Bought this for playing dvds on a road trip. The drive couldn't be easier to use or install. I plugged the USB cable into my laptop and it installed the drivers and functioned almost immediately.

Works perfect with my Dell laptop. Just the right dize to fit on desk.

This was the same price and similar statistics as the LG version, but I have a Dell XPS laptop, so I went with the common branding, also, it comes with some reasonably good software for writing/reading dvds etc. It would be nice if it had a usb-c connection, but sadly, it does not. If that's your thing, they started selling one recently at bestbuy with a usb-c connection from another company. Would likely have gotten that one if it was an option when I purchased this one as my laptop usb connectivity is all usb-c and would prefer not to have to use an adapter.

My new Dell computer didn't come with a DVD. I bought this and it works great. It plays both audio CDs and movie DVDs, plus very reasonably priced. Very easy to use and install.

I have a newer/small Dell laptop for work, and it doesn't have a DVD drive. I needed to rip some video of a training program to send to other coworkers. The drive worked well and fairly quickly. Met all my epectations and the price was right.

I bought this because I bought a new HP computer (from another merchant) that had a dead DVD Read/Write player from day one. I contacted the HP support and they wanted me send the computer to them for testing. I told the tech that the problem is a weak laser and even though they agreed with this based on the symptoms I described I would still have to send in the computer. I told the tech that I will just buy an external drive and never buy another HP. That solved all of my problems with the HP.

Got a new PC and it didn't have any kind of a drive installed. I needed something in a hurry and this was available.

This was the cheapest way to get the dvd/cd component with my new Dell computer. Since I don’t use this feature much, my technician thought this would be the Best Buy. Works great and is very light weight.

Excellent product. This Dell USB Slim DVD +/- RW drive is the perfect dvd drive for my son's slim notebook that does not have a dvd drive.

I had to give up the DVD player in my VERY OLD HP, so this light-weight Dell fits the bill for a substitute. I'm confident in the Dell brand.

I looked into reviews of other drives that worked with Windows 10 and some weren't compatible. This one said it was...got a good price, and it does what I expect it to do. I haven't used it too much, but every time it is needed, it works great.

I am sure by now you know that most laptops sold today do not have a DVD drive. I purchased this so my teenagers could watch movies on their laptops on a long drive. This was the perfect purchase! It was easy to operate and made my kids happy!

I bought a cheap drive online only to return it, then similarly through a major online retailer. Picked this up locally at my Best Buy store and it's worked perfectly (without needing drivers) on my Windows 10 laptop.

Bought this drive to go with new Dell 2 in 1 laptop. Easy to connect, install, and use. Does everything that a built in drive would do, and does it well. Looks nice, runs quiet. Highly recommend this piece if you need an external optical drive.
