from the USB connection. Great option for those systems that do not have a built-in drive. Sleek design makes it look good on the desktop.

Plays movies and musoc as it shoild writes data to discs woth no issues so far!

I'm quite happy with the product, now that I've figured out how to get it synced up with a video player app. I guess everyone is supposed to know what's involved, but it's a false assumption.

WOW! This is a game changer. No need to buy additional replacements for programs that require a disk on a laptop that doesn't have a disk reader. Money saved:)

I was originally looking to purchase a portable DVD player. When I spoke with the folks at best best buy they suggested this item. I didn't think I would use a DVD player but I have used it a ton. Happy customer:)

Plug and Play feature is important to me. So far, no issues with this DVD/CD player. My only concern is that when the slot for loading a disk is open it fees a bit flimsy and needs something placed below it for support.

Performance is as expected. Transferring data into disc, however, is kind of not clear

It does just what I wanted--the disk drive in my computer got intermittently quirky and the techs at BB couldn't figure out what was wrong ... this solved the problem

This product is very ligh weightt, but it works and it serves what I need.

The drive works flawlessly. No problems at all. Transfer speed is excellent.

We had a problem with the setup of a new printer/scanner. We did not have a CD drive with our laptop to complete the installation with the printer's CD. Adding this external drive solved our problem.

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop and needed an external drive to load software. The drive worked well for the software I needed to install to date. No setup was required.

Just plugged it into the computer and it started working right away. Just be aware if you are trying to watch a DVD, you may need to download a DVD player software first.

Player works real well, picture quality is excellent. Only had it a couple of months, the one I bought it to replace only lasted 4-5 months. Let's see. The Salesperson was 4+helpful!

Needed this device to install programs on my new computer. DVD drives are no longer standard equipment.

This little drive does just what I needed, as my two new Dell laptops and my new Alienware desktop didn't come with internal DVD drives. It works interchangeably on all three machines.

Using it with a Dell XPS laptop which doesn't have an internal optical drive (due to the XPS's slim form factor) to run some older sofware that needed to loaded from a CD. Worked flawlessly!

Not sure how to recommend this. My computer cd stopped working and this has helped me to play old cd's and yes I know that is old fashioned but I am just learning to use my new Ipad pro from Best Buy.
