    With so many laptops not carrying dvd drives I needed an option to play them in my classroom since my district bans streaming. Other than a stand alone dvd player, this does the job well.

    Just bought it two days ago. Have been using it once in a while. Connection & disconnection were very easy. And the reading speed was acceptable. Haven’t tried burning any CD/DVD with it yet. One thing though: the software that came along in the box (CyberLink Media Suite 12) couldn’t be installed on Win 10. Pity.

    I got this drive just in case I need to load software onto my laptop, or play a DVD on it. It does what it's supposed to do, and seems sturdy.

    Needed an external CD since only my old desktop still has one. This drive works well if a bit slower than an internal drive. For the money an the times I will be using it it was a good value.

    Very nice drive, serves its purpose. Using USB does limit its performance though. I use it for backup disks so it definitely serves its purpose well.
